greeted at the door with a smile on a sunday evening around 730pm, requested patio seating as it was beautiful outside and the patio had ample seating, was able to get seated within 10 minutes and drink after another 5. the server did get my sampler out rather quickly but everything i chose seemed like a frozen gfs quality, the breading on all of my picks was bland and not flavorful, the mac and cheese bites were decent at best and those were the best of the 3 picks. the wings were pretty decent as i ordered 10, 5 carolina gold and 5 jerk, they were crispy and juicy and had plenty of sauce, served in a bowl which I always appreciate! the dining area was clean and service was friendly. overall it was a good dinner read more

I've been coming here for years and the wings are the best. The rest of the menu is mediocre. Service is good unless you sit in the bar area which we did tonight. We've been regulars in the bar area for quite some time but tonight will be my last. Our experience was typical, and honestly I'm done. Here's what you can expect. After drinking at a bar table for over an hour, the bartender comes over and asks if I want another beer. I said "actually we'd like to order some food". Her response, "I'm only getting drinks right now ". And the look on her face was scolding me for asking. As a retired Quality Assurance Manager I can tell you the root cause of this problem. I've seen it at many other places. The bartender should not be waiting tables. There is only one and she has to serve drinks for the entire restaurant and the bar. The tables are the straws that break the camel's back. Bottom line is I'm the customer. Both bartenders that work here will make you kiss their butts and will still treat you like crap. My advice, sit outside or in the dining area and enjoy some really good wings. Do not sit in the bar area! read more

I'd been hearing for years how great their wings were and a friend and I decide to try them out. Place was packed so expecting pretty good wings....not. Caribbean sauce was inedible. Fries were decent. Potato skins were like actual potatoes, not skins. The shrimp was decent too. Wings seemed to be boiled and medium was barely hot at all. Ranch and blue cheese were not good. I really expected more and will not be turning. Plus we sat for over 10 minutes until someone waited on us and never checked in, just brought the check. I didn't try very exciting food during my visit here but I can safely say it's worth visiting for the vibe if you like the "hole in the wall" type atmosphere, in the best way possible. This seems like the perfect place to watch a Bengals game (during a good season). I tried the Cesar salad on my visit and it was good. We were randomly in the area for a baseball game and unfamiliar with food options in the area. I like to find local non chain options and was very glad we stumbled upon Knuk-N-Futz. First, my children had fun with the name and felt like they were getting away with words they should not say. Second, the service was very accommodating and quick. We surprised them with a party of 15 and they were more than accommodating to get us in as fast as they could. Third, the food was amazing. The wings were some of the best in the Cincinnati area. Knut Eggz (jalapeño poppers) were some of the best I've ever had. My Buffalo chicken samezz was awesome as well. Fourth, the value for what you get is amazing. Food was good. Had the 10 piece schwings with the Cajun Parmesan sauce and my wife had the schwing salad with chicken parts on it. All was great. Service was good. Inside is ok. Would have given 5 stars but the AC inside needs help. I know it's summer and we were sweating inside. Probably would have bought a few more beers but couldn't take the indoor temperature anymore. I've been here twice. I barely ate the first time and don't really remember it too well, this time, I ate quite a bit. Fully honest, I did not like this food at all. I ordered: Mott Sticks Mac N cheese Bites Small Boneless wings Water The water tasted very chemically, so either their source wasn't rinsed right after cleaning or the cups, but that was pretty frustrating. The wings, I got "Kevin's heaven" and it was just genuinely a bunch of spices mixed together and it was all over the place, and was really dry. So I tried dipping in ranch and their ranch was disgusting like cheese taste. The Mac n cheese bites was literally fried Kraft Mac n cheese and that was nasty. The sauce for my friend's jalapeño poppers was terrible, the mott sticks were actually pretty good but that's because it's the same Mott sticks so many other places use it's just decent basic and standard. Genuinely a terrible FOOD experience, however my waiter was absolutely amazing. Running around refilling drinks didn't forgetting anything at all, amazing service and waiter but my actual food experience just was not good. They claim (on the wall) they have the best wings in the country, this is just not the case. read more

Come on guys. HIGHLY disappointed and won't order takeout on a game night again. Best wing spot in NKY! Wings are crispy, sauces are great. Servers are always super nice, and carry out workers are awesome (shout out to Tim!) Jalapeños are delicious with their sweet sauce, burgers are great! I've heard the ribs are to die for but I've never gotten the chance to get them as they sell out super fast it seems! The winner here was the blue cheese. The traditional wings which were Buffalo style had sat in the kitchen before I got them. They were dried out and frankly no better than a few other bars I've been to on the area. The curly fries were broken so they needed a fork to be eaten as there were very few that actually looked like a pigs tail. I wouldn't come here again if I was going for the wings. Great food and friendly service. We enjoyed the wings after hearing from our friends how great they were. They did not disappoint!

After a long time of hearing how good they were I decided to give them a shot. Ordered wings and fries. Cajun fries were as one would expect, No complaints these are an easy add on I would always recommend. The wings on the other hand. First things first zero crisp. They might as well have been boiled. That probably means they're cooking too many at once and the temperature drops when they put them in. Good problem they're busy, bad means the quality suffers. Smaller batches with time for the fryers to stay piping hot will fix this. Secondly, the sauce just didn't get into these wings. There was so much under them but just nothing that got into the skin to make them memorable. It was my first time so I went medium. I could have probably gone into anything above and barely felt the heat these were so bland, the BBQ was better but just nothing memorable. The Blue cheese would have been better if they poured it from a bottle. No acid, no tang from the blue. Just a sour creamy mishmash that Kraft has done better. Even if it's house made, that doesn't mean it's good. Im so let down after all the hype I had heard. The ambiance is perfect to be a place that should be a hidden gem but it just didn't deliver for me I got carryout so I can't exactly bury them in a lower rating because in person it might swing upwards a little being more fresh so I'm willing to try again. But there are better wings in NKY that deserve more attention than here. Service was awesome and they took care of me quickly and had plenty of parking. The only reason they aren't getting five stars is their phone system. It can routinely take 30 or 40 attempts to get through - please modernize! Imagine hot cheese sauce, butter, with minced garlic?*) Ceasar salad: 2 (fresh lettuce, yet toppings were boring) Black and bleu burger: 3 (An average dissected hamburger. Bleu cheese tasted better on its own.) Kajun fries: 4.5 (Soft yet crisp, good taste of potato, different, and nice portions. So addictive.) Kajun Ranch Boom (sauce for wings) 1.5 (Not a fan. I find it too thick and the spice overpowers any other flavors.) I like what they have done with the outside seating since my last visit. There are tiers to dining. While emphasis is often put on fine dining, the essential function of the local tavern is overlooked in its importance to the American experience as a whole. The food at Knuk-n-Futz is exceptional in the staff's ability to present what could be considered merely bar food as something transcendent of that concept, without losing the identity of what you're eating. It is bar food. But it is bar food that is so much better than the normal fare. There is thought and intention in the selections, and again, I'm not pretending this is fine dining food prepared by a "chef," but this is food in its wheelhouse EXECUTED FLAWLESSLY, every time. There is clearly a standard that is held. I have tried literally every food item on the menu and I can't say I was ever disappointed, beyond the fact that I knew what I was ordering was not my favorite anyway. I just wanted to get a clear idea of how good everything outside their wings is, and honestly, across the board I enjoyed it all. Nothing on the menu was ever anything but it's own kind of delicious. That said, the wings are what set Knuk-n-Futz apart from other establishments. Always crispy and delicious, every sauce seems to be expertly crafted. I would absolutely put them up against any in the greater Cincinnati region. Some of the sauces, particularly the Kajun Garlic Parmesan and the Solar Flare, should be bottled and sold. Pure perfection. Knuk-n-Futz is pulsating with locals on any given night and for many seems to be, in its own way, a centerpiece of the community. There is a "Cheersian" aspect to the place. Somewhere when you walk in the door, if you've been there just a few times, everybody knows your name and the drink of your choice is in front of you within minutes of your arrival, even if you didn't ask for it. The service is exactly what the demographic demands, the anticipation of their needs, the correct assumption of their next question. While sitting in the dining room may result in simply great service, service in the bar area, when Elisha is working especially, is always entertainingly excellent. It is exactly what the diners want, including those who wait on the outskirts of the room waiting for a table on any given night. But it is especially important for those who consider this place their local watering hole, their oasis in the middle of the modern American working class desert. If I'm not mistaken, this establishment has nearly burned to the ground multiple times. Many others would have perished under these circumstances, but not Knuk 'n' Futz. The incredible food, service, communal nature, and utter necessity of this place in Taylor Mill will keep it alive for years and years to come. read more

Perhaps I've become jaded by a nationally named "Buffalo" wing place...so expectations were average...but DANG! The service, the food and the experience have opened my eyes as to how a wing joint/hole in the wall/bar should be. Service The server was at our table within 30 seconds of our sitting down. She brought the drinks right back and I had ordered some pretzels & beer cheese dip. She was gone maybe 3 minutes and the appetizer arrived and she took our order. She was pleasant and helped navigate the menu. My salad showed up in minutes. And our meal? Arrived in less than 5 minutes. The speed was incredible! From seated to finished eating it was less than 25 min...like what?! That's unheard of! And everyone helped everyone...for Refills, bussing the tables and more. Food/flavor Amazing! We loved being able choose the heat along w the flavor. The beer cheese was great. While the salad was average, it's a perfect side. Now the chicken...we both had boneless-but the chicken was so tender and flavorful..again..hello! Atmosphere We love dive bars...but this was clean with a bunch of knickknacks around the room making it feel chill. I just wish we didn't live so far away, as this would be a frequent occurrence. Great chicken wings, appetizers, and ribs! It's been a while since my last visit here due to not having a pleasant last experience with some dried out wings, however, tonight was much improved! The wings were juicy and cooked just right. We just ordered a bunch of appetizers this go round because we weren't really hungry; it all hit the spot. I recommend the fries pickles, which are giant few fried pickle spears instead of the typical chip style. You can't go wrong with the wings and they have a large selection of sauces. The only reason for the 4* instead of 5* is the place was not really clean, outdated tables/chairs, I'm not a fan of all the tacky items hanging on the wall collecting dust over my food, and there is no windows in the place so it's like eating in a cave. Maybe eating on the new patio next time will fix almost this!? Regardless, it's still a 4* for the food and the services. Shout out to Amber for providing an excellent meal experience!
