Called Up Tricia And Explained That The Queso Burger Was Missing And She Had No Problem Preparing Another. On The Way Back I Looked At The Receipt To See If I Was Even Charged For It And Noticed I Was Also Missing The Fish And Chips! Called Tricia Up Again And She Was Slightly Confused On How Two Items Were Missing But Said No Problem. I Got There And Picked Up My Missing Items And Even Got Some Free Fries. Assured Tricia That This One Bag I Got Is Full And That Those Two Items Couldn't Have Fit In As Well And I Explained Maybe It Was Given To The Other Customer Parked Next To Me Or Inside Waiting But She Explained They Only Had One Item And That There's Nothing Waiting On The Window Inside Either. I never really have very high expectations of restaurants like Applebee's. About the best thing you can say is that they tend to be reliably similar. In Hanford you have very limited choice unless you want Mexican or Chinese so we wind up at this Applebee's several times a month. In the past I would have probably rated this one two, at best three stars. The foods reliable and the service is okay. However on our last two visits I've been pretty disappointed. I admit my preferred cocktail is a Manhattan. Pretty simple, bourbon or whiskey, sweet vermouth, and a few shakes of bitters sometimes. A few weeks ago I ordered my manhattan as usual but shortly the waitress returned to inform me that they were out of sweet vermouth. When I expressed my surprise that they had run out of something that used to be a bar staple she said, "oh, I don't think we're ordering it anymore, it's kind of old fashioned. " she asked what I would like instead and I declined a substitute cocktail. Now a bottle of sweet vermouth retail is something like $7.00-8.00 dollars. Probably $5.00-6.00 for Applebee's and it has a pretty long shelf life. I told the waitress I hoped they would change their mind and once again stock it. Two nights ago I returned. I ordered a manhattan and was once again informed that they no longer stock sweet vermouth. We may go back, I really don't know, but not stocking a five dollar bottle of vermouth fells like they really don't care and so I wonder why I should care about them. read more

Today I requested to go to AppleBees and what a mistake. The restaurant cannot be at fault about the flies, but the customer service. I am very disappointed in the customer service that I received today. The first problem was requested another table due to sitting in the sun & right in front of the industrial fan We were told we would have to go back on waiting list for a different table. At that time it was 6 - 8 empty tables. We were a party of 4 & initially given only 3 napkins when asked. The customer service was just poor We had to ask for EVERYTHING. Honestly ... this place is wack! I went there with my friend who I hadn't seen in a while . I wanted to show her a good time and instead I had poor service and really dry steak. I asked our service to please make medium rare and they both came our well done. It also took 40 minutes before I asked our host to get out server. She never should up instead a manager showed up with a ton of excuses. I'm sorry but does not take 40 minutes for 2 8 oz steaks . Our server never showed again. I always sit at the bar and service usually takes a long time even when the bar area isn't that busy. Food is typical for an Applebee's chain. Consistent with other locations I've been to. Wait staff is kind and respectful. They have good happy hour specials and it's a good spot to watch the football games throughout the week and on Sundays also during baseball season it's a good alternative to Buffalo Wild Wings. I come here often but it's mostly out of convenience. My biggest complaint is slow service when it isn't really busy. Everything else is pretty good. Place is clean. Appetizers are tasty. Soups and salads are great. Entrees I never have had a problem with. The last few times I have been here service time has improved greatly. I would recommend it for families and small get togethers. My grandmother was in town visiting and since we'd gone to Chili's a couple times already we thought we'd go to Applebee's (my husband and I hadn't been to one in years). Our waitress was pretty rude. Not friendly, not one smile, wasn't happy. I understand that working in a restaurant isn't the highlight of anyone's day, but good customer service is important whether you're having a good day or not. My grandmother ended up not liking a part of her dish and told the waitress and she just said, "I'm sorry" then walked away. There wasn't a "Can I get you something else?" They literally rush you through your orders. Food is mediocre, at best. There are waitress that are experienced and is fully aware of customer service (example: Courtney and Amanda) however, sad to say a bad experience not just from myself but others is enough to stray away from this restaurant. In particular Danny that was working on the first Sunday of December 2013. I'll probably go back for drinks at the bar only, if invited by others. Wife and two boys and I went here the other day. No one was at the front desk, but about 3-4 from the bar area/register closest to the restroom seen us and didn't bother to come up to the front desk. I started to find the phone number to call and let them know we were waiting and someone came up before I could find the #. My boyfriend and I had dinner because we had a gift card. We decided to go for the 2 for $20 menu. We ordered the mozarella sticks as our shared appetizer. The mozzarella sticks were nothing special - just you're run of the mill frozen mozzarella sticks, dunked in a fyer and served with warmed up probably canned marina sauce. We were both shocked by the number of mozzarella sticks served - it was way more than enough for two and would easily work as an app for 4. For our entrees, I ordered the Asian Chicken salad and he ordered the sirloin. Both of use were incredibly disappointed with our meals. First, I don't think some lettuce with a few carrot shavings sufficiently qualifies as "salad." In my opinion, you need a larger variety of produce or it's just protein served on a bed of lettuce. Second, the only "Asian" thing about this "salad" was the sprinkling of fried noodles. There were no mandarin oranges or anything else as you might expect. Lame. Also, the sliced almonds they added weren't toasted and were completely lacking flavor. The breaded chicken was also flavorless. I guess they were depending on the fact that you would drowned your salad in the sickly sweet honey mustard dressing and therefore be satisfied? I was not. I eventually gave up eating and opted to go to bed hungry. My boyfriend's sirloin came with 2 sides. He opted to pay $1 more and have one of the sides be a salad, but he said it wasn't worth it. His side salad was lame in the same way my dinner salad was - hardly any produce. I guess Applebee's makes salads for people that hate veggies? His baked potato was tasteless, served with a blob of sour cream and a pat of butter that added nothing. Finally, his sirloin was overcooked and as he said, "just bad....it's just bad. I'm done eating this." Despite the fact that both of us left large portions of our meal and refused to-go boxes, no one ever asked us if something was wrong or really inquired about our meal at all. Horrible service on the car side to go. I arrived at the time that was stated my order would be ready and checked in by text and by clicking the link in the text. 30 minutes go by and nothing, so I call to check on my order and they ask which to go spot I'm in and since they only have 2 spots that are marked for that they were both taken so I said I'm in a regular parking spot. They then tell me they can't go that far and asked me to come in. I ordered car side to go for a reason but it wouldn't have been that big of a deal had they told me that 30 minutes ago when I had checked in. I go in and they hand me a taped up bag and I get home only to find I'm missing 4 of the meals I ordered and the rest of the food was cold and soggy. The delightful aroma of a wood burning grille in use greeted me as my wife and I walked from the car to the door of Applebee's. Skeptical of their recent advertising campaign touting their new menu with entrees prepared on their new wood fired grille, we were there armed with a birthday gift card from my daughter & family, and we're ready to put them to the test. Their new grilled pork chop with honey Apple chutney looked great on the menu picture and I opted for that. I also chose the sides which were pictured with it - garlicky green beans and mashed sweet potatoes wit some kind of maple pecan sauce. I was not disappointed. The meal looked exactly like the picture which is unusual in today's food advertising. My wife ordered a Thai themed shrimp salad that also was excellent. Service was good - timing, considering the wood fired grille doesn't have a micro wave in it was good also. Prices were fair. Shady restaurant!!! Beware of curbside ordering and check your orders as they may fail to give you everything you paid for. No apology from 1st employee who u spoke w regarding the experience. It's been over 4 days and still waiting on my refund for a missing item and Mathew the manager stated he would call to give me status on the refund yet no updates after giving him a whole day to call back as he stated he would. They need to practice empathy as im sure if customer does not pay for food ordered they would contact police but what about when u paid for food and they neglect and fail to give you refund for the missing food item after they said they would or even the courtesy call as I waited for the call of refund status. Service and food really sucked tonight!!! Waiter fumbled about and was flustered about getting a second party in his section. This resulted in his bringing the second party's table settings to my table. I redirected him to the other table. Upon asking for water in addition to my dinner drink, his reply was rather rude and dismissive, saying it would be a "long time on the water because he was busy. A female staff coming by overheard and returned with the water. I ordered a rare steak and rec'd medium, ordered blackened shrimp and rec'd breaded shrimp. While there I saw an old friend who sat at the table and spoke about another friend that had passed away. This waiter became intrusive as he came by getting nosey about who it was that died! I asked another passing female staff to send a manager to the table! Moments later the asst mgr came by apologized for his behavior and the food errors! A few minutes had gone by and the general manager came to the table. She stated she'd heard there was a problem and wanted to clarify if there was any racial discrimination ! Well this both shocked me and pissed me off! I can't say what may have been conveyed by the asst mgr, but she twisted it like that kids game "telephone"! How you can turn my saying he was intrusive and could use a little retraining and he was just a goofy kid...no big deal, into racial discrimination is beyond me! A decent Applebee's with a lot of shenanigans on the wall to occupy your eyes. The service is generally good and if sitting at the bar, the bartenders do a good job at keeping the drinks strong. Occasionally "Bent Fender" will play a show here, providing some classic rock and blues for your enjoyment out on the patio and there is all-night happy hour. Pros: Nice atmosphere, great servers. Cons: Sort of dirty and cluttered compared to other Applebees. Cloak anecdote: It's confirmed: the people here think I'm a mental patient. Don't ask. Actually, do ask. It's a funny story. This place has definitely improved over the years in every way. The servers are great, the food is good. Although I love the decor, it's a bit too cluttered and makes the entire place feel dirty. Maybe they should tone it down a bit? This Applebee's is fantastic! We are traveling with our dog, so finding a place that accommodates is extremely hard. I called and asked if they could serve us on the patio ( they did last year), and they said they could even though they didn't have an assigned server. When we arrived it was pretty busy. The bartender Jen (holla) served us. She is fantastic! There were two gentlemen that also checked in on us too. Jen was so sweet and even brought some cold water for our dog. Great place for happy hour! I love their drink and appetizer deals, though I wish the appetizer list was a bit bigger. They used to include the cheeseburger sliders (which are delicious) but not anymore! Now don't get me wrong, I typically have a good time here. The staff is, for the most part, friendly and attentive. One lady by the name of Star is particularly cool. But once, and only once, I had a less enjoyable experience.
