Went on a Monday night, place was nearly empty but there were screens for Monday night football. Ordered a flight of beer, raspberry sour, two lactose ipas, and a pumpkin beer that was my favorite. Ordered the lake perch since I was in Michigan and it came with delicious in house tartar sauce with a lot of dill. The coleslaw was also really fresh and crisp, well dressed. Nice joint! Good beer selection, nice atmosphere, and good service. Had the fish and chips, and the batter for the chips was well seasoned and delicious. We had the lavender kolsch, and it was nice and light. An easy drink, but I'm not sure if it's actually 7% lol. We're traveling with our two big dogs. It was so great to be able to find a dog friendly patio at a restaurant with such a gorgeous view and delicious food. The staff were super friendly. We had a Michigan salad, wings, fried pickles, and beer flight. Everything was tasty. The wings were incredible, just a touch on the hot side. The bbq sauce tasted almost like apple butter- but in a good way! Would definitely recommend this place, especially if traveling with dogs. Thanks for a nice evening. read more

Not a place you want to go to if you need to use the restroom and are handicapped. The restroom is not handicapped friendly at all. First of all the door does not have an automatic opener and it weighs like 50#. The handicap stall is small for an amigo. It is almost impossible to maneuver around. The food is good. The smoked wings with their house rub are some of the better wings I've had. Whenever I am visiting family in Midland I like to stop here for wings, the brussel sprouts, and the beer. For atmosphere, this place easily gets 6 stars for promptness and quality, it's more like 1-2 stars so I'm splitting the difference and giving this place a 3. First, we moved out of Midland 7 years ago and we're back for a visit. Wow, this place has changed! We arrived at 5pm on a Thursday evening and was told it was a 15-20 min wait for a table. Fine, no problem. Our toddlers were having a blast running around in the grass with their balls. Also, they had a live band which helped make the wait more enjoyable. Although the restaurant can't really control this, patrons lingered for forever even after finishing drinking and eating. That 15-20 minutes turned out being 57 minutes. We sat and ordered our food and drinks all at once. It took 25 minutes for us to get our drinks (a rose, a Diet Coke, and 2 kids sprites). We had already been waiting almost an hour for a seat and then 25 minutes for drinks, it was a bit long. We actually had to flag someone down to ask where our drinks were. We ordered the corn dip which was flavorless and the chips were over salty. But it at least came out quickly. Then we ordered 2 burgers and a hotdog. The waitress was nice enough to bring out an extra tray, without asking, so we could split the hotdog for our kids we were asked how we wanted our burgers cooked (medium) but both were well done. Thankfully, there was enough topping on them that it masked some of the dryness. Overall, they have something super special with the atmosphere here but the food left so much to be desired. Third time was not a charm. Too long of a wait for lunch. We watched another table get our appetizers, once they informed our server(the same server) it was wrong, I then informed them we did not want to wait any longer for our apps and to not remake them. The server still remade them after we declined wanting them and then charged us for them. We watched 2 tables seated after us with the same size party with the same server received their meals well before us. My meal was served an additional 7 minutes after the rest of our party. I've been here twice before. Both times it was way too dark and I was never greeted. I would sit at the bar and the individual would walk by me several times and make zero acknowledgement. Food took forever to come and was mediocre at best. Also overpriced af. The final straw was asking on social media if they wouldn't considering trying NA options of beer. I was met with an incredibly condescending remark from whom I am now guessing is involved with the company. Instead of calling them out and engaging, I just responded with a laugh react. Cool beer spot with lame food. MBC has a good beer selection, and the space is open, modern-ish and appealing. The service was friendly, yet slow and was very difficult to get anyone's attention so the experience took about twice as long as it should have. We sat there with empty glasses and needing cutlery, etc while the servers passed by ignoring us or BS-ing with other staffers. The menu doesn't offer much that is different from anywhere else, but I had higher expectations given the apparent quality of the place and what appeared on the menu. The food was poorly executed: a burger that was so raw and bloody and egregiously overseasoned tots that had to be sent back. Grey brussels sprouts the consistency of oatmeal and so-so ribs. Recommend for the beer but this was an otherwise mediocre experience I am unlikely to revisit. read more

I love MBC. I'm definitely a regular. I like the food. It's not the most innovative out there, and I would love it if the vegetarian options were better, but everything I have tried has always been very solid. I go there a lot, and haven't gotten sick of it. Also, I like that they change the menu seasonally. I think the staff likes the product, which always makes a big difference. Their core beers are really solid, especially Copper Harbor. On top of that, they also take risks with what they brew, which makes it really fun if you are a repeat customer. Their Christmas offering was not to my taste, but a spiced plum IPA is really different and fun and I was really excited to try it. I am really looking forward to more efforts like the recent Aviator Cookie Brown release. They also have a great outdoor space in the summer. I love the beer garden. read more

Aged to perfection. The beer menu reads as varied and mature as all the rest of my favorite breweries. There are sours, aged lagers, cider, Mead, and IPAs. I didn't order from the kitchen. But, the bartender on the Sunday afternoon when we visited was very helpful and extremely patient as we sampled a few before settling in on our final three. The space is open and inviting. We were heading up north and thought we'd take a slight detour from our route to check out this brewery. We tried to make it here several times on a few trips we have taken to Traverse City and Bay City, but we always pass by during the wrong time and the brewery is closed. Well, today was our lucky day. When we arrived, we noticed that you needed to have reservations to enter. We called and they were able to take us....Yay! We found a spot at the bar and ordered a flight. We enjoy flights because you are able to sample multiple beers and then decide on one that you truly want to invest your calories! lol We have our passport so we were able to order two pints half off. That's such a great deal. The beertender was super nice and we enjoyed chatting with her. She suggested that we stay and check out the outside area of the brewery. We finished up and headed outside....WOW!!!! This was an adult playground. This place is huge....fire pit, yard games, various seating areas for large groups or small cozy spots, and even a a stage for live performances. We also enjoyed learning about the different variety of hops they use to make the beers. They had hop vines growing around the property with description for each type. How cool is that! Visited here during the summer of COVID. Touch feee reservations, touch free payment, disposable plates and silverware all on an outdoor patio that is beautiful. Dog friendly too! We ordered a pulled pork sandwich which came with chips and a salad with apples, walnuts and deliciousness in it. Food was excellent! The garden area is beautiful!
