As is, the double bacon burger was not salty enough for me, but nothing that can't be fixed with some additional salt. Husband loved his Colorado Burger, our kid loved the chicken fingers. Now, the fries and the haystack onions were amazing! You have to order these. The fries were crisp and perfect. The onions were perfectly seasoned! And that ranch dip? My god! So good. This place is feeling run down. Been here twice in the last couple months and both times the AC is busted and they just has some fans in the 90' dinning room. Condiments not refilled at the tables, no sweetener for the black tea etc. staff isn't rude but clearly just going through the motions and don't really care. Considering how hot it is I'm not sure I can blame them. All this and the prices are like a big bargain or anything either. I can't say it's worth coming back again. The only thing Smashburger had going for them was the crispy onion straws and the actual smashed burgers. The thin crispy onion straws have been replaced by mediocre at best, inedible at worst, thick onion rings. The burger patties seem pre-thin, loosing the smash-like look and appeal. Clean and efficient burger shop that is on a par with 5 Guys. The burgers aren't as customizable, but they are tasty and they have guacamole! And who doesn't love some guac on their "smashed" burger? They also have tater tots, which is obviously a major bonus. And killer Haagen-Daaz milkshakes. Kids meals are $6.99 so a bit pricey. But the food is quality and they have organic juices & milk. Personally the only major downside is they offer salads.... but only have one dressing. Ranch. That's it. I really wanted to like Smachburger, but it's not much better than the other hamburger fast food chains. This location is clean and the staff is friendly. I ordered the double Smash & some Tots. They used to put the burgers in a plastic container, and now they are just wrapped up in paper. It makes for a very messy, dripping sandwich. Although the website indicates this particular sandwich has higher sodium. (I don't know why) I figured it would be comparable to sandwiches of its kind. I was certainly incorrect because all I could do is taste table salt, and it totally took away from the other condiments, toppings and the meat itself. I chose double meat because I remembered that the patties are usually quite thin. The double meat just couldn't make up for the fact that it's a bit chewy. I didn't detect any gristle but it's just not a gourmet burger any how you smash it! Now the Tots were good, they were hot and crispy. Tasty burgers, especially for fast food, but unfortunately on the smaller than expected size. Look the flavor and quality were definitely good, the toppings were nice, I liked the bun, even the salad is large sized. The only problem is - there's just not enough meat! If the burgers were a little larger, I might lean towards 4 stars instead of 3. The restaurant is clean and festive. I thought the service was good. Like many similar places they give you a number to put on your table and deliver your burgers to you when they are freshly cooked. I like that. For some reason they just decided to cut back on the meat itself. I don't know why, I don't know what another ounce or two of meat would really do to the bottom line. It would definitely drive more customers there. But anyway besides that, I found the food to be very satisfying. And the price is reasonable. But I did not get fries. So I can't judge those. You know, sometimes you need a good, old-fashioned fast food burger. Smashburger takes this taste to an elevated place, a la other burger chains like Five Guys and In-n-Out Burger. The difference is the true variety of flavors and options, vs their more sparsely menu'ed counterparts. We've gotten Smashburger takeout in the past month or two - not once, but three times. They are quick, efficient, and importantly these days - good at keeping social distancing in effect. And boy oh boy, were the burgers good. The shakes too. We've been cooking SO much at home (mostly healthy fare), and this was definitely outside of the realm of things we'd make for ourselves - bacon cheeseburgers and onion straws and creamy Oreo cookie milkshakes. If it comes to satisfying a craving, THIS is the thing. If you're looking for healthy, this might NOT be the place, despite the "lower cal" offerings like grilled chicken or turkey burger. Sodium is high, grease even maybe a bit higher. But in the end, to replicate the comfort food in this particular vein of cuisine - those things often go hand in hand. Keep doing you, Smashburger. We haven't been out to eat (inside) since COVID. We had been running around shopping at nurseries in the vicinity and were ready to eat. Checked Smashburger out and could see they were following all COVID-19 protocols, so went in to order. Nick, who took our order, was very positive, upbeat, and professional. We ordered the Classic Smashburger and large fries with drinks. The order arrived quickly and was enjoyed in a safe environment. The only thing I think they could improve upon was the background noise. The highly motivated staff were communicating a little too loud-probably because they had to wear masks. I like burgers. I love good burgers. I adore great burgers. When I heard about SmashBurger, I said to myself, "Self, another foreign burger chain has invaded Jorsey. Maybe it'll be OK, but I don't have high hopes. It's a chain, so it's going to be lame." I was dead wrong. SmashBurger makes an excellent hamburger. It starts with a hand-formed patty (1/2 pound in this case) smashed fairly flat. It's topped with a slice of thickish American cheese, and remarkably fresh veggies -- we're talking truly crisp here. The assembled product is perched atop a fresh Onion bun, and the burger hangs over the bun about 3/4" on all sides. Interestingly enough, this burger doesn't come across at all as an upscale burger. It's more of a traditional, down-home griddled burger, but prepared with remarkable balance and attention to detail. How's it taste? Superb. The beef is griddled expertly, with plenty of ooze left. The cheese/beef combination approaches the Golden Mean; the combined flavor was about as dead-on as could be. The super fresh veggies added their flavors to the mix, but everything stayed distinct. Five Guys, and the rest of the top notch burger joints around the are now have a new, serious competitor. SmashBurger nails the beef/cheese ratio and the combined flavor is really excellent. I think this is the best chain burger in town. Smashburger's consistent approach really is. I'll be naming Smashburger as my favorite. (Update: A friend pointed out that I'd not mentioned the fries, and that is a mistake that should be corrected. The Smashfries are unique and delicious. It's cone of paper (artfully presented in an iron holder) filled with thinish, machine-cut fries, probably thawed and fried. The magic is in the execution: They're fried perfectly; crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and then seasoned with rosemary, olive oil, and sea salt. Very unique, and a wonderful counterpoint to the great burger.) The biggest fault? The location. They're at Delsea Drive & William Dalton Drive Glassboro N.J.. Pretty good place here. The lobby is nice and the ordering system with table delivery is convenient. There seemed to be plenty of seats even though the line made it seem it was busy. It was a bit cold in the dining area, though. I had the Liberty burger, it was good, but I wasn't blown away. The fries were good. I didn't have a milkshake but my party mentioned it was excellent. The fires are shoestring (both regular and sweet potato). The cheese sauce is straight up Cheez Whiz (the brand, not some other cheese sauce), so avoid it if you don't like Whiz. If you order something without or with something additional (i.e. 'no tomato') make sure the cashier rings it up while you order, as it won't show on your copy of the receipt. read more

This was our first visit. The food was excellent. Honestly, my burger was way better than I even expected. It had really good flavor and was cooked perfectly. My son enjoyed his kids meal burger and fries. My daughter had the kids chicken strips and tots. She liked the tots but was disappointed they don't have honey mustard for the chicken. My husband had the NJ burger and mostly enjoyed it although he said his was a bit overcooked. The service was very friendly. You order at the counter and then they bring the food to your seat. Workers checked on us multiple times and they were all very nice. My only complaint and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that they advertised on the electronic board in their restaurant that kids eat free on Tuesday's with the purchase of an adult meal. We purchased two adult meals and two kids meals and were charged for all of it. When we inquired about the advertised special we were told that the deal had been discontinued and they refused to honor it. It was still right on the digital sign by their menu. It had no expiration date listed. I feel that advertising a special and then refusing to honor it is extremely dishonest and very poor business. This Smashburger is the closest one to home on the New Jersey side of the river, so I really want to like it. Unfortunately, they don't seem to want to clean the tables promptly. When I go there, I keep seeing tables that are either stacked with trays and trash from previous customers or tables that are greasy and full of crumbs, and I end up having to wipe a table myself. Ordering was pretty efficient and their employees are nice and helpful. The restaurant is set up in a fast casual style, where you order at the register and take a number to a table. Then they bring the burger out from the kitchen to you once it's ready. You have choices in patty and ingredients (some free and some extra), so you can make a burger any way you want. However, they have a selection of named burgers with pre-constructed lists of ingredients, so you can save time by picking one of those. There is usually one special burger for the region and sometimes a limited-time special burger, although I don't see why you couldn't get both of those any time and anywhere just by specifying the right list of ingredients. IMHO, the key to enjoying Smashburger is the Sin City Burger. I tried all their named burgers and some regional burgers, but none were really that great, except for Sin City from their secret menu. This is supposedly the regional burger for Las Vegas, so it makes me wonder what's on the secret menu over there. Overall, it's an average Smashburger location. I just wish they'd work on cleaning the tables a bit more. read more

This place makes a nice first impression when you walk in with its red light fixtures and red seat cushions. This added a nice pop of color. I ordered a New Jersey burger and smash fries (rosemary, olive oil, and garlic). The burgers comes in two sizes: smash and big smash. I decided to go with the big smash. Let me tell you, this is a big burger. It's only one patty, but it is a big, wide, smashed, burger. The New Jersey burger has too many ingredients and the blue cheese had a weird taste. I was kicking myself for not ordering a cheeseburger. Oh well, you live and you learn. My fries tasted great! I scarfed them down. Their milkshakes look scrumptious and they use Haagen-Dazs to boot. The only reason I am giving SB more than the minimum one star is because the chicken on the sandwich I had was fresh and juicy and cooked to perfection and was on a soft and fresh onion bun, which I love. Otherwise, my first and last SB experience was zero stars. I love me some onion straws/rings (called haystack onions at SB). So, I was doubly excited to find that I could order a sandwich (New Jersey Chicken) that had them on it as well as a side order. Can you say SALT?! I mean, I like salt, but hello?! Way too much. I have had burgers from Smashburger twice before so I decided to try one of their chicken sandwiches. My family and I placed our order online and were given a pick up time. Everything was ready to go and in individual bags upon picking it up and we figured we were good to go. Once we got home I realized my order was missing fries and my sandwich was missing cheese ( both were listed on my receipt). No one felt like driving back so we let it go and I added cheese from my fridge. My sister in law LOVED her avocado chicken sandwich. Mine was decent although adding my own cold cheese from the fridge interfered a bit. I actually didn't mind not receiving my fries ( wish I hadn't paid for them though) because I'm not a fan of the skinny shoestring style they serve and I totally forgot about that. Very good burger nicely seasoned too with lettuce tomato onions smash sauce and pickles on a nice bun. Got a side order of smash fries which are thin crispy and seasoned with rosemary and garlic. Let me say I love thin crispy fries but on this visit I think the Frye's could have used more of that yummy seasoning. We were waited on immediately and food was brought out right away.
