Service was great with new 'waitress in training' the wait was 20 minutes because they were short handed but we were served quickly after seated. We had 2/$25 so we chose the Big Bangin' Burger with xtra crispy fries with a side of tortillas and spinach, artichoke dip. The burger was spicy and we had four iced waters each.. it's just an afternoon Applebee's regular not too crowded American food ambience. The burger was great. The fries were great. Everything is good. Your sister got brownie bites with ice cream for a really reasonable after dinner. And as I've said before you get what you expect at a place like this just like Dairy Queen and I can't say anything was wrong. read more

This was honestly one of the worst experiences I've had at a restaurant. It took a very long time to get our food, and between getting our drinks and our meals we were only checked on once. The service felt very inattentive. The spinach and artichoke dip was especially bad -- the flavor was so off that I couldn't even eat it. Autumn was our server and she was great. I got my usual Fiesta Chicken Salad and it was really good! The last time I got this particular salad at a different location it was too spicy for me to eat. When I expressed my concern to Autumn she assured me that she would see that it wasn't too spicy, and it wasn't. I'm glad I gave it another try because I was quite disappointed to think that I would no longer be able to eat my favorite salad. My friend that I was vacationing with really wanted to eat at a restaurant that wasn't a chain restaurant. Both of us are happy that we did not stick with that idea. read more

Applebee's has a menu that is very inviting.... however, the food is so salty I was drinking excess water for 2 days. I was with a party of 5...all but one person said they could not finish their meal due to the high salt content. Hopefully through reading reviews the chef will reduce the amount of salt while making the food. Salt can be added.. but not reduced afterwards. read more

I had a horrible experience here with my family. They were out of steak. Let me say that again. They were out of steak. So I ordered shrimp. And they were out of cocktail sauce. So I got ahold of applebee's home office to complain. They sent me an automated email saying they'd get ahold of me in 2-5 business days. That was 2-8-2023. I waited until 2-16-2023 and called them back with my case number because no one contacted me. I was told "they'd escalate my case". I'm still waiting. Don't go here. I typically don't leave reviews for chain restaurants but I had to for this Applebee's! This is by far the friendliest Applebee's I have ever encountered! Talk about service with a smile! I called to order some food for pick up. Dawn answered the phone with the friendliest voice. She asked my name, which I know was necessary but she made it seem like she genuinely cared. She sent me to Sarah, the To-Go Specialist, who I could tell was just as friendly as Dawn! Just from over the phone I could tell they like their jobs and value customer service. Once I arrived at the Carside To Go parking, Sarah greeted me with a smile and took my payment right from my vehicle. I was early and she said she would go check on my order in the back! I think they are in the middle of hiring new servers and getting everyone used to working there, the food was great like always, the service on the other hand was not great. Our server didn't bring us drinks until she brought the food and we had to ask for our drinks, she said she forgot. It was near the end of her shift so she sat down at a table across from us counting her tips out while we had empty glasses waiting for a refill and we needed a few things. She finished counting her tips and printed off our check without asking if we wanted or needed anything else. She was a sweet girl but not the best at customer service. I am one who tries to go with the flow but tonight was ridiculous at this restaurant. We had a new waitress who tried but the management was nonexistent. No drinks but food came out than appetizers, the wrong ones at that. Manager was sitting up front and continued to put more people in her section never asked if she needed help if held up tables. The food was beyond greasy and my chicken wings were drier than my skin in the dead of winter.. when I used the bathroom there was a server who also used the restroom but failed to wash her hands afterwards thankfully she wasn't my server. My husband and I came for dinner last night and were pleasantly surprised! Usually not big fans of other Applebee's, we stopped because it was convenient and glad we did. The chicken wonton tacos were fantastic and my salmon was perfect. Even the broccoli was really good! Service was friendly, quick and efficient.. Brought four older teens to Petoskey for a short vacation, and they wanted Applebees for dinner on the first night. This Applebees was very clean, and when we arrived we were seated right away so I thought it was going to be great. The waitress was new, and I felt for her. She did not know the menu yet, and seemed pretty confused by our fairly straightforward orders. She forgot two items, but we'd already waited a while, so we pushed on. At one point a very tall 55-60ish man, the manager? Came over to see how she was doing. He told us several things were out, and seemed stern about charging extra for non-standard sides. We were fine with that, but he was still abrasive. Setting an example? I don't know, maybe teenagers annoy him. The food was edible, but not special. It seemed like some of it had been frozen and reheated, so a little dry? It wasn't the greatest experience, but not the worst either. They need to put sweetener on the table, and the manager should take a chill pill. read more

This review is solely about the service, because it's a chain restaurant. I wasn't expecting fine cuisine. My family was on vacation from Chicago and stopped here for the kids. The server, Aaron, was exceptional: waters were refilled before it could be requested, he repeated the orders to confirm that we were all on the same page, the food and drinks came out quickly, and he was polite and efficient. Near the end of our meal, he had two more tables sit down in quick succession, which can be stressful, but he maintained his collected and calm demeanor and made our experience there very enjoyable. I also had an issue with my credit card: I forgot to cut up my old one and the new one sent to me looks exactly the same. He was understanding and ran the separate card without any problems. Aaron was great. I can't say that we will be back, since it was a road trip stop, but I do hope he hears about the positive review! read more
