I was traveling from out of town and wanted to visit Delaware because I had never been to this state. Stopped into the Union Street Pub and glad I did! This place is like a "Cheer" with an edge! It was Taco Tuesday and Music Bingo night! Tacos are reasonably priced, and Bingo is like community Bingo. The DJ hands out cards with songs and the artists in the squares. When the DJ plays a song, you mark that square if you have that song and artist (some have the same artist but with different songs). Once you have the right squares covered, BINGO! I didn't win but I helped identify a few songs for the winners. Oh by the way, get the Ceasars salad, it's a winner! Stopped for a late lunch, the steak sandwiches were huge and very delicious. Just a local corner bar with Steeler fans. Would highly recommend. Also very reasonable prices. read more

Went there last Saturday .. the food was good .. great bartender Lauren ! She was so sweet and friendly !! The only thing was this black dude blasting his music and I couldn't talk to my partner across the table .. it has potential but probably won't go back because no one said anything to him about his loud music . read more

Chill place, stopped in with the family on a Saturday evening for a pub style dinner. Bartender was incredible, was running the whole joint by himself, did a great job. Food was priced well, and was good. Only strange part of the visit was that they were out of a lot of beers. Kind of strange for a bar to be out of beer. Seems like a good spot to hang out with a couple friends, watch some sports and get your grub on. read more

Different cheesesteak #1092 in the last five years. This was supposed to be a day of Drinks and Pizza with Amigo Dan. But, it was Wednesday and Wednesday is buy one sandwich get one sandwich 50%. AND, they have a Garlic Bread Cheesesteak and Porchetta on the menu. The Garlic Bread Cheesesteak was pretty darn tasty. Very good garlic bread. The mushrooms and Fried onions added great flavor. I would have liked more out of the meat (flavor) and cheese (amount and melt). The porchetta stole the show. This was an all around amazing sandwich. The only thing I know about Broccoli Rabe is that it is hard to make. This was a very good broccoli rabe. read more

So, here's a few things - visited on an odd night in terms of a review goes, so take this for what you will - NFC championship commanders @ eagles. Service was rough. Couldn't really get anyone's attention and was ignored a few times. With that said, I can't necessarily blame the staff. Seemed understaffed generally for the event, while, also providing a member of staff with the worst situation they could imagine: their first day. Otherwise, ambiance incredibly lively in terms of the guests and really did seem like a fun spot to be in (particularly while drunk already). So, this doesn't go unnoticed // everyone seemed to be in high spirits if they were there for the entirety of the game. Now, is this because of the outcome of the game? More than likely, being a hot spot in Wilmington on Union St there's going to be some Eagles fans. The turn more or less happened for me when I noticed, what I thought was an unweary guest (making people incredibly physically uncomfortable), running around grabbing women, getting in peoples faces to an extreme and just generally being (in what I am putting in the nicest way possible) a pest. Come to find out, this was one of the owners. That put me off a bit because while I know the industry adheres to fun, for the owner to be acting unsavory towards people while blatantly drunk didn't strike me in the right chord. Few beers, sure. Couple shots, comes with the territory. But to be the reason people clear out after a game because you're being so weird, no. Will I give this place another go in the future? I can't decide yet. Really just puts a weird taste in the mouth when something so exciting is happening around everyone in an establishment, and the owner is trying to take advantage of people's inebriation and stature. read more

I have mixed feelings about my order. I ordered the garlic bread cheesesteak with fried onions, mushrooms, hot peppers, and extra cheese, which is my go to, everywhere. This is the first I had jalapeños, which is not expected. Banana pepper or long hot is expected. Jalapeños are too bitter, especially with seeds still attached. They were fresh, so it wasn't a good flavor to have with a steak. I hope that's not the normal because it ruins a good steak. I ordered through Grubhub so I have not been inside this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised my food arrived hot enough to burn my tongue. I would've given a 5 star review if there weren't jalapeños in my steak because the garlic bread is a nice touch and different and the amount of cheese was great. read more

Wanted to try something different from our usual Little Italy haunts so we thought we'd give Union St a shot. Place was uncrowded for a Friday night - almost ominously so and we were thinking "rut-roh how come there's no one here?" Turns out we were just a little early and the joint filled up as we were dining. We were invited to sit anywhere and we're given pretty comprehensive menus with the usual array of burgers and apps as well as quite a few Pasta and Seafood dishes. The server was attentive and pleasant, willing to make suggestions and answer all our questions. My wife ordered the garlic bread cheesesteak and I had the Calamari in white sauce served over linguine. Hers was a nicely flavored and tasty sandwich served with crispy French fries. Mine was a well prepared - but maybe a little bland (YMMV) dish with tender Calamari rings (no feet -a little disappointing - tho not everyone likes the feet). It grew on me as I ate it. It came with a yummy basic salad of crisp lettuce, cukes, and what seemed to be garden tomato. Told the waitress that the salad would prob be eaten mostly by Cathy (I'm not a big rabbit food fan) so she brought two forks. Cathy remarked that I ate a lot more of it than I usually do. It also came with some very nice garlic knots - doughy/chewy/first rate that had a lil red pepper in the mix to give it a little zip. Cold beer - good drinks - sports bar vibe. The food being served to our neighbors looked pretty good too. Bill was ~50 bucks with tip, so pretty wallet/friendly. Not the place for a romantic tete-a-tete or a fancy occasion but for an enjoyable casual Friday evening, we'll be back read more
