Just went there for an early dinner on 7-16-26 and everyone else enjoyed their meal...I threw half of mine out. The mini meal for BB Beef was so tough! I thought they put water on some chunks of jerky and put it on top of the rice and cabbage. When I made a comment about how tough the meat was, both my hubby and son tried it and both spit it out. The one time I've been to Hawaii was a last-minute trip and lasted four days. It was pretty eventful but I feel like I missed out on a lot of hidden gems as far as places to eat. Because of that I can't tell you what goes into good Hawaiian food. I can only tell you the dishes I've always liked, which are the bbq ribs/kalbi, the bbq chicken, the katsu chicken, and occasionally the spam. Ono has always made excellent versions of these dishes, no matter which location you go to. This location is the same. Everything I ate here hit the spot, including the crispy shrimp I had this time. The service was pretty decent. They were super efficient, friendly, and seemed eager to make your experience a pleasant one. The tables were a tad dirty, but there were plenty to choose from, and it was mostly a minor inconvenience and not something to complain about. My husband and I made online orders to pick up our meals this past Monday. My husband made his own order and I ordered the following for both my mother and I to share: Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Plate, $11.99 prior to tax- I figured my mom would prefer a grilled version of chicken, so I ordered this with her in mind. This entree comes with a large portion of chicken, three scoops of steamed white rice and a side of salad that is mostly shredded cabbage, carrots, purple onion and lettuce. Both my mom and I really liked the chicken and so did my husband (since he ordered a plate too). The salad was nice and hearty. I liked the flavor of it and prefer a green salad to be made with cabbage so that is can last for another day. Chicken Katsu Plate, $11.99 prior to tax- I ordered this for myself, which came with a lot of chicken. It also came with three scoops of steamed white rice and salad. If you want Katsu sauce or teriyaki sauce, you can fill up the plastic cups with them by the pick up area. I thought the chicken was pretty good. My mom also likes the chicken. I came here to use an Uber eats credit that I had. I ordered everything on the app and when we arrived, they were still not available for dining indoors due to the pandemic. Eating in the car was the other choice I guess. My order was ready and on time based on my Uber eats pick time. I had the kalua pork plate with katsu and side salad replacing the mac salad which I meant to sun the rice for. The pork was perfectly cooked ( I wished I had more), meanwhile the katsu had the thinnest of chicken coated In katsu. I felt like it was just breading and a bit on the crunchy side. i was so sad cuz i ordered the chicken katsu through uber eats, i know with delivery it can be a bit tricky since the food won't be extremely fresh when you get it. but even then, when i got my katsu chicken half of the chicken was already room temperature and some parts even still cold. i work in food service so im very aware of food safety and i was genuinely scared of eating the chicken katsu so i discarded all of the chicken unfortunately. i did eat most of the mac salad and the crab rangoons were okay at best. i was so disappointed because i did hear good things about this place. maybe i need to try again in person, but this delivery was extremely disappointing :( read more

It satisfied my craving so I have no complaints. Now, the fire island chicken meal was the star! I got it as a mini meal which comes mean the chicken, one scoop of mac salad and one scoop of rice, side salad (they offer different options for sides) and a drink. There was also an added bonus of veggies underneath the chicken. My goodness, my container was heavy considering it was a mini meal. I can only imagine how heavy the regular meal would have been. The Mac salad was delicious and not too overly heavy on the mayonnaise. The side salad came with dressing that I wish I had asked 2 of because it was that good. The side salad even had edamame in it. A customer in front of me asked for more teriyaki sauce and another worker told him he could only 1 - he stated he had two meals: Ieleen then very rudely stated just give him the 2 but that's it... Now it's my turn, I ordered & paid online via the Yelp app. once I arrived at store, I tell them my name but she insists on seeing my phone. So I walk back out to the car, grab my phone. I told her it's supposed to be a bottle of Blue Powerade and she said very rudely they don't sell that here - and I told her the app shows it. She said well we don't. I asked her how do I get a refund because I'm not spending $3.00 for a bottle of water. She came from behind me and placed a large fountain drink of blue Powerade on the counter and told me just to take it, but remember for next time. They hand me my bag and I asked for extra teriyaki sauce and the other worker says it's in the bag, I told them there was 4 meals in there. He said there should be 8 in there. I love Hawaiian bbq. Musubi is a popular item. I have been in other Ono restaurants and they make musubis that have bigger meat portions. The Ono in Glendora serves the smallest meat portion for Musubi. There's hardly any chicken or spam, all rice. So don't buy the musubis at the Glendora Ono restaurant.
