This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've ever had at Applebee's. The restaurant wasn't even busy, yet we waited over 20 minutes just to get a beer. We were told the bartender was "very busy," even though there were only two people sitting at the bar. Then we waited another 15 minutes for our appetizers, so we were over half an hour in before we really got anything. The appetizers were just okay, and honestly they were the only thing even remotely edible. Less than five minutes after the appetizers finally came out, our entrées were rushed to the table, looked completely thrown together, and were lukewarm at best. The chicken was dry, bland, and flat-out terrible. We took only a few bites because nothing about the entrées was good. We were even told they had to "improvise" with the chicken because they ran out of something. Isn't that something you mention to customers ahead of time--or just 86 the entrée altogether? Serving a thrown-together dish without saying anything is unacceptable. We also want to be clear -- we have never asked to have food comped at any restaurant, ever, and we've eaten out hundreds of times. This isn't something we do. When we asked to have the 2 for $25 comped due to the awful food and service, the manager got visibly upset instead of trying to help. She walked away and rudely said "Happy Thanksgiving," which felt sarcastic and unprofessional. Instead of addressing the bad food, the lukewarm entrées, or the slow service, she acted like we were the problem. What a great example of management--getting mad at customers for bad food instead of fixing the issue. Terrible service, terrible food, and terrible attitude. We won't be coming back. read more

We took the family here last night for dinner. Applebee's has long been one of my wife's favorite restaurants, so she was excited to go back as was I. When we got there, we receded immediately. The restaurant was not very busy and was very clean which is awesome to walk into. Our server came to get our drink orders, and gave us sufficient time to look at the menu, but not so long that we were looking around wondering where she was. After our orders were taken, the food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. During our meal, drinks were refilled without being asked, and we also took advantage of the "Zombie", which is rum and tropical flavors with gummy brains for $1. These are a super deal, and whenever they have a drink like this, my wife and I like to stop in. They were bigger than they were last time we had these a couple years ago so that was a nice surprise. The food was all tasty, everybody ate what they ordered, and I'd like to specifically point out that the servings of fries were bigger than other restaurants. It's nice to see restaurants giving good value with the increase they've had in prices over the last few years. Overall, this was a fantastic experience and I look forward to coming back again. read more

Most of you probably know that when you go to Applebees it's going to be hit or miss. It's a 2-3 star restaurant (except for the ones that like it fancy) with food that can be good for certain meals and not so good for others. With that, this place wasn't too bad. The chicken bowl was pretty good and a good size. My parents enjoyed their chicken and shrimp plates. The Mai tais weren't exactly Mai tais, but more like margaritas. And our server (Adrian I believe) was outstanding! Very patient and friendly with our group that showed up at all different times. Personally, there are hundreds of amazing restaurants in the Omaha area to choose from, but if you're close and feeling Applebees, than why the hell not! This is the one in the 10 mile radius if you're going to pick one! read more

I hadn't been to Applebee's in years because I try to patron local and I prefer ethnic foods. I moved near one in Papillion where there aren't a lot of restaurants so I decided to try it again. I asked the server if she had a recommendation and she recommended the bourbon chicken with shrimp. I had that with the mashed potatoes and a side salad. It's really delicious, the chicken is tender and both the chicken and shrimp are spiced to perfection. Now I crave it and go there whenever I need my bourbon chicken fix. The mashed potatoes are always just right! The service is consistently excellent and the staff friendly. Rough first time at applebees. Our sever sat at the bar for majority of our dining experience. She also didn't really check on us, just once at the end. The people who work here bring all their drama and tell it across the restaurant so everybody dining can hear and it was upsetting. One person in my party had a cold sandwich and was told they didn't have it and then 5 minutes later they did? Another one of my guests asked for no tomatoes and when the food came out with tomato's, she sent it back and the tomatoes were obviously picked out and there were still some inside. I got the poppin shirley and it was totally not poppin because it was lacking pop rocks so that was upsetting. I'm just beside myself that Applebee's puts out food like they did. We ordered Honey pasta chicken and ordered 2 orders of wings. Buffalo and Sweet Asian Chili. Both orders the wings were so dry and no sauce on the bottom plate, and they were hard and possibly old. Uneatable! Even the honey chicken was really dry. We waited outside before it was ready to. It should have been fresh. It's been happening off and on for quite a bit. I think we will stop going for a while. Step it up Applebee's!! read more

Horrible visit tonight. I was there from about 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. and sat at the bar for dinner. Jeff O was the bartender/server. Now, I probably eat at this Applebees at least twice a month and usually get good food and good service. Nothing to write home about but nothing to get excited over either. It did the job. Tonight, the pendulum swung to the bad side. 1) The 8oz sirloin (cooked medium) was terrible. Tough, chewy, with a nice layer of gristle that forced me to spit out two of the pieces and leave 1/2 of the steak on the plate. No taste whatsoever. 2) Jeff, the bartender/server, notices this but doesn't ask "was everything alright?" or "how was dinner?" NOTHING. The manager, "Huntar", asked other guests at other tables how their meal was but didn't come withing spitting distance of me. 3) Two idiots sitting at the bar. One clearly obnoxious and loud individual who thought that by using "word enhancers" such as "fuck", "bitch", "bastard", and "shit" made him worldly and so very interesting. Despite seated families and other guests, Jeff said nothing. Huntar said nothing and Applebees allowed the behavior to continue. Should I have said something? Probably. But do I run the risk of drawing more attention to the moron or getting my ass kicked in the parking lot? So disgusted with the way people act in public anymore. Are there no scruples left? Decency? Ive been coming to this particular location for years now, and it is hands down the best one in Omaha. The staff is always friendly, the food is good, and the gm, Barbie, is such a great example of what a manager should be. I've never been in on one of her days, and not seen her at my table, checking to make sure everything is going well. My boyfriend and I have been going out to this Applebee's almost regularly but after the service and poor quality food we had tonight, I can most definitely say we are not coming back. We get there and get seated almost immediately. Our waiter, Amber, got our drink orders, came back with the drinks, and spilled them all over the table. She didn't mean to spill them but when she left us (we assumed to get napkins or towels to clean the spill) she didn't return until she was asking us what we would like to order, with no towels. After trying to order 3 different things and being told they had run out of the Bourbon Chicken and Bourbon Steak I finally found something they had all the pieces to. I got their Shrimp and Parmesan Sirloin. My boyfriend had gotten the 4 Cheese Mac & Cheese with the Chicken Tenders. Before getting our food while having nothing but the half-empty drinks on our table, Amber leaves someone else's card and bill on our table, only after we pointed it out did she come and correct her mistake. Our food comes out after waiting a long while. While trying to cut my steak, we see that it is almost completely raw just seared around the edges. The staff blamed it on the 'new chef'. Regardless the meat temperature should be checked. Trying to get the barbecue and steak sauce (they were out of the most popular brands) we had to ask our waiter multiple times. Amber was also telling us about how her manager is her fiance, how she had just injured her arm, how she had to step into the bathroom to cough, in the middle of my boyfriend and I's conversation. They ended up charging up for the Mac & Cheese twice and took my card to the back multiple times trying to fix the mistake. Their many mistakes were compensated by a brownie on the house and a 1/2 price entree ticket. We will not be returning here. read more

This was probably one of the worst experiences I've had at Applebees. We got there around 7:30 pm on a Tuesday evening. It wasn't busy at all. We had Dustin as a server. He had maybe 2 tables by the time we got there. His other tables cashed out while we were there. The food was fine. The beer that my boyfriend got was flat as hell. And then when he replaced the beer with the sangria it was mostly wine. He only checked on us about 2 times. He never apologized for the flat beer. As soon as we were finishing our meal, a 9 top walked in and they sat in Dustin's section. Now, I'm a server and have been for a few years. I always give every server the benefit of the doubt, but when my boyfriend is staring at Dustin, and watching him walk around and wait at the bar and at the POS station, that's not okay. We waited over 20 minutes to even say anything. Then when he came over with the check he said "sorry I got caught up with that table." So he lied to our face too when we clearly saw him standing around and watching TV. We wanted to talk to the manager but we probably would have waited another 10 minutes to talk to anyone. I've never left anything less than 15% tip until tonight. Super disappointed. read more

Stopped in for supper (11-15-19) early in the evening (5:40 pm) . From the looks of the parking lot the restaurant should've been packed, it was not. The front area was filled with people waiting to be seated yet there was lots of empty tables throughout the restaurant. We gave our names and waited for about 10 minutes before asking if we could wait for a table up at the bar. Once we took our seats at the bar we ordered a couple of drinks and noted all the empty tables throughout the restaurant yet again. After waiting at least 10 minutes we finally asked if we could just take one of the high tables that had been and were still empty situated directly adjacent to the bar. We were seated there and finished our drinks. The waitress, once we were noticed brought us menus and took our drink orders. After about twenty minutes the waitress came and took our food orders. Here is where the wait began.... after about half an hour our appetizer finally arrived, about 40 minutes later our meals finally arrived. It's important to note that other patrons who arrived after us and were seated after us received their meals, finished them, paid and left before we even received our meals. The restaurant manager didn't greet customers, check on customers or do much of anything except stand around by the bar. As for the food, it was hot and fresh but not as tasty as it should've been. Considering our wait time and the ridiculously slow service we weren't offered a discount or anything. I wrote an email to the Area Director and have yet to receive a response. I doubt we'll visit this restaurant again as there are so many other ones to visit that are far better and have better service as well. read more

My family's go-to place for comfort food! We keep coming back because we have always loved their food and service, and their prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity. In fact, we have never ordered anything we did not enjoy. They have fantastic pasta selections. My favorites are: Spinach + Artichoke Chicken Cavatappi, Three-Cheese Chicken Cavatappi, and Four-Cheese Mac + Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders. I actually just order any of those three because they are that good! I don't know why, but I noticed that they are twice as yummy when I reheat my leftovers at home. So don't finish all of that pasta and leave some for those to-go boxes! (But I can't blame you if you can't help but finish everything.)
