We came to Big Fish to celebrate Father's Day. Even though it wasn't crazy busy, everything took a long time to arrive. My dad's salad came after his entree, and my entree was brought to the table before everyone else's. My spicy Casamigos drink was strong enough that I only needed one (I forgot its name). The blackened catfish was spicy as well, and it had me wishing for a bigger piece. The apple pecan cobbler was good, and the cinnamon ice cream was a nice addition.

Another great time and meal at Big Fish Grill! Staff was super friendly, and despite being packed the food came out quick and tasted great!

    Excuse the presentation!

Went here for a Valentines Day meal with my husband. Was concerned bc some of the reviews speak of bland food, however this was not at all the case during my visit. Our food was delicious and well seasoned. My only reason for taking off one star is because it arrived at our table lukewarm and we had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated despite our reservation. I like my food piping hot, but it was finger licking good so I didn't make a big deal about it. There was a 20% gratuity because of Valentine's Day, but they were upfront and let us know immediately upon ordering. Would definitely go back.

I hadn't visited Big Fish in a while but one of my friends suggested it. Two of us were seated as the third person greeted a friend. Jake was our server, super nice guy! 2 of us ordered waters and cocktails. We received the waters then... Waited, and waited, and waited...for a very long time to receive our cocktails. The 3rd person placed a drink order well after the first two and received hers as we were still waiting! We were told they were waiting for Martini glasses. Jake then said if we didn't mind a rock glass he would have them make them in those. He left and returned with them in up glasses. A manager came over to apologize for the long wait and advised she had discounted the 2 drinks, which was very pleasant. They seemed to be short staffed because there was a long wait at various times. On to the food... We ordered the Fried Texas Gulf Shrimp and Crispy Chesapeake Catfish Bites for appetizers. The Catfish Bites were soft not crispy at all but had a good flavor. The fried shrimp were average. For entrees we had... Big Seafood of the Day, Cioppino, and the Chesapeake Bay Tortellini. The person who ordered the Cioppino asked if it could not be prepared with clams and was told yes... It came out with clams. Aside from that, everyone njoyed their entrees. They serve hefty portions. Overall, the full experience was just okay. The staff were all very nice.

Service was 11/10 - our waitress was outstanding and really made sure we were taken care of. For 4pm on a Saturday, they were BUSY. We got the lobster spinach dip, crab soup, and the mixed seafood platter. I'd probably skip the spinach dip next time, there just wasn't enough salt. However, everything else was delicious! One of the places to be in Wilmington.

So this review will be a little bit different than normal. I never thought I would be doing a review on a restaurant that I thought was so amazing but the service lacked something. This restaurant was in walking distance from my hotel so my co workers and I tried it twice. Now our first visit, we were seated quickly but it took some time to finally have our drink orders taken. We had enough time to decide what we wanted before we were finally approached. The restaurant was busy and when we did finally get a server Dee. She was absolutely wonderful and a great server. She recommended different items and I have to say the Shrimp Tortellini and house's fresh garlic bread were delicious. It's also the reason I had to go back. So I went back to try the lobster Tuesday special. This time our server was Sara. She was awesome and very friendly as well. But it still took about an hr for us to get our food. But when it did finally come out the food was great. I am not sure the cooks in this place could go wrong. I had the fresh raw oysters and stuffed lobster. It was something out of this world. The restaurant is really nice and has plenty of seating and a full bar. They also have a great patio to enjoy along the water. If you are not in a rush and want some great food. Please stop in and get everything.

Our server Katie went above and beyond to help us when we had questions about the free crab cake platter promotion. Crab cakes were super meaty and not filled with breading like others I've had. They also give free saltine crackers with a tuna dip. This location is large with high ceilings inside. I just wish it had better ambient lighting because it was just so dark and depressing. All the tables are lined with white paper which I assume is save on cleaning tablecloths? Weird choice considering I only really see that at seafood boils.

We visited Big Fish Grill for a work dinner and had a party of 9. Restaurant is large and open with huge fish hanging from the ceiling. Not great decor, but it is a fish place. The view off the deck was the best part. Service was slow, food was mediocre. I ordered the Lemon Pepper Rainbow Trout which was really dry and a sushi roll that was average. Whatever mush spread they serve with crackers for the table is awful. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing but feel like fish should be a solid choice.

If you're thinking should I try this place the answer is yes! Yes, absolutely yes. We were immediately greeted and the service provided after was just as good. We ordered the crab cakes, sushi, and the jalapeño bisque. My husband ate every drop of the bisque. Order it :) The crab cakes are a little small but full of crab meat. No filler. I destroyed them and could have gone for another. The cocktails were just as delicious. Highly recommend this place for a date night or girls night. The seafood was fresh and we loved it.

Cool happy hour with good deals. $1 off draft, $6 mixed drinks. Really cool decor all throughout. Tons of seating available inside and plenty of outdoor seating right on the water.

Still going to give it 5 stars but I'll explain later. Came here for happy hour! Cate and Jen were so nice and very attentive!! Food was really fresh and the service was exceptional!! At the end of the night a guy came up to me and asked why I was taking photos. I said for my Yelp review! Well that ruined my night like I was some second class citizen! Im a tourist visiting from Los angels! You might want to be nicer when talking to your customers.

Just a quick shot of the menu. Not all the family was here on this trip.

This is the second time I have been here. The food was really good. The raw oysters were fantastic. The grilled shrimp were also excellent. My daughter got the stuffed lobster and thought I wanted the gumbo but I had the cioppino... they were out. We completed with the deep dish chocolate chip cookie that they couldn't eat last time because they were full. It was great. Comes out in a cast iron skillet topped with ice cream and some strawberries. Great night and time here. Happy to be back for a second chance to see they keep it going.

I was a bit hesitant to come here, having read some not too good reviews. We were glad we came, as the food was great and the place was amazing! It is big, high ceiling and with many humongous hanging sealife. As the name suggests, you can also be seated outside, near a walking path and river. We came on a Wednesday evening on our way back to NY. They offered a lobster special with a 2 course dinner: a choice of salad from the menu and 2 sides. The dinner choices were twin lobster tails, a 1 lb. whole lobster or shrimp and lobster Fra Diavolo for $37.50. We went with the twin lobster tails. They give you a nice fish spread and crackers to start. When the salad came out, I was so surprised that it was near full meal size. The main dish was very good - everything was grilled nicely. If there is one criticism would be the lobster was a little overly salted from maybe Old Bay seasoning - the lobsters already have salt from the sea water. We would come back again.

Yes. There is a large bar in the back with maybe a dozen or so seats. As well as several small high top tables.

The Lamb was also prepared perfectly but we didn't care for the seasoning. For dessert we had pistachio brûlée and sour cherry ice cream. The ice cream and brûlée were very good and the brûlée was large enough for both of us. It would be five stars, however, the cocktails took a while and we were not informed the butter for the steak frites would be an additional $6 and $9 dollars. The entrees were already $44. Planning an event like this isn't easy -- there's so much weight to it, wanting every detail to honor someone you love -- and this team made that possible in a way I'll always be grateful for. The decor in the room was beautiful. Soft draping along the ceiling, a gorgeous chandelier, candlelight, and floral centerpieces on every table -- it felt warm and intimate, like the space itself was wrapping its arms around all of us as we gathered to remember her. Seeing my mom's photo up on the screens around the room, surrounded by family and friends sharing stories, laughter, and tears, is something I'll never forget. The service that night was incredible. The staff moved through the room with such care, making sure everyone felt looked after, but never once making it feel like just another event. The bartenders, especially, brought such an open, easygoing energy -- they were so fun to be around, and they helped lighten the mood in a way that let us laugh and celebrate my mom's life, even amid the grief. Looking back, that mix of comfort and joy meant so much. The food was super delicious too, and in moments like this, even small things -- a warm meal, a kind smile, a drink poured with a little extra care -- mean far more than people realize. I have to give a heartfelt and BIG shoutout to Amanda, the event coordinator/manager. She was an absolute sweetheart, and her calm, caring presence made it possible for our family to actually be present in the moment instead of worrying about logistics. She made sure everything -- from the setup to the TVs and microphones working perfectly for the tributes -- ran smoothly, and her thoughtfulness didn't go unnoticed by any of us. Hosting something this meaningful in a space that felt this beautiful, with people this kind, made all the difference on one of the hardest days. I am endlessly grateful to Amanda, the bartenders, and the entire team at Tonic for helping us celebrate my mom's life with so much love. I can't recommend this venue enough!!
