We love this Pub! We have always had great service and fantastic food here. The Reuben Egg Rolls are dreamy - they were gone before I even thought to take a photo. The Perch is a staple, so lightly fried and delicious. The fry seasoning is my favorite, don't skip out on that as your side! We also tried a Cali Reuben with sauerkraut added (thanks to our servers recommendation) and it was perfect! And the service - exceptional and fun! Stopped in with a large group of after a funeral service, and several other groups(even bigger) showed up too--the place was packed in no time. Despite this huge rush of people, the staff never missed a beat. Service all night was fast, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The food came out right on time even though we expected a long wait. This place has changed owners, and in our HO. the food has slipped drastically. The beer that use to be the coldest in town is no longer. When we mentioned it, they didn't want to hear it, nor has it been corrected. The food which was once very good, is now mediocre. None of us would recommend the Italian steak sandwich, and trust me no Italian would eat it. I've had better canned dog food. Mexican food is not much better, although you would be safe with the taco salad. The burrito is better at Taco Hell. Don't bother with the "special" Margaritas. Just put the mix in the glass at home, with ice, and drink that. They must keep the Tequila in the bottle, or they mix up a vat of them with ice that waters them down. Not worth the cheaper price. Or order the tequila shot and out it in the mix yourself. Not sure when they make the popcorn, but could be the day before. Now, it's not all bad. Go on a Monday when the appetizers are 1/2 off. The staff is fine. But this place needs some improvrment. read more

So it's a generic bar... don't know what makes it "Irish". Door to the bar says Sally Dunn's... Bartender had no idea what that name is.. As for Irish whiskey they have several different kind of Bushmills and some Jameson's. They do have Guinness on tap but looked dirty. We had a patty melt and some onion rings... wasn't great. Onion rings were a little soggy. Service wasn't great and server did a lot of talking to people and not much in the way of customer attentiveness. The weird part: there was a cart of frozen meat just thawing by the restrooms. Weird. Won't be back... but needed to see what it was all about. read more

I'm very disappointed with our visit yesterday, we arrived early for dinner, and were told we couldn't sit where we wanted, and they were expecting a large group in an hour. Basically they gave us the "bums rush" to get us out in time for the people that apparently were more important than we were. The menu is pricier than the old one, and a lot of the items are missing, that we loved. This was our first time back after the remodel closing, and probably our last. read more

Nice atmosphere here. Seated quickly. Waiter was quick to the table with menus and drink order. A different person brought drinks. Alaskan amber was a good beer. Waiter then was about 8 minutes before he came back to table to take the order. I ordered at NY Strip with cottage cheese and fries. Service was horrible and slow. read more

Would not recommend. Went on a Sunday night and had horrible service. Rueben sandwich was very soggy, hamburgers were very dry and T-bone steak was not cooked to request. Medium rare was extremely undercooked as if they lightly pressed it on the grill then pulled it off quickly. Fries were even overcooked. The chicken sandwich had lot of mayo but no seasoning. We sat waiting for our refills on beverages and our appetizer that never came. Might be an ok place to go if you just want drinks. read more

I want to give them just one star for tricking me into thinking that they were going to have Irish food, from both the title of the restaurant and the names of the foods on the menu. But the foods are really just hamburgers and french fries and similar American items that they have given fancy Irish names too. The first thing I did was ask if they had a Shandy, a British drink with beer and lemonade, and was told no. I asked what the girl recommended and she suggested cider beer. It was delicious and I was glad I'd gotten it. It's been two or three months at least since I've even had a beer. I asked about soups and it turned out they had two kinds, a chicken noodle and bean soup and they said both were good so I got a cup of each instead of a bowl of just one. The server was extremely nice, in fact both of them were. I think her name might have been Valerie and his might have been Dan. They are the only reason I upped my review from one star to three. They couldn't have been nicer and that saved a disappointing experience and made it more pleasant. After relaxing a while and enjoying my two soups, which were pretty good, I hit the road and looked for a motel to spend the night in. If you don't have Irish food or Irish drinks, you shouldn't call yourself an Irish Pub! Boo! read more

First time here and will be my last time here. Sat at the bar and received little to no service at all. Didn't get a refill for the hour and half I was there. Witness the bartender grab pickles from the jar without washing his hands and put it on a customers burger. Heard the waitress and cook argue. Didn't receive the bill for a long time either. I ordered the Italian Steak, lean ground beef patty grilled to perfection, smothered in Italian sauce with melted mozzarella cheese on grilled French bread and my bride a BLT, pretty standard but the bacon was excellent, they must raise a lot of pork in Michigan, yum! Good Food, Terrible Service This was such bad service that I feel dumber for having sat through it. We didn't have anyone show up to greet us for 15 min, then our waters took another 10 min. Our waitress Courtney didn't know what the cocktails were so we asked if she could get a list. 10 minutes later she came back with straws for our waters but no drink menu. She came back a while later and said she had a picture of the menu on her phone, but she only read us the titles of the drinks and didn't tell us what was in them. The lemonade cocktail we got was so full of tequila that it was clear... except for the multicolored floaters at the bottom. We asked to replace the lemonade with a Busch lite bottle, but she forgot it at the bar and we had to go in to get it 20 min later (by which time it was warm). We asked if she could turn on the TVs to watch Keno, but she didn't know how to turn them on. We helped her find the "on" button, but then she left it on static and walked away. She said she would take our food orders but then she walked away and didn't come back for 15 min. We had already ordered when she came to tell us the specials, but she "couldn't remember them." We had been sitting down for over an hour when 2 out of 4 people got their food. Several minutes later she brought back out 1 more meal and a round of drinks, but dropped a Busch lite on the ground before it got to us. The meal we waited the longest for was the hot dogs. We asked for salt. She brought it to another table that didn't ask for it, but never brought it to us. Our friend's Reuben had a hair in it, but otherwise the food tasted good! Bill was correct for both parties, so no issues there. The other waitress that assisted us from time to time was very helpful. Overall, it felt like our waitress was on something. OK - First, how can a place that calls itself an "Irish Pub" not have Guinness on tap? That said: the Burger is good, the toasted bun is a nice touch. The Ham and Cheese is huge and tasty, although the toasted bread is a little dry. The Fries are fair. The Onion Rings are also huge, but have too much breading and are rather greasy. The setting is more restaurant than pub/bar. read more

This is my cheers bar. I love Washington St Pub. My service is always awesome. I get takeout from here and it's always great. The top shelf long islands are potent and delicious. I don't know what else to say besides this is my favorite casual spot in Bay City. I wish they had a juke box. That would make everything perfect. :) read more

My wife and I ate here for the first time a few days ago, Food was quick very reasonably priced, and large portioned. My wife ordered a BLT and we could have split it between the two of us. I had the steak and cheese sandwich I will order this again. the place itself looks newly remodeled with the ability to dine outside, all very nice, the only reason I did not give 5 starts was that the area around the front door and the sidewalk to the parking lot was dirty with trash laying about. read more

This is one of the best places for burgers, Mike's nachos :), and other great pub food. Mike's onion rings are also the best in town!! They recently expanded their space, including an outdoor patio. Great service, nice atmosphere, good food. They're currently expanding their draft selection which is great! So far I've had their Reuben (great), buffalo wings (awesome) and the fish fryday (whitefish - good). My husband and I had seasonal Sam Adams to drink, which was alright - but had a larger selection than that. As beer-lovers, we generally look for a wider selection, as seen at Tavern101. Good food but the service sucked! We waited almost 20 minutes for drink food order. Waitress walked by us a million times. She stated that the pizza we ordered would take some time. I understand that but no excuse for her to blatantly ignore us. We had a male join us and she waited on him within two minutes of him being here and had his food in less than 20 minutes. We came in to the pub at 10:30 on Friday and we're turned away? While the 2 ladies in the group had been drinking the designated driver and I were not. For some reason the waitress refused to serve my friend that was perfectly sober. While I understand discretion and respect this choice we asked to speak with the manager. Our request was refused. We left very disappointed. Please take the time to talk to people before passing judgement and get a second opinion. read more
