We wanted to try something new in Mexican food. Arrived around 2 pm - had to wait about 3 minutes. Anthony was a perfect server, friendly and attentive. We ordered chips and salsa ($1.99) they came quickly. The salsa was tasty and not too spicy. I had Shrimp Nachos. There were plenty of them, lots of cheese and the guacamole was excellent, not a lot of stuff added to it. My husband had Carne Asada. It came with beans, tortillas and cheese enchilada. When he asked about barracho beans, Anthony brought them right away. The ice tea was strong and tasty and he kept our glasses filled. Everything was flavorful and beautifully presented. The building is new. It's very open with high ceilings, lots of windows and cement floors. There was plenty of outdoor seating. There were only a few parking spaces by the entrance. There was free parking on nearby side streets or paid parking in lots behind the restaurant. We would definitely go back when in San Antonio again. The drink menu looked fun! Salty food, every dish we ordered was the perfect medication if you are low in sodium chloride. $2 for a handful of chips and "salsa", just get a jar of salsa from a grocery store. Table for 4, only brings 2 cups of water, have to request for more water, let's not forget that the food is salty so the water is more than needed here. We don't live in San Antonio so it has been a while, 3 or 4 years since we last went to Rosario's and they are now in a new beautiful new building, which is very nice. The better news is the service and food is still as good as ever! Chips and salsa are the the best, salsa has roasted peppers which is out of this world. I am stuck on the Mole chicken, and have no intention of ever changing that. The dark Mole with chicken thighs is delicious! I intend to eat here again, whenever in San Antonio. read more

Had lunch today with family and friends. Of course you walk in and the ambiance and atmosphere is beautiful and very welcoming. Our waiter Allen was very friendly and informative. He explained drink specials and even recommended the Enchiladas Suizas. He even brought me a sample of the sauce which was very nice and much appreciated. I tried the sauce and decided to order the Enchiladas Suizas. I loved them. The combination of the sauce with the chicken in the Enchiladas was perfect. I'll definitely order them again. We also tried the chili relleno and Enchiladas de pollo. Everything tasted great and very filling. We will definitely be returning. And I highly recommend trying this place. read more

Great lunch with my coworkers here! First impression is that this restaurant is huge! There is a parking lot (paid) behind the restaurant. We put our name in and waited in the lounge area for a table. Once seated, our waitress was super friendly and bubbly. I had a mezcal marg to start and we shared chips and guac and cauliflower. I browsed the menu and was thinking about tacos, but our waitress said how good the enchiladas were. Well a heavy plate of shrimp enchiladas for lunch on a rainy day put me down lol! They were really good! Covered in cheese and served with rice and beans. Delicious. We couldn't even get dessert because we were all too full. The restaurant itself is really nice with bright murals. Shut the front door! The atmosphere, bartender, Kim, and the food... Excellent. I was here on a Sunday night. They had a decent crowd. The restaurant was very inviting. Everything I ate was full of flavor! The Albóndigas and the El Lalo were a great way to start a meal. The mezcal drink was nice and dry, I didn't want anything very sweet. The dried orange in it was delicious. The albóndigas were soft and the fried stuff on top took them to the next level. The lengua plate with refried beans and rice was the best tongue I have ever had. The tongue melted in my mouth. The flavors reminded me a little of Swiss steak because the gravy was tomato, peppers and onions. Nice and thick. Not enough people order this dish, order it! The refried beans a weren't just a smashed bean, the spices they use make them special along with the cheese on top. I so enjoyed lunch here today. It was my first time dining in the new location, which is fabulous. The ambience created by the vivid colors makes you feel good from the moment you walk through the door. Lunch prices were very reasonable and portions were sufficient. Came here everytime I've visited San Antonio. It's not too far of a walk from the riverwalk downtown. It is a large restaurant that always has a waitlist and event has a rooftop area that you can reserve. The menu is extensive and can get a little overwhelming but almost everything on the menu is good. You can always start with the chips and salsa. Personally though, I am not a fan of their chips and salsa. The chips are not light and crispy like other tex-mex places but rather very heavy and tasteless. The salsa also is on the watery side and kinda of bland. I did like their fajitas which came simmering hot with soft flour tortillas and steaks cooked to perfection. Service can be a bit hit or miss. The first time I came, our server did mess up our order. They also are not the most attentive to refill waters or bring by the check. read more

Loved it! Tonight was our first time trying Rosario's. Out hotel (La Quinta) suggested it. It was a Wednesday night. The place was maybe 30% occupied inside. No one outside as it was in the 50s. It was a bit loud in the seating group nearest to the boat, so we asked to be sat in the back. It was much quieter. That said, it did start to fill up after 6 pm. Our server was Robby. He was great. He was pleasant and super helpful with both the food and bar menus and selections. He did not steer us wrong. We started out with 2 of their signature margaritas. For $14, they were smallish and just okay. On round 2, we ordered the $10 margaritas and added Grand Marnier floaters. Much tastier in our opinion. We ordered Chips and Fire Roasted Salsa ($2). Wow - the salsa is really good. The chips were a bit puffy. We liked them. For dinner, I ordered an off-menu item: Ground Beef Enchiladas with Mexican Rice and Charro Beans. Loved the Enchiladas. The beans were decent. I'm not much of a rice fan - but they were decent as well. My wife ordered the Tacos A La Rosario. We shared both meals. I really liked her ground beef tacos. There were 2 of them. Her third taco was a Guacamole taco. We scooped the Guacamole out and used it for our chips. It was tasty. We did eat the taco shell as well. While we both liked the beef tacos, my wife wasn't a fan of the hard shell. She felt it was too hard. I loved it though. 1/29/26 - Lunch We enjoyed dinner so much here last night that we returned for lunch today! Today, our server was Maria. She was super nice and cheery. Maria took our drink order and returned in a flash with our iced teas. We started with an order of Fire Roasted Salsa and Chips. Yum as always. We shared an off-menu item for lunch. From the dinner menu, we had Shrimp Enchiladas with rice and charro beans. This was a great meal. Sharing a meal with chips and salsa was just enough food for lunch. I can't wait to return to S.A. I ordered Griselda's tacos callejeros to go for lunch and they were so good that I came back for dinner the same day. The tacos themselves were great, but the ratio of cabbage lime slaw to meat was a bit off for my taste. There was more slaw than I wanted, and I found myself wishing for more meat. For dinner, I switched it up and ordered the carne de puerco en chile cascabel so I could get a more protein-forward plate, and it absolutely delivered. The pork was incredibly tender, rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Even after I was full, I kept going back for the chips and salsa. The chips were light and airy, and the salsa struck the perfect balance between smoky and spicy. The guacamole was excellent, especially with the added jalapeños. I had the Pica Pica to drink and loved how refreshing it was, especially with the cucumber. The service was wonderful, and even though the restaurant was packed, it never felt overly loud or chaotic. Poor service my party of 12 received at your restaurant yesterday, July 19th. While I was away from the table, a waitress cleared my half-full espresso martini and my friend's beer. When I complained to the manager--a very tall, heavier-set man--he brought back a beer but only a literal half-glass of a martini. For a $16 drink, any other establishment would have replaced the full beverage. The waitress also seemed visibly unhappy to serve us. I have been to your restaurant multiple times and do not remember being charged for chips and salsa previously. Now, you charge for a tiny bowl and extra for refills. We arrived at 3:15 PM and planned to stay until 6:00 PM, but we left at 5:00 PM because of the service. Your establishment lost out on significant revenue, as our group would have ordered at least two more rounds. At $16 per drink for 12 people, that is $384 in lost sales. I won't be going back to Rosarios for a long time, which sucks because that was my go-to place every time I go to a concert. I would go there for my birthday dinners and would always suggest it when trying to find a place to eat while out with friends. It is sad to see that a little hole-in-the-wall has gotten greedy now that you look like a higher-end restaurant. I will say that food has always been really great. read more

The ceviche (both on the rooftop and inside the restaurant) is some of the best ceviche we've had in town. Parking for this restaurant can be difficult, so get there early if you have a reservation. Best chille relleno that I've ever had. You could easily tell the freshness of the ingredients and the spices, which were all beautifully layered on the pepper. The textures and flavors were surprisingly light and clean, as opposed to heavy and greasy like the same dish you might find elsewhere. I'm not huge into reviewing the ambiance of places, but this place had a pretty good ambiance too. If you are a tourist, I would definitely recommend some time away from the riverwalk tourist traps to come here. read more

I loved the old Rosario's, and I loved the Rosario's on San Pedro. I expected to feel the same way about this new location which replaced both of the other restaurants. The new location is several blocks from the original, and unbelievably, the parking has gotten worse. In fact, finding the parking lot was an issue (I guess it depends on the street you use to get here). Then finding the entrance was another issue as signage is extremely poor. After finding the entrance and going in, I was surprised on how nice the interior turned out. I think the interior is better than either of the old locations. We did not go up to the rooftop bar as it was closed today, so I can't say anything about that. The help was pleasant but aloof. However, we were seated quite quickly. Our server took our drink orders, and we placed an order for chips and queso. We also ordered some chips and salsa (I can't believe they charge for that in San Antonio as nearly all their competition gives it away). When our server came with our meals, I asked my wife if she wanted to cancel our chips and queso appetizer. Our server asked if we never received it, but our table was clearly empty except for our drinks. She said she would rush out the order if we still wanted it. The meals were good but not as good as the other locations. The queso appetizer was delivered late, and it was bad (Velveeta melted over some peppers and tomatoes would have been better). I wish we had canceled it. Our server never asked us about refills or if we wanted anything else. Basically, she took our orders, delivered them, and never came back until delivering our bill. Will I return? As many great TexMex restaurants are spread all over the city, are easy to get too, have ample parking, and better service, I have to ask myself why would I? read more

We got to go for a co-worker's birthday lunch today. The atmosphere was great! Fun, exciting and even quiet enough at lunch that we didnt have to yell. Our server was priceless and she helped us if we had any questions. Our table was quickly set for 8 people as two tables had to be pulled together. Water was already waiting on the table with glasses filled and even pitchers on the table...that is a great plus for those HOT San Antonio summers. Our party even split the bill at the end and the waitress had not one problem doing it. I am super excited to come back here! The salsa and chips were yummy. The salsa was not too hot and was made with roasted tomatoes (so cooked for those allergic to non cooked tomatoes). The appetizer guacamole was really tasty and had just enough zing to make you want another bite. Lunches...I had the Enchiladas Suizas. I was expecting a white cream sauce like the normal white creama chicken enchiladas...NO! This was made with a white wine and was snappy with a full bodied flavor of the cream. It was slightly sweet and I really loved how fluffy the rice and how flavorful the refried beans were. I hope to come back soon to bring my family to try the food here. I did not taste the other foods, but major head nods and tells of very good and flavorful food. The table got very quiet once our food arrived. As visitors to San Antonio, we always enjoy Tex-Mex, so we were excited to try Rosario's after hearing so many recommendations. The restaurant leans more toward authentic Mexican cuisine than Tex-Mex, so it wasn't exactly what we were looking for, but that comes down to personal preference. The shrimp tacos were very good, although the shrimp was a bit too salty for our taste. The award-winning chips and salsa were just okay. The salsa had a strong roasted, smoky flavor from the charred ingredients, which some people may enjoy, but it wasn't our favorite. The chips were thicker rather than the thin, crispy style we prefer. The margaritas were definitely a highlight--they were well made and generous with the tequila, making them enjoyable without being overly sweet. Overall, if you prefer authentic Mexican flavors, Rosario's is worth a visit. If you're more of a Tex-Mex fan like we are, your experience may be a little different. read more

I don't mind paying for quality--I'd gladly pay more for great food and great service--but value and transparency matter. If the menu says a dish comes with avocado, most people expect more than a tiny garnish. At these prices, the portions feel pretty stingy. read more

We celebrated my friends birthday here and she made reservations (although they do not actually take reservations they took her info ahead of time and put her on the waitlist early as it was a larger party). Keep in mind their waitlist is NOT an actual reservation and you will still have to wait a bit. Our waiter was very kind and helpful with us all and very attentive , until he randomly was nowhere to be found mid-meal and we had to ask other servers for help. He must've gotten bogged down with other tables or taken a break but it is what it is. The food and drinks were still exceptional. I'm pregnant so I asked for a mocktail and mine was perfect. Usually with alcoholic and mocktail drinks they're filled with ice and you only get a few sips of drink but this one was filled plenty with drink. The plate I chose wasn't actually on the menu but similar items were (chicken chipotle quesadillas and chicken chipotle breast) but I asked the server if they could make it into enchiladas which he said they could. Let me tell you, best enchiladas I've had in a longgggg time!!!!! Always ask your server if you're curious about a dish possibly being available !! The rooftop bar is 25+ and was such a good vibe. The drinks are a little cheaper upstairs so my friends ordered more up there (drinks were $5+ extra downstairs). You get the perfect view of the tower of americas and tons of comfortable seating options. I definitely recommend coming here with your friends at nighttime for the full experience! ****PARKING - is difficult as you may assume as it is downtown.
