Went to Applebee's in San Dimas, and I had a great experience. Even on Friday nite, wait was almost non-existent. Ordered the dinner for 2 with my wife, I had the Grilled Chicken and Shrimp, my wife had the Three Cheese Penne. Meals were quick, serve hot, but very tasty. Chicken cooked to perfection, shrimp was really good. But it was our server that really made it special. I think her name was Natalie, and the manager very warm and friendly. This location is a 0 customer service, which is amazing, but the food was horrible. My daughter and I both got sick. We did the all you can eat wings. Only two rounds did not even eat them, so they took them and then tossed them in the trash. The spirte was not carbonate the lemonade was watered down. Poor service and management... We arrived around the time that they open which is 11am. There were many empty seats but the waitress wouldn't seat us down. We go every first Tuesday of the month in a large group after our meeting and last night our server was a bit clueless. But I almost blame the manager for sticking us in his section. I rarely give a bad review, but I'm so mad. We got home ridiculously late because it took this kid an hour to split up the bill. If he would've taken the orders the way they always do the orders. It wouldn't have been an issue. If we go in next time, maybe we should all sit at separate tables in the same area so that way he won't be so confused on how to split up the bill. Was one of the last tables sat with friends and family (6 of us) for my sisters graduation. Natalie was so sweet and attentive to us. Arriving so late and being in the restaurant till almost midnight (we weren't the only ones please don't judge lol) I expected not the best service. But I loved our server. She laughed along at our jokes, checked up on us regularly, and dealt with our needs well. The food was delicious, and we were all very satisfied with our appetizers, main courses, and desserts. I stopped in here on my way back home from the fair with my parents. We got seated right away but it did take a while before our server finally came to us. She was friendly but really slow, and lacked coming over to check up on us and give us refills and what not. My parents ordered full on meals and well since I wasn't too hungry I just got a baked potato on the side for one of their dishes. Note that you can only get this 4-10pm. It came out, baked from the oven hot and ready to go. She also brought out extra butter which was nice cause I didn't need to wave her down later to get more. I came here after a long day of Raging Waters with family. We came as a party of 30 and they didn't really accommodate for us. The server was disgruntled and seemed almost as if he did not want to be there. The following are mishaps during our experience on Applebee's end: 1. Not utilizing technology if there was a big party that was going to split the bills several ways then what they could've done was use the tablets that were on each and every table. 2. Communication The Kitchen and the waiter were not on the same wavelength. I told the waiter wanted the Shrimp Stir Fry without the Shrimp. He brought me an order of the Shrimp Stiry Fry with more seafood and no rice. Big downer. Also, the kitchen ran out of many items but did not tell the waiter that prior to us ordering. Communication can use some work 3. Customer Service It is important to provide a friendly service to people who are paying you for a quality dining experience. The least you could do is smile and do your best to accommodate for us. However, the server was selfish and did not care for his lack of interpersonal skills. Overall, I do not recommend Applebees for large parties or just for anyone in general. This restaurant lacks fundamental principles of being a functioning establishment. read more

This evening was one of the best Applebee's experiences we've ever had! Our server Ashley was so engaging and attentive. The other servers who brought out the dishes were just as nice. The restaurant was clean, though the table had a little stickiness...I'm a clean freak, so I notice everything...but it wasn't enough to deter me from genuinely enjoying myself. The food was fine, your normal Applebee's fare. The star that night was without a doubt, Ashley and her colleagues. Solid but not spectacular. I had the 6 oz salmon and sides of garlic mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. I was so hungry I forgot to take a photo but the salmon wasn't over cooked which is always a big plus and the veggies were cooked just right as well. The garlic potatoes didn't have so much flavor. To be honest, I haven't been to Applebees many times in my life. They're usually found in the suburbs, where I've never lived. But we had such a great experience here that I felt compelled to review it! My fiancé, an Air Force veteran, and I have a tradition every Veterans' Day where we go to as many restaurants offering specials as we can. We took his son to the Denny's next door, but when the wait was too long, I suggested Applebee's. I'm so glad we came here! We were warmly greeted by 2 restaurant servers who were personally welcoming all veterans coming in, and seated right away. Flags for every branch of the military and special projects adorned all of the walls of the restaurant. They even had a special, set "table of honor" near the door with a place setting for soldiers who were still missing. Applebee's does Veterans' Day better than any other restaurant we've seen. We were promptly offered a kids' menu and crayons, a free beer for my fiancé, and a special veteran menu for the day. Some restaurant's special menus for the holiday have been kinda lame, but this one had tons of good stuff.... he settled on the steak with mushrooms and mashed potatoes. My stepson and I shared the cheeseburger egg rolls (seriously, get them! Even if it sounds like an abomination, they are delicious) and pretzel sticks with beer cheese sauce. Servers occasionally stopped by to thank him for his service, it was cool to see tables full of old men wearing their uniforms, looking like they were probably old military buddies, and we made some friends too. I don't have high expectations for chain food, but it was actually really, really good. We were treated so special here that we were so glad we came! When our waitress asked "how's everything", the honesty kicked in and I said "it was okay.... salad is good, but the meat was tough". Our waitress asked if we wanted anything else instead. Missing the "Oriental Chicken Salad" for a few years. Passed by this location and went inside with mom. We ordered for 2 for $22 or $27 deal. What's good about what we ordered is that you can choose an entree from the 2 for $ 22 and another person can choose an entree from the 2 for $27 menu. The total will be about $24.50. Or the nearby wine bar closed and this is open late for some food. I have yet to have any food item wow me. But they do have a happy hour with some discounted drinks and snacks. And their happy hour starts again at 9 or 10pm for a late night happy hour. And they have a weekend happy hour. So that is a good thing. Chips and salsa are not great, but decent enough for happy hour.
