Absolutely terrible experience at The Habit in San Dimas. My order was completely wrong, and on top of that, the Coke dispenser wasn't working. What made the experience even worse was how the manager, Lupe, handled the situation. I explained the problems to her, and rather than trying to fix anything or even show genuine concern, she essentially told me to fill out a few things and then walked away. It came across as if she simply couldn't care less about the customer or the experience. Mistakes happen, but how you handle those mistakes says everything about your business. I expected much better from a manager. The food being wrong was frustrating enough, but the complete lack of customer service and concern was what really left a bad impression. I wish I looked at this Habits yelps before bringing my family here . I paid 50 dollars to get cold old reheated food . I asked for well done and got raw as well . When we showed the fries how old they were I noticed the one in charge of fry station and pass off was the Manager Lupe . She seemed really upset that she had to make fresh ones and when we asked for ranch she handed us a slip to customer service .This location needs new management . Was no excuse for all that as store was empty . Do better . The bathrooms were filthy I saw people cleaning their own tables place was a dirty mess . The Charburger meat patties can be a little less dry, but the fresh burger condiments do help the burger taste a lot better. Savory onion rings and fries. Shakes are solid, just not one of the best shakes out there. Their Side Garden Ranch salad is bomb, a healthier side option. Love their creamy ranch dressing. Charburger was decent. The meat was overly cooked and tasted burnt. However, it wasn't anything that stood out from other burger spots I've tried. but the burger itself was okay--not great. The onion rings were light and crispy with a side of ranch. (Sadly, they charge extra .60 for ranch..) The service was alright. I was in the mood for a Habit burger. There's just something perfect about grilled onions on a cheeseburger. The strawberry lemonade here is always good. It's a nice options outside of restaurants. I love the dip my fries in malt vinegar before the ketchup. All this together is my Habit burger perfect experience. When you walk in you walk in you have the option to order through the kiosk or a cashier. Today there was a long line to order, but we still opted to order with the cashier because that is someone's job. The staff here is always great and helpful. Worst service ever. My daughter dropped her gummy hamburger that comes in the kids meals. He wouldn't give us another. Then I forgot to order ranch. And he wanted to charge us .60 cents. We come here all the time. And they never ask us to pay for ranch. And they give us extra gummies for our kids who didn't even order kids meals. They normally have amazing customer service. Honestly I want to give a 5 star review for this habit specifically. Everytime I order pick up or to go, they are RIGHT on the money in terms of timing. They never give me a hard time if I order extra ranch. And I've never had a problem with them in terms of food quality or flavor. It's always good. The restaurant itself is also clean, well lit, and easy to access. Haven't been here in about five years when my wife and I came here to purchase salads and we noticed none of the employees were wearing gloves. It was busy that day and we watched as the same employee that worked the grill was wiping down everything then went back to make the salad and did not wash his hands. Well we canceled the order and got our money back. I went home and called Habit corporate to report the issue. To my surprise they said the corporate policy did not require employees to wear gloves. Keep in mind this was just before Covid. Well today we finally came back for burgers and noticed all kitchen employees wearing gloves. Thank you Corporate for using common sense. I've been coming here for 10 years and have never been charged for condiments. Unfortunately, I will not return to the Habit. I'll stick with In-N-Out for a superior burger, better customer service, and no charges for extra sauces. When I used to work in San Dimas, I would eat here at Habit Burger Grill (HBG) with my co-workers ever so often. Now of course, this was pre COVID-19 because that was before 2015 when my work was still in San Dimas (WOW... it's been 8+ years ago! Time really flies when we're having fun.). So yes, this is a very very very long overdue review, but hey, at least it's getting done now... 8+ years later LOL. I've stopped eating beef since my Dad passed away several years back. I almost became a vegetarian, but I ended up adding seafood and poultry back into my diet slowly, but surely. Anyway, I don't get the opportunity to enjoy a good burger in current times, but that's okay. My go-to sandwich nowadays is a scrumptious chicken sandwich... maybe one day we'll see this title on the menu board LOL. Well, we've hit the jackpot... HBG has a Grilled Chicken Sandwich (GCS) on their menu. They also have a Crispy Chicken Sandwich... will try sometime. The GCS is just a mouthwatering sandwich! Chicken breast was tender, veggies were fresh, teriyaki sauce was amazing... just delicious all around! The only gripe I had was that it was a small sandwich. May need to order two sandwiches next time LOL. I also ordered sweet potato fries with my sandwich... perfect combo! If I recall, I didn't have any issues with the staff. I will say friendly and pleasant. Prices back then were cheaper than what they are today for sure. I do remember the dining inside was a little snugged, but they do have some outside patio dining. Located in an outdoor shopping center in San Dimas, The Habit is very convenient if you are shopping in the area. The set up is very similar to The Habit in La Verne. My visit was on a Thursday at peak lunch hour. Parking was easy. The line was short. Seating was good. The indoor dining room was almost full but it was empty outside on the patio. I ordered at the counter, received my buzzer and waited for my food to be ready. The wait for my food seemed a bit long considering it was not busy but it wasn't horrible. My veggie burger was tasty and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and helpful. The Habit seems to always be a wonderful choice to grab a quick somewhat healthy meal. My wife loves their Ahi tuna however she likes hers with blue cheese on it and it is not on the app. So, if you call in the order its crap because although you are ordering between meals 2 or more hrs before supper they still don't answer the phone, and it is to a central location anyway so they cannot add anything you ordered with the app. There was a time when they could make changes on their end but not anymore. In my opinion this is fast food however there is nothing convenient or fast in an app that is crippled. I know that when I go to pick up her food today and ask for them to add Blu cheese, they will probably tell me they cannot, and I will be upset and not visit the Habit for a few months until my wife harangues me enough to do so.
