What a fun spot we landed at on a Friday night! They had live music (an 80s cover band only playing European new age and punk), excellent service, and an incredible patio to take in the view. The bar is super low-key (not the right place to order a martini), so if you're in the area and in the mood to drink beer, wine, margaritas, and such, this place is a find. 05.23.26 - Stopped by here today with my gf for late lunch. First time dinning here while its not raining. The steps and walkway to the main restaurant entrance, still hasn't been cleaned or swept since last time we were here, even more dirt, sand, and grim all over the steps and walkways. We were sat in the same area we are usually sat at, and this time we are noticing, that it is a lot hotter when there is no overcast, clouds or rain, as we are usually sat at a window booth seat. We didn't get our usual waitress either, I never caught the name of our waitress this time, however, all she did was take are drink order and food orders, after that our waitress was MIA, and someone from the kitchen brought out all our food, someone else brought out our drinks, never got any refills on our drinks, and when we were finished, after waiting forever, and not seeing our waitress anywhere, i got up and found where they keep their to go boxes and grabbed one, packed up our leftovers, then got up again trying to find where they kept their to go bags, and also was going to ask the bar, if we could have our receipt, then finally out of nowhere, our waitress finally shows up, and says "oh, i will get you a to go bag, and here is your receipt." I'm usually a great tipper, however, in this situation, i didnt think this waitress deserved a great, not even a good tip as well. Hidden bar on the water and I'm sure it's a great time if you're just hanging out, drinking and catching the live music when it's on but the vibes when you walk in are just ok. There was no wow factor for me, unfortunately. The overall atmosphere seemed a bit dated and sad. I can imagine especially with the beautiful hotel right next door that if they cleaned it up and made it inviting that people would certainly make their way there. There's a lot of potential. Walked in and we were greeted and told we could sit where we wanted and as you walk through most arcade games were turned off so I'm assuming they were broke. Lots of staff standing and staring which as our first time being there felt a little awkward and we got to our seat and it was a little sticky. Server was great. Decent food options and entrees were plentiful. Shrimp and grits were amazing. Buffalo chicken had a great kick to it. Got the Mac n cheese for our little and, unfortunately we didn't realize all the sauce was at the bottom of the bowl until we packed it up to go. My family and I went to O'neals on the Water here in Baytown to celebrate my birthday today. Reservations were made a week ago and requested a certain table being told that was no problem. We called 2 days ago just to confirm everything was good. No history of our reservation, and very rude customer service on the phone also, but made the reservation for a 2nd time since we really wanted to sit outside by the water. Our party of 7 shows up at 2 and it's as if they were just waiting on us with a scowl on their face. Seems we didn't really need to make a reservation to begin with, because there were hardly any customers. Thought they would be busy with people watching the soccer game. We get told our table wasn't available. We speak up about how our reservation disappeared and having to make it a 2nd time. We get seated and are all waiting at the table for 10-15 minutes wondering why we weren't being served. Finally the manager ,Fred, comes to our table demanding we need to call the owner because he wants to know why we made his employee cry, and cry so hard to him that she can't tell him why. I told him I was not calling anyone and nothing mean or harsh was said to her. We had a great waitress, which made us decide to stay since some of my family had driven so far. We order bare minimum. The pizza we got was so burnt and it felt intentional. But what really got me was....as we are leaving, going from the outside area into the inside area...100% on purpose , "F_CK the police" song starts up over the speakers. Again, we were there early and on a day before the 4th of July, so not sure why they're out of necessities to make drinks. Yeah no. We have tried this place twice. First time service was good - food is average but they need to step it up as there is such great food in Houston. Second time took over 45 minutes to get our food. Waitress was in training but she would just disappear. Again meal was very average presentation sucks. This restaurant was located right next to our hotel, and after seeing some advertisements for Steak Night on Thursday nights, I decided to give it a shot since we arrived on a Thursday. The special consists of a steak of your choice (ribeye, strip, or filet) with 2 sides and a trip to the salad bar for $24.99. I chose the strip, medium rare. Unfortunately, it wasn't a very good cut of meat and came out well done. I would've complained and asked them to remake it, but I had to leave to pick up my grandbabies and didn't have time to wait, so I just went ahead and ate it. The salad bar wasn't very good, just some lettuce/spinach and very few options as toppings (black olives, banana peppers, jalapenos, croutons, cherry tomatoes). My wife ordered the chicken fried steak and enjoyed it. The sides we ordered (fried okra, baked potato, green beans, dirty rice) were all pretty good. They have a nice setup right on the water, so the place definitely has potential. Another thing was that our booth table was very sticky and unsteady (wobbling back and forth). Our server was very friendly. I've never heard of this restaurant. I planned to meet with a new person who sells tea, and this is the place she scheduled for us to meet. Upon walking in and being greeted by staff was a big plus for me. Our waiter came over immediately and asked if we wanted a cocktail drink. At first, I said no, then he told us about a cucumber drink, and I changed my no to a yes..lol. That drink was really good. I had the shrimp and grits, and it was perfect. Fun local spot!! Next to a marina and a brand new Hyatt hotel, this is a waterfront dive bar / bar and grill with a good beach vibe and fun local crowd. Sure, it's next to the ship channel and Baytown is known for chemical plants and refineries, but you'd never know it while you were holed up in this place and having a good time. Seriously, you'd never know you were in Baytown. (And I grew up visiting family in Baytown all the time.) Sunday night special was coconut shrimp, and it was my favorite meal during the hotel stay next door. Some of the best coconut shrimp I've ever had, honestly. Monday night we split a pizza, after seeing an adjacent table order one and it looked great. And it was indeed pretty solid. Tuesday night I tried the blackened Mahi Mahi, and Tuesday was where it was spottier. We were at the hotel next door for an internal symposium conference thing, hence the repeated visits. Tuesday night was a pre-organized outing, and while the restaurant knew we'd have a party of 50 coming, they weren't quite prepared. They needed more staff, and some of our group waited FOREVER for their food. Our table was lucky, but as were were finishing up, another large table just got their appetizers. Ouch. And my Mahi Mahi was not blackened (it was just grilled and it was decent), and it ranked 3rd of my 3 visits that week. Someone next to me kept saying how good her burger was, and she cut it into fouths, didn't eat half, and gave a couple of us a fourth. Yep, should have ordered a burger. It was very good. Our waitress was good, to be clear - she just needed more help. And maybe the kitchen did, too. Bar had surprisingly good selection for a place like this - great bar. Stopped here for a late night dinner with family. O'Neals is tucked away, if we weren't looking for it we wouldn't have known it was there! The exterior of the restaurant definitely puts you in a boating mood, it is located on a dock and you walk by tons of sailboats on the way into the restaurant. There was live music playing that really set the tone for the experience they wanted you to have, even though it was a slow Sunday night. I ordered the fried catfish and shrimp, both had enough flavor that I didn't need hot sauce, but they had some Louisiana ready for us on the table anyways. My favorite item on the plate was the tater tots, the crisp level was just right. Our server was nice and did a good job helping us navigate the expansive menu. It was cold and rainy that day so I didn't get the full experience, but I would like to visit again on a nice weather day so I can sit outside and watch the boats pass by while listening to some yacht rock. read more

Little disappointed that they didn't have a lot of high chairs, I didn't see many kids there at all but I had to hold my 7 month old the whole time because the lack of high chairs. Kinda hard to enjoy the atmosphere. Also I asked the outside waitress before if we sat at the grassy area with the kids would be get served, we sat there for about 10 minutes without any service before I just moved back inside. We opted for appetizers first along with drinks.I'm not sure if they know what's even on their menu. I ordered the plain nachos and I was told that I had to choose a meat to go along with it. I knew meat was a choice at different price points. I didn't make a big deal about it. Just won't order nachos again. The taco meat was also way too salty.
