On June 27, my family and I went to this Applebee's and were having a great time until it came time to pay. Our experience completely changed because of how the coupons were handled, and it ended up ruining our meal. Our server and the manager told us we were not allowed to use two coupons on the same check for two appetizers. At other Applebee's locations we have been to, they were able to split the check so both coupons could be used without any issue. The coupon was for a free any appetizer when you spend $15, and we chose the mozzarella sticks. We had spent over $15, but when the coupon was attempted, we were told it was only taking off about $4.99. Because of that, the manager ended up removing the coupon entirely instead of honoring it as a free appetizer. In the end, neither coupon was actually used. We also had a second appetizer, the loaded potato waves, but we were told we could not apply the second coupon to it either. Since we had two coupons and ordered two appetizers, we expected both to be honored, but were told that was not allowed. This left us with two unused coupons and we still had to pay a high bill. On top of that, we ordered a Strawberry Coolada Swirl from the bar, and it was left sitting for several minutes before being brought to us. The drink started to melt while it was just sitting there. Our server came to the table asking if we had decided what we wanted to eat, even though the drink was already sitting there. She had to have seen it while walking past and also knew I never received my drink when she brought everyone else's drinks out. Once it was finally addressed, there was no offer to remake it even though it had been sitting and melting due to the delay. To make things worse, I requested my receipt to be texted to my phone number, entered my number at checkout, and I never received it. Overall, my family and I were very dissatisfied with the restaurant and the way the situation was handled. It completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable meal. We expected better customer service and consistency, especially since other Applebee's locations have handled the same type of coupon without any problem. We will not be coming back to this location again. read more

I had such a great experience at the Applebee's in Deptford! It was pretty busy when we arrived, but there was no wait & we were seated right away. Our server, Nicole, was amazing and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! We ended up ordering the Ultimate Trio, and I ordered the Surf & Turf option while my partner opted for a salad. Everything on our table was delicious & got devoured. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium and the shrimp really completed the dish. My favorite thing was probably the Wonton Tacos. They have a nice little kick to them! Super crunchy! I also love that they have Heineken 0.0 for the NA crowd. Our food came out fast and was amazing. I even considered dessert, but we were so full! Ordered takeout and was told the 2 for $27 did not include the appetizer. I contacted on the website and was told someone would respond. The manager of the store actually called me personally and apologized and sent me a gift card because I should have been able to get the appetizer. Almost perfect bar food! We had a family gathering so we ordered a variety of food. The grilled chicken came out perfectly grilled and still juicy! The strawberry- chicken salad was a great combination and good amount of chicken. The burger was cooked to perfection and was tasty. The all you can eat combo was very good. I suggest the Asian- chili sauce was a perfect combo of sweet and heat. The chicken was crisp and tender. The riblet was ok and the meat could have used some seasoning prior to sauce being added. The fried shrimp was tasty. If you order the flavored ice tea ask for extra syrup. Otherwise it tastes like water. The only negative about the whole experience was our server was assigned all over. There's nothing bad I can say about this Applebees! I've been coming here for more than 5 years with my best friends and this place has a special place in our heart, which never seems to change. My one friend and I got the 2 for $27 and ordered the Spinach Artichoke dip, Barbecue Chicken and Shrimp, and the Three Cheese Penne. I would probably say that these three choices were the best options out of all of them mainly because the penne was so filling and the chicken/shrimp was flavorful. Every few months, I meet two of my friends from high school for mini "reunions" over, generally, good meals. This time around, it was one of the guy's turns to pick the restaurant and he chose this one. I'm often biased against establishments like Applebee's since they're so gimmicky, but this location only lacked in one regard: the food... for me. We were seated right away and given waters. Our server was really understanding when our friend was late and we waited some time to order. My one friend raved about his salad -- one with shrimp on it. He inhaled the whole thing while I hardly touched my dish in the meantime. I had ordered the mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken fingers and it had the most peculiar taste to it. I couldn't figure it out until my other friend said he had it before and called it "sweet." Exactly the right word! I definitely was not expecting that and would never order that entree again. I knew the chicken would have have a honey taste, but didn't know it would seep into the pasta portion so much. It was just odd. Applebee's is not my top choice for dining out, nor would I ever go there unless corralled into a visit. This location is convenient in Deptford though -- right between Routes 42 and 55 and near a whole bunch of box stores and the mall. read more

This is the worst Applebee's I have ever been to. We sat at the bar to watch the game and ordered our food fairly quickly after sitting down. 3 other groups of people sat down an ordered food about 20 minutes after us. When the one guy got is food before us I asked about our food and was told that his food was different and different foods are made in other groups. The problem with that was his food was the same as one of our meals. When our food finally came out almost 40 minutes after we ordered 2 of our meals were cold. Asked for new fries cause they were cold and got half an order when almost finished eating. The other groups got their food about 5 minutes after us. Very bad service and the bar wasn't even full. I usually really like Applebee's but I don't reccomend this one at all. read more

Oh Lord - this Applebee's! This was our (2 adults and 3 children) 2nd trip to the Deptford location. Our first visit ---- okay server and my steak (in my 'steak salad') was not rare as I had ordered. After our food finally arrived, we waited a long time for our bill. ~~~~~~~~ 2nd visit - our server was seemingly new and forgot my side salad, forgot one of the kid's meals, messed up an order (no bacon on the vegetarian's wedge salad) and forgot a drink. My steak was somewhat fatty and overcooked again. I didn't even mention it. For all of the screw ups, we got ALL of the kid's meals taken off and my (late arriving & drowned) side Caesar salad. We joked that next time, we'll allot an extra hour onto our arrival time to allow for the mishaps & hopefully another $20 bill for 5 people! read more

Applebee's is one of my favorite but this one is horrible. Picked up my in laws from the air port on the way home stopped for a bit to eat. It was an hour wait because they were short handed which I get its everywhere including my work. We got our food wings were kinds cold and then got my meal and the chicken was raw. Our waitress was very concerned then the Manger came over and just said oh I'm sorry. People can get ready sick from eatting raw chicken. Guess he didn't care. Just make sure you check your food when you go out these days. read more

I liked Applebee's when I went in person but when we had it delivered it was disappointing. My mother and I got the same thing. The mashed potatoes and onion rings were great but the steak was very tough, hard to cut and had absolutely no flavor. Purchased frozen to go cocktails from Applebee's tonight and was told upon arrival that I could not have straws for all four of the drinks I purchased I'm aware of the new New Jersey single use straw ban, but I do know if you ask for one they are legally allowed to give it to you. Sunday night about 5pm coming home from Philly with Grandkids so decided to stop at this Applebees just off the AC Expressway. Busy and a short wait for a table. No problem. Usually no problem at any Applebees, however this one does have some real weaknesses. Service after getting order was was unbearably slow. Took at least 30 min to get food and with 3 - 9 year olds that's a long time. Food at Applebee's is what you would expect, with one exception. I ordered the Shrimp Wonton Stir Fry and there was no spicy dumpling sauce as promised on the menu, but stuff happens. I signaled for waitress and she came right over. Said she would get water for the table and the sauce that was missing. With that she proceed to take an order from the table of 6 behind us and then put that order into the computer near us. So 8 - 10 min goes by and I'm sitting there with a plate of rice veggies and shrimp getting cold. All in all not a very pleasant experience for this Applebees. read more

This apple bees has terrible service. We asked for a table 4 days in advanced. We were told we cannot make reservations that early so we called 2 hours before and asked for a table of 12. They said we will have 3 tables of 4 near eachother when we got there. We got there and had one table and they said only 4 of us can sit and the rest of us had to wait for over an hour. Food is gross for the most part. The french onion soup might as well be made out of sewer water and i have been on the toilet for three days as a result. My sister is also shitting her brains out and all she had was a salad. Service is very friendly, maybe even a little too friendly. One waitress got very close to another patrons baby and had no regard for social distancing guidelines. I hope baby is still alive because she was breathing directly into it's face. 01/09/18 I just came back from Applebees I was a little apprehensive after reading the reviews because I hadn't been there for a while. Well I had nothing to worry about My Husband took me there for my Birthday. No one else there knew it was my Birthday. We had a server named Mo He was a great server. He had a least 5 tables that we saw maybe more that he was waiting on but treated all his customers the same asking always is everything ok do you need any thing else. To me-- Applebees are all the same. Decent food, decent service. I had went here for the event where they were offering free tastes of two of their new items. The smores dippers and Sriracha wings. The sample sizes were kind of disappointing. I guess I had too high expectations. The smores dippers was OK. Nothing too special and I probably wouldn't order them again. The wings were just OK too. I tasted no Sriracha at all. I do like their happy hour specials (and the one after 9 too!). Half price apps and $3 long islands is where it's at. Did a carside to go order recently and if all had gone as planned I would have given it 4 solid stars. The server was friendly and what I ordered was very good! Unfortunately we were given the wrong order. I did not think to check the bag, I assumed everything was correct. I got a couple miles away when my cell phone rang, it was Applebee's telling me that they gave me the wrong food order. I turned around and went back to pick up the correct order. Soon as I pulled up the server came out with the correct order and told me to keep the wrong order. Can't beat free food right? My wife and I both ordered the Chicken and Shrimp Tango that was advertised as new. It was on point. Very good. I am guessing the wrong order we received was a steak with side and salad and a chicken breast with side and salad. Chicken and steak were both dry. Sides were skimpy and the salads were limp and lifeless. I can only hope the guy who ordered that got something better. While it took longer than normal to get our food I was still pleased with what we ordered. Hard for me to complain about what we didn't order but in this case I will. Have ordered carside to go numerous times without a hitch. Hoping this was just a fluke. read more
