Today is March 15, 2020 with the Coronavirus raging rapidly my trusted friend and I remain unphased. We figured we'd go check out Applebee's 25 cent wings deal... why the FUCK did we do that? We enter the location only to be greeted by a creature straight out of the lagoon. Seated at a naked unwashed table and provided sticky menus. We were assigned a poor excuse for a waitress who didn't administer silverware and immediately let us know she'd return when she was done with something else. No one in this establishment had on a uniform at all. Our waitress finally returned to take our drinks, which would end up tasting like urination. We ordered our food which took an eternity and wasn't good either. The longer we sat the more I noticed errors within the facility. My friend and I exited with stomach aches I have heartburn and indigestion as I type this shit. When I got home I threw up twice. I type this all to say ... plz don't go to Applebee's. Applebee's is a pretty standard chain to eat at anywhere I suppose. I can't say I've ever really had a bad experience with it, and the two times I ate here were no different. The service here is good, and the food is yummy. The only thing is, it can be a bit of a noisy place on certain nights... so if you're looking for somewhere quiet, you might want to look elsewhere. read more

I went to this restaurant an hour and thirty minutes before they stopped serving food. Once my food came out it was warm. The server I had that night was nice but very forgetful. He said that he had been up all night so I won't hold that against him. He did apologize each time we had to remind him that we were waiting for him to bring our entree and appetizer or our beverages. It was not busy when we arrived at this location. So I do not understand why you have to wait so long for your food. This experience was not as worse as what I encountered at the location in Bartlett but I would suggest that the staff focus more on customer service and speed while ensuring that the food is cooked thoroughly. read more

Went into this location recently, and got a weird feeling from the moment I walked in. The hostess seated a few parties ahead of me, and when she got to seating me, said, "Can I help you?", where as with the other people before me, she asked how many were in their party. After I got seated, it took 10 minutes for someone to come by and take my drink order, which was never communicated amongst the staff. The guy who finally figured this out didn't even end up being my waiter, because a waitress complained to him about not getting my table. This wouldn't have been a big deal if she didn't make eye contact with me 10 minutes earlier and walk right past me. Also, it took another 5-10 minutes to get my check, which the waitress apologized for, stating that she ran out of paper for the receipt machine. However, she was in my field of vision and I saw her talking and laughing with another employee. I used to work in the restaurant industry, so I definitely get the difference between a place being chaotic because it's busy, and a place just being chaotic. I ate here tonight and the service was sub par. I ordered a house salad, spinach artichoke dip and a bacon cheeseburger cooked medium with fries. My salad came out and it was only iceberg lettuce with shredded cheese and croutons no tomatoes or carrots. While waiting on my spinach artichoke dip my burger came out so I told my server to cancel the dip, he then asked why, my response was the spinach dip was an appetizer and my entree is already here. It was my first time at an Applebee's in years and one of my worst experiences ever at an Applebee's. First, there was only one hostess (unless the second hostess was MIA the entire time I was there), but even then, the main hostess was barely at the podium. It took my friends and me 15 minutes to be acknowledged then an extra 5 to finally be seated. The hostess seated us at an unclean table. The second the server, SEBASTIAN R, finally came to us, it was clear he wasn't in the mood to clean the table that should have been already cleaned. He made the longest and creepiest eye contact to each of us EVERY TIME he asked us something. TALK ABOUT BEING UNCOMFORTABLE! When my friend brought to his attention that the table wasn't clean, instead of first removing the food off the table, SEBASTIAN R. MEDIOCRELY cleaned the table ON TOP of the food left on the table by the previous party. SEBASTIAN R. left us with food excess smeared all around the table. He didn't even clean the entire table; he just cleaned the center. This server needs to go back to the basic training of how to clean properly and efficiently! Next, SEBASTIAN R. told us, after he mediocrely cleaned the table, ALL of our drinks would be free. He didn't specify whether alcoholic drinks were free or not, but we assumed he would've specified that the alcoholic drinks weren't free once we started ordering drinks. Lastly, SEBASTIAN R. REFUSED to give us a PEN to sign the check with. SEBASTIAN R. TRIED TO BE SLICK & GAVE ME A MECHANICAL BIC PENCIL to sign the check. SEBASTIAN R. gave me a pencil so he could illegally try to erase my tip and give himself a different tip! FORTUNATELY, I always carry pens on me! To make it all worse, SEBASTIAN R tried to accuse me of taking his nasty and overly used mechanical pencil RIGHT AS WE ARE LEAVING THE RESTAURANT! My Applebees experience was such a letdown. I try to go back to a restraurant I had a bad experience in to give them a second chance hoping things have changed. Bad move on my part! I first asked if I could get soup instead of fries with an upcharge on one of their new burgers and was told yes. I asked for my soup to come out first. Guess what? It came out the same time. When I reminded her of my request she said "they sent them together". Duh! Fries came with it which were cold and I said "I didn't order fries because I got the soup instead". She then said "They're seperate, you can't get the soup instead of the fries".If I had hair I'd pull it out!" Manager took off the soup charge. By the way, the $10.49 burger was not worth it and the french onion soup was'nt that good either. I should have gone to Five Guys next door. Bye Applebees, we're done! If you are a masochist & are into punishing yourself then this is the place for you. On the other hand if you want to have a good restaurant experience stay as far away from this place as possible. It is absolutely the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. We placed our order for both food and drinks at the same time and about 10 minutes later they told us they didn't have the mixtures for the alcoholic drinks. All I was ordering was water but they didn't bring that on this trip. When people adjusted their drinks it was another 15 minutes before they came back with the drinks. Then about 20 minutes later they came back and said that the food we had ordered was not in stock. I still did not have my water and ask if they would please just bring me a glass of water. So people changed their order and they said they would have it out soon. About 10 minutes later they brought my water and said our entrées would be out soon. About a half an hour went by and they said their entrées would be out soon. I said you know we've been in this restaurant well over an hour if our food is not here in five minutes I'll just pay for what you've delivered & leave. Our waitress came back in about two minutes and said that it would take six minutes for the food to get out. I told her I was setting a timer for six minutes on my phone and I hope the food was going to be there and reminded her that I was leaving if the food wasn't there. Six minutes came and went, 12 minutes came and went end it 15 minutes I went because not only was it food not there but the waitressed walk right by our table with no update on when our food would actually be there. I don't like going places where I feel like i'm being punished for something. I did leave what I thought was the approximate amount for our food and feeling sorry for the waitress I left her an average tip for the food we did get which was only one appetizer. But I will never go back again. But If you want to punish yourself for something you've done in the past I highly recommend this place to you. Otherwise to all normal people it is my opinion that they should bolt the front door and not allow anyone who wants to have a good time the huge mistake of entering this restaurant. This is the worst Applebee's I have ever been to in my life and that is saying a lot. I love Applebee's and have been to so many of them , everytone in Memphis area and many across the US. I should have walked out the minute I walked in . The place smelled like sour mildew. Obviously, someone had mopped the place with a dirty mop. Another customer walked out over this. It was dead at prime lunch time should have told me something. I would have walked but when I went to the restroom, my husband and son had already ordered our drinks so I felt stuck. The menus were dirty. The food was horrible. My husband got shrimp scampi and it was a few pieces of shrimp in tomato sauce...That is not shrimp scampi! Dont even ask me how they screwed up something as simple as french onion soup. Monica, our waitress was quite pleasant or I would have totally went off right then and there. Started to ask for the manager , but if they could not smell how disgusting their restaurant was, then how could they help? This must seem normal. I took my family to the Union location with my friend and our children. So, many things went wrong, I don't think I'd ever go back. These are the things that were wrong at the Union location.To start off, we had a waitress name Octavia. It took her 15 minutes to get to our tables because she wanted to do something else. Then, when the waitress came to our table, I asked her if she was going to write our order down, expressing that we had a large order. She replied "no, I got it". We proceeded with telling her our orders. Octavia came back to our table 10 minutes later with three beverages and it was supposed to be six. So, I reminded her. She then, got an attitude because some of her friends came into the restaurant with bags of something for her. After thirty minutes, Octavia came back with some of our food, which was cold and hard as if it sat in the kitchen for a while. I informed Octavia again that there were three drinks missing from our order and I expressed that my drink was literally half water. Twenty-five more minutes passed and I asked another waitress if she could get our waitress. Octavia came back to the table with nothing. Again, I asked where our drinks were and the rest of our order. She replied " We are out of bacon and I didn't know you wanted your food". I responded " Yes, I ordered it a long time ago". Octavia then went to the kitchen and came back out and stood with the rest of the employees and friends that came in with the bags. Now agitated, I asked for my ticket so that we can leave the facility. Octavia charged me $15 more than what I was supposed to be charged and when I told her, she was very rude and rolled her eyes. At this time, the other employees just kept looking over at us as if they wanted us to leave. So, I paid my ticket and left. I have never been treated like this with my friend and our children. This used to be one of my favorite spots since it is within walking distance from my house. Unfortunately the service has gone way down and I refuse to give my money to an establishment that does not care about their customers. I was greeted by the hostess not by a hello or how are you this evening but rather her notifying me that there will be a gratuity added to my check. I guess I look like I'm not going to tip or Applebee's is punishing all of their customers because of the lack of tips left prior to me coming in to dine. As a former waitress and manager, the customer service was terrible. Gratuity is not required, however service charges are. Once I was seated by the hostess, the waitress came to my table and reminded me of the gratuity that was mandatory. I mean, can I order food? I would have tipped over the gratuity amount of 18% anyway but demanding the gratuity as if you have a crystal ball saying I'm a non tipper made me lose my appetite. So I'm assuming the waitress could sense an irritable customer and went and got her manager that I did request. The manager says so I hear you have a problem with the gratuity? Needless to say, I decided to take my money elsewhere. I will not be eating there ever again and will make sure my network and affiliates do not either. Piss poor customer service at its finest! This was also on a Thursday night and traffic was steady. Pathetic that the manager came to my table, pathetic that the manager didn't try to get me to stay and even more pathetic that they worried about a gratuity and haven't even taken an order! read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible. It has been years since I visited this location, now I know why. I was there a few nights ago, to have a drink and an appetizer. I ordered a strawberry long island iced tea and chicken quesadilla. The service was crappy. I sat at the bar, which was filthy and not tended too, napkins and plates of leftovers were still sitting on the bar. The bartender cleaned the bar once we approached. Anyone that has ordered a long island iced tea, knows that you can taste some sort of liquor, this drink tasted like kool-aid, and you could see right through it, like water. I told the bartender, but she said they did not take drinks back. Okay, I let that go. I get my food order, and it was down right nasty, not appealing to the eye at all. I took one bite, and left the remainder on my plate. The bartender asked me what was wrong, and I told her I did not like it at all. About 30 minutes later the manager came over, and was just standing there in front of us, not saying a word. I asked him what he needed, he said did you ask for a manager, and I told him I did not, but since you are here, I can tell you about this food. He told me that because we were there during "happy hour" times, he could not remove the quesadilla's from my ticket. He did not offer to remake or replace them. I had not asked for him in the first place, but since he came over I asked. Anyway, I only spent $14 there and they will never get another dime from me. read more

I just left Applebee's and I had absolutely terrible service. When we first got there, we had to wait 15 minutes just for the server to get our drink orders, and it was not even busy at all. By the time she had arrived to get our drink orders we were already ready to order our food. We had come specifically for the 1/2 price apps, and the server told us that everything on the appetizer menu was half off, so we ordered the bone-in wings. It wasn't until 10-15 minutes later that she came by to inform us that the wings were not half off. Also, when we had ordered, I requested the wings be all flats. She said that they could not do that, but I said that was okay just as long as half of them were flats. When she brought us the food, however, she had brought us boneless wings instead and walked away. We pressed the "call server" button on the tablet menu on our table, but she never came. I had to get up just to find someone to grab her. She came back and brought us the bone-in wings. But alas, there were only two flats. Again, I had to press the "call server" button because she was nowhere in sight. And again, she did not answer to the call. I had to grab someone to go and grab her. When she came, I asked for more flats and she said they could not do that and asked if I wanted to see a manager. I told her that I would indeed like to see the manager. So the manager, named Angela, came and asked what was wrong. I told her the deal, and she said there was nothing she could do about it and that I "get what I get". Not only did she not fix it for us, she did not offer us a discount or anything. She was extremely unhelpful and rude and absolutely did not make customer satisfaction a priority. The server proceeded to give us our check and then our credit card receipt and then continued to stand over our shoulders while we were trying to figure out our tip, which is extremely rude. She also did not offer us a to-go box for our uneaten food. There was absolutely nothing good about our experience, and not even the manager would make it right. I am never coming to this location again, and I think this restaurant would benefit from some staff changes, including and especially managerial. read more
