I have not been to an Applebee's in awhile. I usually eat locally owned. I liked it. Options were greatly scaled down. We had the 2 for 29.00. A very good deal. Both our steaks were cooked perfectly and the apps were good. Our waitress was pretty much non existent. I really needed some salad dressing, but I survived without. I do believe they had much more staff than customers, so maybe the employee shortage is easing. Unfortunately, not one person was wearing a mask. Went in 33mins after online order on app. Food was ready. Food was good. Portions were good. Quality is good. Location good. Ordered shrimp alfredo fetti. The breadstick that comes with it is decent. It kinda taste like it comes frozen lol (thinking emoji). Price good. Pckging good. Customer service decent. Was greeted right away. Tipped 10%. Ill tip like 20% next time. Havnt been to this chain in a while. Never really thrilled with anything I order. It was on our way home so we stopped for a steak. It was ok but pricier than Texas Road House which I always have a good steak. Anyway...my steak was cooked right and tasted pretty good. My wife's steak had tendons and was kind of tough. We dont complain for minor things so not that big of a deal. Our server was so nice. I forget her name. All the employees there seemed really nice and friendly. I guess my conclusion is the steaks and sides were mediocre for $20 each. 8oz sirloin. As far as the place goes it was cleaner and nicer than other Applebees I have been to. read more

We visited Applebee's in Pennsville NJ and were really disappointed again. The meat was hot, the fries were cold, the red wine was cold instead of a room temp. The grilled vegetables were warm but not cleaned properly, the peppers still had the seeds. We asked for extra napkins because one of us had ribs but no napkins ever came. So, I went to their website to give a review and that didn't work either. The question is...where do you eat in Pennsville???? Better yet, next time we'll eat in Delaware before our meeting in NJ. read more

We really goofed, this trip (two Tuesdays ago), having forgotten that 5 to 6 pm is getting into prime dinner hour. We were on the way back from a late appointment an hour to the north, and realized that we'd be going right past Applebee's. Yay...or maybe not this time. Almost every table had at least one small child, even though it wasn't a "kids eat free" night or any kind of special family night. Most were very well-behaved except for the obligatory one family that let their little darling scream without making any apparent attempt to discover his problem or distract him, from the time we arrived until they left about 45 minutes later. Delightful. The music was loud and thumpin' but it did help a little to drown out Screaming Boy. Food: excellent, as always. I had the (three guesses) bourbon street steak, extra rare and hubby had (equally surprising) his usual bourbon street chicken and shrimp. The unsweetened iced tea was brewed to perfection. The pomegranate tea was a bit bland. Service: cheerful and efficient. We couldn't have asked for a better server! This time, I perused the menu outside of my usual comfort zone, discovering that their side dishes are very limited. Two kinds of garlic mashed potatoes and no plain ones? "Garlicky green beans"? If you want a non-garlic version of a green veggie, you get broccoli. I like garlic just fine, but it should be used sparingly, not in virtually every dish. Even my steak comes with a goodly blob of garlic butter on top. Fortunately, it doesn't melt fast, so it's easy to get rid of right away. And here's a good question raised by another Yelper: where the heck is the baked potato? I knew there was a glaring omission from the menu and could not for anything fill in the blank, probably because it was so glaringly obvious. Not everyone loves the salty, over-crispy roasted red potatoes or garlic this-that-and the other. Just a simple baked potato, garlicked to the CUSTOMER'S specification, one might hope, can go a long way in soothing someone feeling a little cranky over "Garlicbee's" limited side dish offerings. The little dessert "shooter" sounded good, perfect for when you're not in the mood for a gigantic mound of Chocolate Something that makes your teeth fall out by just looking at it. For $2.69, it's a tiny hot fudge sundae....or that's what we thought. They've found a way to heat the chocolate to a liquid state, swirl it around in the glass to give the illusion of a decently-sized blob of chocolate on the bottom while giving you barely enough to color the ice cream a faint tan at just the tip of the spoon. With plain vanilla (not even french vanilla), maybe two tablespoons of whipped cream, no cherry, and the embarrassing dearth of chocolate sauce, never again on the disappointing shooter. It sure doesn't look at all like the picture on their own website. We'll also try hard to remember why we go to restaurants in the mid-afternoon. read more

I generally avoid any Applebee's no matter where. Probably haven't been to one in 15 years. While in the area on business NJ still had limits on restaurant openings/serving due to Covid. Decided to give the Applebee's a whirl. Ordered on my phone for curbside pickup. Friendly and speedy young lady delivered food right to my vehicle without me even having to call. (Of course there were only 2 of us in the pickup zone so she had a 50/50 shot of getting it right!). I had the side Caesar Salad and the chicken wonton "taco" appetizer. I've been here many times because I'm working in the area and staying at the hotel next door so it's very convenient for me after a long 12 hour day. I have had a rollercoaster of experiences here at this restaurant. First I must praise the girls working as the bar, they are excellent servers super friendly and take good care of the customers. The management on the other hand needs to go back to school to learn that they work in a hospitality business When a manager is questioned about taking care of regular customers and their needs and merely srates " oh well that's just too bad" really needs to go back to hospitality school. This is one place that I've been to almost every night while working that the manager hasn't come around to introduce himself. I have never been to Applebee's before so wanted to try something new. Never again. We ordered the Riblett platter, Cajun blackened salmon, and bacon waffle fries as an app. both the waffle fries and fries that came with the platter were soggy like they have been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. platter comes with a side of Cole slaw... if that was Cole slaw the I've been wronged my entire life. it came in a travel cup the size you would use for dressing.. that's not a side, its a garnish or condiment at that point. the broccoli was cooked but soggy. steamed broccoli is not supposed to be soggy and mushy. the only good part of the meal was the fish was at least cooked properly so i don't have to worry about getting sick from the food. sad part is I'm told the Cajun salmon didn't taste Cajun at all... think someone forgot the Cajun seasoning. read more

I'm writing this to correct what I feel is a bum rap on this Applebees. If you're a fan of my reviews, you know I travel a lot, and I never pull my punches. This Applebees serves all of the same food other Applebees serves. It's Always consistent, hot, and tasty. Service at this Applebees is Always spot on from the talented bar staff, wait staff, and kitchen staff. Management is Always there, on top of things, and are genuinely concerned about the customers satisfaction. Their happy hours (2) of them daily, are immensely popular with the locals. Facilities are Always, neat and clean. This is one of my favorite happy hour spots. read more

I came here a few days ago for a quick dinner on the way back to Maryland. The server we had was very personable and attentive. We ordered two quesadilla burgers, one vegetarian. Both were very good, as were the nachos (with no meat). The frozen lemonade was pretty good as well. Everything we ordered came quickly. read more

5 stars for it and the experience. This isn't supposed to be fine dining.... It's simple, no frills but good food ... that doesn't take a long time to get .... with some healthy options. Merve our waitress was really nice. People were genuinely nice - it wasn't fake. Well run and well staffed in my opinion. But then again it wasn't super busy. Food came out fast and what we ordered. I was surprised at the quality actually - it was good. Two main courses and 1 ap for $25 was a nice deal and enough to share with our 2 year old. I liked the whole experience and the service was excellent. Parking was great. Last stop before bridge. And it was needed because traffic was horrible. read more

Convenient location beside my hotel, stopped in for a beer and some dinner. Sat at the bar figured it would be faster service. WRONG! Took her 5 minutes to acknowledge me, then I asked for water, beer and a menu. Got the beer and the menu and that pretty much ended my service. Sat at the bar for 20 minutes, no further contact. A co-worker and I stopped by here last week on our way back to Baltimore from Northern NJ due to its convenient location off of 295 South. It has your typical Applebee's atmosphere which I like and the bartender was attentive. The boneless chicken tenders were good and I like the fact the bartender shut my co-worker and I off after a few too many martini's since we had such a long drive back. I'd definitely return here after my next quarterly trip to NJ. read more

What a joke this place is. I made a reservation for 15 people and was told to wait 25 minutes. I said OK- that works for us. After 25 minutes my wife talks to another wait person and he says "at least another hour ; I go back to the original person and she says "the wait time is whatever the other guy says it is ". Dissapointed. What kind of steakhouses doesn't serve baked potato? What was supposed to be a medium rare steak came out medium well.
