The only thing that was half decent was the broccoli. 1adult 2 children over $100.00 for garbage. The star is something I was forced to enter to complete the review. Went here with my wife and daughter. I had the ribs and my wife had the riblets and my daughter had the chicken tenders. My wife had an awesome drink and then her and my daughter ordered some crazy delicious dessert. Oh, and I had a cup of French onion soup that was also super delicious. But the best part of our visit was our server, Maggie. She was totally cool, friendly, and always made sure everything was great our entire visit. We'll definitely be coming back! read more

The service is phenomenal. The wait staff work together like a bee hive and make sure everyone in the sections are taken care of. Even the head manger was on the floor and asking customers if they been ok and asking for more or less. The ambiance of it is always great and works for the brand. The food never fails to be great. Meet my daughter here for lunch. They were really taking minimal contact to a new level. Food brought out on separate trays, staff doesn't touch glasses (but they must of touched to fill). I have eatin here for 20 years I remember when the service was great, the food , people took pride in making, but lately the last 2 night time visits have been sorely sub par. Steak overcooked, food cold, 30 minutes to get it appetizers brought out with dinner, drinks not refilled (I actually went to the bar to get a refill) and just the overall attentiveness was lacking. Let me be clear. I hate complaining, and now a days you cant be certain your food wont take the brunt of it. The manager happened by towards the early end of our meal to ask how everything was? I explained it wasn't great but not the worst we've had but was disappointed. He offered additional food to replace it, but you wait 30 minutes for it then begrudgingly eat some of it, you dont want more. The thing I hated the most out of this was him (the manager) "asking me" what he could do to make it right? I am certain some folks wont understand this, but I dont want to be asked this, I simply want the manager to ascertain what "he" needs to do to make "it right" especially if more food isn't the "fix". Overall Applebees has been struggling as a brand name and after tonight I dont think it helped its cause. read more

Very annoying and disappointing. Arrived here, the parking lot was virtually empty as well as the tables in the restaurant. When we got to the door, the greeter informed us it would be a 40 minute wait. Ridiculous considering the abundance of seating inside. Very unimpressed. We left and went to Logans where the parking lot and restaurant were both fairly packed, probably thanks to Applebee's unwillingness to serve their patrons, and were seated immediately and had drinks in front of us almost straight away. Well the food wasn't bad here. Kinda what I would expect from a chain. Service was mediocre, however food was quick. Chicken smells good when you reheat it on the range. I don't see this along with most other Applebee's getting better than a 6-7/10 and that has to do with their processes and COVID. I've had a long relationship with this Applebee's! I've been here on and off for over a decade. It waxes and wanes, but I've noticed recently the friendliness has improved but the service accuracy and speed has declined. (50 minutes from order to delivery to table today.) That's kind of weird to have not so great service from friendly people! :) But there's some really nice servers, managers, etc. Very friendly. But lots of errors over the past two years and a gradual deleting of low carb options (remember Monterey Chicken?) is making it hard for me to recommend. On the other hand, you might go and have a great experience. I think they're trying to improve. read more

Same menu and food and interior as any other Applebees. Not my kinda place, but whatever, I was there to spend time with friends. I was disappointed by the lack of any vegan options and the complete inflexibility shown by staff and apparently management. Fries, a side salad that was mostly iceberg, and chips n' salsa were the only vegan things on the menu. Except... If you order an entree you get sides. Like green beans and steamed broccoli. Green beans sounded good today. So I asked if they could please let me order just a side of green beans. Flat no from the server. Not even "let me see what I can do for you". I explained that I eat vegan, so I don't want to order an entree that I don't want to eat. Still a flat no, followed by a laugh. Seemed kinda rude. I try really hard not to be a pita about the vegan thing so I didn't go all asking for the manager complainy pants whatever. But really, almost everywhere else will try and accommodate you with what you want to eat. I mean, it's not like I asked for a free plate of green beans* (?!), I just wanted to exchange some money for some green beans. So... I got the lowest common denominator of vegan food, fries and house salad. Fries were fine, salad was lame, service was really unhelpful. P.S. Came in at 4 in Mother's Day and we were sat right then, no waiting. The reason for the lower stars was based on the service and a little on the quality/preparation of the food. Shrimp wanton stir fry seemed watery. Maybe the sauce was too watery and that made the dish to wet. The brisket quesadilla was good however. Mozzarella sticks were simply average. It did seem to be good size portions but for the price it should be. The service I was disappointed in because I ordered a drink (Bahama Mama) and once it came I saw the specials board and thought my drink qualified. I asked Leigha about it, she checked with the manager and told me it did qualify. I ordered another and when she brought it back she informed me it didn't qualify for the half price. 1) she should have known before I even ordered if I was ordering a special offer drink 2) it would have been nice for her to tell me the Bahama Mama with the lesser rum was the qualifying drink (I would have ordered that for the half price). She didn't really check on us but a couple other people did, managers or what I'm not sure. This has never really been a favorite place to eat and this just reinforced that notion. Food was mediocre, service not that great and the atmosphere is simply a bar/restaurant, nothing special. Dining alone most of the time stinks and when they insist you sit at the "full service" bar it's worse. It's not a table! It's not meant for dinner it's a bar! We got their speciality burgers and fries and were pleasantly surprised. Buns were fresh and soft, meat cooked properly, toppings spot on. Fries were very good as well. Took the whole family to dinner the other night and the kids chose to visit Applebees. While I wasn't excited about it, I ended up having a fantastic time and the food was great. I haven't been to an Applebee's in about a decade but since they revamped their menu, my boyfriend wanted to give them a shot. We didn't have to wait to be seated at 5pm on a Saturday and our server was friendly. We started with the Mozzarella Sticks ($7.99) which did not disappoint. I also had an OK cocktail called Bourbon & Berries ($7.99). While waiting we played the trivia game on the touchscreen.. although it makes time go faster, it does repeat some questions and you can find better trivia online for free. The games cost 99 cents so keep your kid away from the screen if you don't want to pay. The Thai Shrimp Salad ($10.99) does not look much like the photo. There was barely any lettuce; it was mostly the white rib and small shreds of cabbage with a couple wonton strips only garnishing the plate. There was not much in general. Although it tasted good there was too much pepper. I would have preferred some fresh chilies but I know the clientele here wouldn't be able to handle that. My boyfriend's Brunch Burger with fries was the same price so I felt a little cheated. I know that there is a significant mark up for dishes containing shrimp but there were plenty; just give me more lettuce! read more

Don't know what's happened to this place, but the kitchen staff needs to be fired. Went there last week, ordered the Marsala Mushroom Sirloin 9oz. Medium Rare. Food came out, my wife's pasta dish was stone cold. My steak was raw in the middle, and the mushrooms were not cooked. It's like they had slapped the steak on the plate, pored sauce on it, then sliced cold uncooked mushrooms on top of that. Our waitress was very nice, and took our plates back to the kitchen. 20 minutes later, the food came back out. My wife's pasta dish was as hot as boiling water. They had completely redone my dish, but this time it was way over cooked and dry. Not to mention they stuck a 7 oz steak on the plate instead of the 9oz. I noticed there was a new manager. The time we went there before this, I ordered a steak and it came all fat and grissel. The manager back then, took my plate back, made sure a good steak delivered back to me, and took the whole thing off the bill with an apology. So this was a couple of nights ago .. Sunday to be exact. Tabitha was bartending but we came for late night apps which she was great but at 10:45 the tvs went off which we thought was strange and the manager kept eyeing us because we were the last table in the place.. and when I got up to ask the bartender when they closed because it started to get awkward she said we closed at 11 and we were fine.. at 10:58 we walked out the door and I didn't even get off the sidewalk before the manager had turned the outside lights off. I feel weird giving your typical Applebee's four stars, but there aren't a ton of options in Midland so this one is a go-to. Very pleasant atmosphere, with a lot of nice local touches and decor. We were shown to a table which was pretty noisy, but the staff cheerfuly moved us to a very nice and quieter table. But--our meals were pretty disappointing. One person complained that his chicken meal was very salty; I found the steak to be quite tough. We were hoping to make this our Go To place for a homey takeout meal... but Applebees definitely didn't cut it. When I've eaten at other Applebees locations, the food has been much better. read more
