So we had to go sit at a booth cause my wife is disabled and cannot stand for too long, a waitress walked to a table close to us and saw us and walked away, thinking she was gonna tell a waitress about us, but we sat there another 15 to20 minutes until another waitress came and asked us if we were helped but we told her no we haven't. I met my friend Bernice for lunch yesterday. This was the first time we've visited that it's the Applebee's and IHOP combo. William was our fantastic server. Bernice had unsweet tea while I had regular coffee. We both had the Quick 2 breakfast with 2 eggs, 2 bacon, hash brown, and toast. i had my eggs over easy while Bernice had her eggs scrambled. What an awesome time with my family! I haven't been at Applebee's in such a long time. But I was pleased that I went. The food was good. I will definitely consider going back. If I could give a negative stars I would. We waited over an hour for our food, and after about 45 minutes I asked the waitress how much longer it would be. She told us it would be another 30 minutes, yet shortly after that she suddenly brought the food out. She said it had just been made, but everything was cold. I asked how the food could have been freshly made if it was cold, especially since I had just checked on the wait time, clearly it had already been sitting for a while. I asked to speak with a manager, and no one came for another 15 minutes. When the manager finally arrived, I explained the situation and showed proof of how cold the food was. She didn't respond or offer any explanation she just stayed silent, which made the experience even more frustrating. I understand that restaurants can be understaffed or busy, but most places at least put up a sign or let customers know to expect delays so people can decide whether to stay. The lack of honesty, communication, and basic customer service made this a very disappointing experience. read more

Once we were finished, we waited for 15 minutes and she never came back to our table so we stood up and waited by the exit door until a young man approached us and said can I help you and I asked for the server. The server finally came from the back and said oh I'm sorry I was speaking to my manager. Really bad experience. This is an experience I had with Applebee's at 7880 Interstate-35. Worked late a few days and was hungry; everything was closed so decided to go to the closest Applebee's to get a "healthy dinner." Did not disappoint. Server/Bartender Steven V was extremely accommodating, did not mind that I was the last customer before closing snd recommended the appropriate "hearty salad" for me. Attentive service in addition to marvelous hospitality. Amazing strawberry chicken salad; little sour vinaigrette w/ some almond, lettuce and chicken on sweet sauce that savors all the taste buds. Coupled with the bread, and a blue moon draft beer, it surprisingly filled up my stomach to full. Because of the great food and service, will definitely come back again to try more healthy salads. So I bit into the sandwich and thus bit the hell out of that damn toothpick. My front teeth were left with a vibrating sensation for several minutes. It shouldn't have been $10.99. Also when I ordered it the waiter came back to the table to ask me what comes in a strawberry daiquiri. He didn't even ask the bar tender until the THIRD time! Ordered the Prime rib dip sandwich. The meat was tough as leather and burned around the edges. The "grilled onions" had no color whatsoever. The fries had no seasoning, so I asked for salt and pepper. The shakers were half empty and sticky. I requested sweetener for my tea and I was brought a half full container of sweetener packets. The server was nice. It appears they don't care about the product they are putting out and no pre-shift work is being done for condiments. I'd give this NO stars if I could!! They lock the doors at 11PM when they close at 12AM. There were maybe 4-5 other cars pulling in as well and all faced the same situation. Now, I understand coming to an establishment late but closing an entire hour before is ridiculous considering they have to-go orders as well (which was my plan: order/wait for my to-go while I had a cocktail). I also called to confirm the hours and simply asked if they happened to have a private party or event last night, explaining the locked-door situation, and he said no, there wasn't/shouldn't have been a reason the doors were locked. The Applebees on 35 near Windsor, is good leaving some room to make it great. Let's start with the good. The staff is very friendly and service oriented. Right now (April 2022), Applebees is featuring their assortment of Pasta Bowls. Each variation is plentiful and filling. I had the Grilled Chicken with Alfredo which I divided and took half home for my lunch during the week. Where there is room for improvement is to update the decor. The interior feels a bit dated. The booths are okay but, offer little support and the tables could use some sprucing up. In general the restaurant is clean, no dust from the light fixtures but, an overall refresh might go a long way. Prices are very affordable and many menu items are included in Applebees Spring prices stretching your dollar further which everyone can appreciate right about now. The bartender most-likely receives a pre-arrival intelligence report on me, because he always gives me the Texas-sized mug with two handles...one for each of my big paws. My go-to appetizer is simply the boneless wings generously tossed in their Classic Buffalo sauce. However, if you're really hungry, go with the Classic Combo appetizer--boneless wings, mozzarella sticks, chicken quesadilla, and tortilla chips with spinach & artichoke dip. The folks here are very nice, but my food order pick up tonight was appalling. First off, the app is terrible. I tried to just order nachos with no jalapenos. It's not possible. I finally called and ordered through the automated system. Still no way to keep those jalapenos off of there...You have to call the restaurant and hope that your order is in que. Then you have to hope that the message makes it back to the kitchen. When I arrived at the specified time to pick up, someone finally asks me what my name and order was...it obviously wasn't ready. I waited another 20 minutes for them to make it. Adding insult to injury, this is what came out for 15 bucks (the second picture is how it's supposed to look)..a smattering of unmelted cheese on a bowl of chips, a half empty little bowl of ground beef, a bowl of what is supposed to be queso (I think, but looks more like the loaded baked potato soup), and a tiny guac and sour cream.
