If you're seated at a table, know that there are hooks under the table for purses or caps. I really wanted to try their French toast but opted for the chilaquiles with panko chicken -yummm delicious. This has to be the cutest brunch spot in San Antonio. The interior decorator was on to something here. I visited this location on a Sunday afternoon before my flight. The place was packed and the wait time was 45 mins. Luckily, someone was leaving from the bar so I was able to get a seat immediately. I ordered the doughnuts to start and they were good. However, after a 45 minute wait, we ordered our food as soon as the server finally greeted us and still had to wait 45 minutes for our drinks and food. While expected when busy, we did note that nearly every table around us who sat down after/ordered after us received their food in a much more timely manner. I really enjoyed this place. Service was friendly and helpful. My chilaquiles was so delicious I didn't want to leave anything on the plate. The matcha was one of the best I've had. We sat outside so it was a bit hot, they need more fans. My niece said her sandwich was just okay. The best part was the bacon jam and there wasn't very much of it. We ordered let your man go matcha tea, ube latte and nine am drinks. They are tasty. In Texas weather I should have asked indoor and waited 10 min longer, the experience would have been more pleasant without the flies pestering you. Ahhh, brunch in San Antonio. I have been to plenty of places, but none left me feeling as satisfied as The Box, named after that rap song from 2019. You walk in and it already has that "we came here to make bad decisions with mimosas" energy, which is the only proper way to do brunch. I was there with a hot date and the goal was simple. Bottomless vibes without breaking the bank. For around $35 to $40 we grabbed a bottle and that is money well spent. Mimosas are the official currency of brunch and here they pour them like they mean it. We sat at the bar top and the service was on point, quick with the pours and easy with the laughs. That set the tone right away. Now to the food. I hit the jackpot. My date was cool with sharing plates, which left us with more fun money for bottles. The crispy fried chicken came dressed in a sweet spicy glaze with sesame seeds and herbs. It could go toe to toe with wings from any pub in town. The brunch plate had sausages, bacon, hash browns, mushrooms, eggs, and tomatoes. A spread that makes you forget what time of day it is. Somehow, somewhere between the food and the bottle, I do not exactly remember going home. What I do remember is this. It was a perfect Sunday or morning or whatever brunch technically qualifies as.
