This place was meh at best. I got there me around 9:30 and it wasn't too busy. I walked in and didn't see anyone at the greeter station until the hostess got up off the bench customers sit on while waiting, putting her phone in her pocket. Strike 1. She seated me and it took quite a while for my server Brittany to come by my table. Again this place wasn't that busy. She took my order, a burger, water, and a high noon, not that she knew what flavors they had. It took a minute for her to figure it out. Again took a while for me to even get the water. AND she didn't even say anything, just put both beverages on the table. Strike 2. My burger was good, and she gave me a fork, though I could have used a knife too. Guess I could have asked too. When she brought my food, she stopped by 10 seconds later to ask if I was good. I had barely looked at my food, it wasn't until I was almost done (like last couple bites) did she come back. Pretty standard Applebee's.  Arrived on a Tuesday evening in November, it was Veterans day so it was actually very crowded and we had to wait a couple of minutes for a table, not sure how it would be on a normal weekday.  Service was decent.  Standard menu.  Salmon was a bit overcooked, but fine.  They were out of the broccoli side, but enjoyed my sub of a tomato basil soup.  they were also out of the first beer I ordered, but had the backup I asked for. read more

The service here is terrible our waitress has walked past us so many times never got refills the food just sat on the table we have been here for probably two hours just waiting on dessert now. They are not busy at all barely anyone at the bar too. I'm very disappointed. read more

The service was great as I just had lunch at Applebee's in Highland Heights, Ky. 41076, (2/18/2026) however I ordered the classic cheeseburger and this burger was so greasy that the grease got all over the fries and it's still coating my lips as I type this review. Everything was good except for the grease and I really wish the chief would have taken a few paper towels or something and gotten the grease off of this burger as of course with hamburger you expect some grease but this was really bad and other than that not a bad experience but certainly the grease is why I took away a star. Other than that I do recommend this Applebee's. Tried to contact them but every time I tried when I got to the location no matter what I typed in the website wouldn't go any further so I thought I would write this review instead... I use to really enjoy Applebee's but will say it continues to go downhill. We came out later in the evening and wish I would have chosen someplace else to eat. The restaurant was not the cleanest, the food was sub-par, and the service felt like we were just a bother to our waitress. I ordered a Blue Moon (they didn't have oranges for that ‍) onion rings, chicken tenders and fries. It took a long time to come out because we were told the fries were still being cooked. When we got the fries they were still raw in the middle...so we had to wait for more to be cooked. When those came out, they were somewhat better but still slightly raw in the middle. The onion rings and chicken tenders were decent but not worth the price you're paying when you seemed to be frozen and then just deep fried. I hope that the restaurant can turn things around. Slightly chilled beer, underwhelming food, and workers who did not seem to enjoy their job did not make for a great night. I rarely give a one star but feel like I have to in hopes that again the restaurant can show improvement. Thank you read more

Much better experience this time. Service , food and drinks were very good even though they were short staffed with a decent crowd to serve.

The last time that I came to this restaurant, the staff were very short with my party and the staff acted put out to even talk to us. We had not even been seated yet -- we had been standing by the entrance, just waiting to be seated! The restaurant was actually mostly empty and my party had waited a good 15 minutes before we were even ACKNOWLEDGED by the staff. There was a guy with his son in front of my party that has apparently been waiting a while too that finally got seated. This is the first time that I've ever had truly BAD service here to the point where I think that people need to avoid this restaurant at all costs. In fact, my group was treated so bad by the staff that we left and took our appetites and food money elsewhere, with an agreement to not eat here for a while or maybe never again. We received much better service at the other restaurant that we ended up at that same day! Don't eat at this restaurant, unless you want to be mistreated by the staff. I mean, I know that everybody has a bad day now and again, but it's not a good thing to act like the people that are actually paying your salary stink or are an inconvenience to wait on here, which is how the staff came across to us when we were there. Came here to watch college football, drink cold drafts, and all you can eat boneless wings. Applebees was only able to hold up part of the bargain on this... Unfortunately for me only one of their tvs was operational at the bar and that one didn't get ESPN due to direct tv signal issues.... Which it just so happen the game we wanted to watch was on ESPN... they made no effort to fix the issue and just said our tvs are always messed up. Drafts were cold and wings were ok but cold frys as well. We cashed out and moved on to a great neighborhood bar down the street called Macs. We were there for 15 minutes didn't get a hi hello how are you didn't even get drinks they kept walking past us ignoring us and they were not even busy. Edit/ we went to LaRosa's they were busy almost every table taken we got sat right away got greeted by our waitress and got our drinks then ordered our appetizer and food we got it all within 15 mins but sitting for 15 mins at Applebees couldn't even be greeted by our waitress or get our drinks. I am not even lying - The Homestyle Chicken Irresista-bowl is one of the best things I've ever eaten, ever lol. I know it's so hard to review a chain but this Applebee's is very good. The people who work here are all very nice and service is fast. I've never had to wait for a table here either. When I go I usually always go for happy hour because of the half off appetizers and drinks. This trip I had the wonton tacos, they were so good! They were a wonton wrapper that had been deep fried into the shape of a taco shell, filled with chicken that tasted like it had a teriyaki sauce on it and a kind of cloeslaw on top. Applebee's is a great cheap place just to relax with a beer and watch the game. Just make sure you get some of those tacos, they are great! read more

Food tasted like dog food. Had to wait half an hour for a table. There was only 3 staff members. I got the all you can eat wings and the first portion was pretty decent size but there was a hair in my wing and I accidently ate it. I ordered again in hopes to get to get my food in about 30 minutes but it took an hour and this time they gave us no fries and only 5 wings. There was supposedly all you can eat fries and we asked them about it and there excuse was that they were to busy in the kitchen when there was like 5 other tables there. I ordered for a 3rd time and it took an hour and half to get the food and they only gave me 3 wings. The staff was extremely lazy and never took the dirty plates at the end of the table. On New Years Day we stopped in for drinks and lunch at about 1PM. Few people in the restaurant. We sat at the bar which had no other patrons and no bartender. Waited about 10 minutes and 3 women came out of the kitchen carrying plates to a bar area table where 5 women were seated. WTF. One of those servers was apparently the bar tender who shouted over to us that she would be there in a moment. In 3-5 minutes she showed up in the bar. We asked about the house wine and she said it was Bare Foot which is cheap & terrible. We asked about other wines available and the bartender said they did not have most of the wine on the wine list. Overall i'd say that this is a nice place but i'd also have to say that this place is small, tight or to put it nicely , very cozy. the food is okay, prices are as expected and the atmosphere & the wait staff are very pleasant. if you're eating by yourself or on a date then it's comfortable but if you got 3 or more people in your party or someone in a wheelchair, things start to get kind of tight. it's more of a restaurant than a bar, so if you go there to watch the game, don't expect to be able to hear it over the muzak which was at a good level for conversation. the only thing that is not on their menu but they desperately need is more room. read more

Holy hell. I hate leaving yelp reviews. But I leave then on occasion when I've experienced the closest extent to hell on earth within an establishment. I has mac and cheese here which was watery and tasted like something I'd be ashamed to serve someone myself. I ordered a shot of bourbon which came in the form of a watered down double shot even though I quite specifically ordered a single. I brought it up with our waitress and she instantly transitioned from friendly to irritated and impatient. I will mention as well that my table was as polite as can be and hardly mentioned the issue with the shots we were served. I was shocked at the look I received upon mentioning I received something I hadn't asked for. I would not reconsider t this restaurant and you will never catch me dead inside this place again. Was going to give a 4 star because of its standardness but she earned the extra star for them. Very helpful even offering up graham crackers for out baby. This location is terrible!!! When looking for a quick and easy place to eat at for dinner we had settled on Applebee's. We went online and attempted to place an online order multiple times. I tried 3 times online on multiple different devices (2 cellphones and a laptop). Each time I tried I received a different error notification- something went wrong with the billing info, even though there was no error made after double checking, and then another error saying we couldn't place an online order and that we would need to call in to place an order). After being already irritated with the online order difficulties, I decided to simply call in my order instead. I did that fine with no issues. Who I spoke with in the phone was very polite and helpful. When my boyfriend walked inside to pick up our order they greeted him by name (per the name in the ticket) and gave us our order rather quickly. While he was inside I waited in the car, while waiting I went onto my mobile banking app only to notice my card in which I used to pay appeared to have been charged multiple times. I assumed this had something to do with all the failed/error online attempts from ordering online. Which of the order was rejecting, I don't see how this would even be able to show up in my bank statement. I called and spoke to their GM who assured me I was and would be charged only once and explained in great detail what had actually happened with the online order. When we got home, we were finally ready to enjoy our meal, only they had given us the wrong order-Imagine that! The order we received, according to receipt in the bag, was about a 30 dollar order while our actual order was about 50 dollars worth of food. We drove back to the restaurant and I went inside and explained what had happened with my order mix up. They apologized and had fixed the order (this time I went through both bags (that's another thing the first time, when given the wrong order, we walked out with only one bag, so I think that should have told the person who gave out the wrong order that something wasn't right. Anyways we got home and sat down to eat but the food itself was just awful. The chicken was burned to a black crisp and had an awful overly-salted taste, and the meat in my pasta was not the same as what was shown in the picture. The picture had shown chunks of meat where as I received shredded meat. This was by far the WORST experience I've had at any Applebee's location ever. We definitely will NOT be returning to this location. read more

The only positive thing I can say about this place is that they participate in dining fundraisers for local schools/non-profits. Also, the only reason I went here. I try not to be a total chain snob; there are some good ones, but even my chain-loving husband declared this place the worst of the bunch. Our server was sweet, but clearly had too many tables. Menu options are legion, which is clearly part of the problem. They do everything and therefore nothing well. My son's kid's meal grilled chicken was the only tasty thing for our entire table. So, go if you must for a local fundraiser, but other than that, don't bother. read more

As most know Applebees experiences tend to be very mixed. I always praise exceptional experiences and normally let poor ones go. However when food on the the order isn't delivered (promised by waitress' assistants) and food is undercooked I feel the need to call this out. Or waitress was fine, a good server, but the manager refused to take a dime off because some of it was eaten. No explanation offered for why not delivering the fries was apparently normal. I will be watching my family closely for stomach illness in the next few days. I would recommend anyone that ate there tonight to do the same. (We had fish and chips). So we walked in place was barely a quarter full with customers. We waited about 4 minutes before we was greeted and asked if we wanted a table, booth, or a high top. We asked for a table or booth as we don't like high top stools, they aren't comfortable. She said ok wait a minute and I'll check on a table or booth. Then we heard her telling the waitress that she had 2 for a table or booth to which she replied she just got sat and for her to take us, but she was working bar area with high tops which the other waitress didn't like that we wanted table or booth. So after hearing this and waiting 5 minutes with not even a look toward us we decided it was best to take our business else where. We were served a delicious meal, and on our way home, our grandson noticed the championship ring from his weekend baseball tournament was missing. He had placed it in his back pocket after showing us at the table. We searched the car, and immediately returned to restaurant. Server looked under table, manager even searched garbage can! A second check in car located ring...stuck between seat cushions. Wanted to express our appreciation, and apologize to staff for my actions. Grandson and grandma both learned a lesson tonight.
