Walked in on a Saturday at 4pm. Whole place was empty except 3 people at bar. Bar tender was very nice but clearly in training. Gentleman training her was rude from the moment we walked in, probably due to our 4 small children who were almost silent for our entire visit. When ordering our kids water, and asking if they happened to have lids, he replies very rudely "this is a bar, we have whisky and beer". We then proceeded to get dirty looks from him and other patrons for the remainder of our visit. Needless to say we finished our drinks and didn't stick around long enough to order food. read more

Every once in a while I walk into a place and the vibe hits "just right"! This is one of those places. Quality jukebox, the Tigers on the tube and an olive burger on the menu. Don't expect anything fancy.....just settle in, pet the dog, munch a quality burger and enjoy a domestic draft. read more

Such a pleasant surprise ! Kyle the bartender was pleasantly chatty . Draft beer was a bargain - we had amber ales and Bells Oberon - the bar food was tasty! Drew had the tasty wet beef burrito - a very big beefy burrito w cheese , sauce and trimmings. I had a perfectly toasted grilled cheese and bowl of surprisingly good clam chowder. Brought my mom to this location during St. Patrick's Day to enjoy the live music. We were unceremoniously asked to leave our table as soon as we finished our food - they didn't even wait for us to finish our drinks. The food was disappointing and the behavior of the staff members I had contact with was abysmally bad. Have not been back since and instead would rather go a town over to the Bellaire Bar where the food is good and the service is friendly. read more

We love the Central Lake Tavern! In the Winter the place can be kind of slow, which is unfortunate. But during the summer it seems business is much better. While up north over the weekend, we stopped in for drinks and a late night snack. There were maybe 10 people in the bar.. we ordered Nachos. The girl behind the bar was very friendly and let me use her phone charger (I know.. how annoying am I!) The nachos were a great bar snack and the tab was cheap, they also had entertainment. The best part of the evening was getting to talk to the owner. We've met him before, and had the pleasure of speaking to him again. He is such a nice man; so friendly, down to earth, and deserves this Tavern to do well. He brings his cute dog to the bar as well. She's an older dog, and she's a sweetie. So friendly and loving, he let us give her dog treats too. We really hope the Central Lake Tavern does well, we enjoy stopping in here for drinks, food & entertainment. read more

We've been coming here for years. It is what it is...a great local bar with a good burger and reasonably priced drinks. It's had an ownership change and a sprucing up in the past few years. The owner is very friendly and the staff is always attentive. The customers are usually locals. I've never had to wait for a table. They make an effort to stock some craft beers, but you can get the basics, as well. read more

This is the only game in town and if there were 100 other restaurants we would come back here again and again. It was our first time and we were blown away. The interior was impeccable and organized and extremely clean. I said the same to the owner and she takes great pride in keeping the restaurant sparkling. On to the food, the produce was extremely fresh, salad dressings made in house and I had the special which was a gyro sandwich with homemade cucumber sauce. Delicious. Fries were perfect. My dad had a Reuben and he considers himself an aficionado of Reubens. He was impressed. The kids loved their mac n cheese (nothing fancy). When we head back this way, we will be sure to plan eating at The Club. Enjoy! read more

Unfortunately we had an experience here I hope no others have. We walked in with our two kids and was quickly informed by a waitress in rose colored glasses that they do not have boosters, a kid's menu, or other kid items. We said we had been there before and didn't expect that but thanked her for telling us. We waited for our food for 45 minutes before questioning how long it would be. The waitress in the rose colored glasses said she would check. She came back about five minutes later and said it was next to be cooked. I said then to cancel it if it haven't been cooked yet. She said it was being cooked and that their grill was not very big at all and it takes a long time to cook things, they are a bar, not a restaurant . Mind you at this time it was not busy!!! While we waited another 25 minutes two other couples that ordered food and arrived long after we had placed our order, received their orders and ate! Then our food came and they forgot one order. The same waitress in the rose colored glasses said "I just didn't have enough room for them, I will be right back". We waited another ten minutes for nachos and even asked another waitress about them and she said they were almost ready! So, they forgot to cook them, didn't apologize, or tell the truth. My wife picked up my kids orders and walked out while I paid for what we had received. The same waitress came out and asked if we even wanted the nachos! I said no paid and left. From the time we walked in The Tavern, that waitress acted like she didn't want us there. I have NEVER been treated like this at all at a restaurant, and will not be back. read more

We've eaten here several times since the new owner took over. Everything is good with reasonable prices. My only complaint would be that the kitchen closes early at times and while they offer a bar menu after that time we've been in a few times when it was completely closed early in the evening (around 8:30). read more
