I came in around 8pm 7/27 sat down and was waiting for my daughter told her I would put the order in so it would be ready by the time she got to the restaurant. 2/$25 Wings and two steaks. Not a lot of people there so I put in an order at 8:18pm. Looked at the clock 8:38pm we still hadn't gotten our wings I told her it takes about 15 -20 minutes rationally but the wings should have been out already. A new server came and we were not sure what he said that our server was getting himself food or putting in our food that he would assist. Another 10 minutes our original server came back and said it should have been out already and we hadn't even mentioned anything at this point. I'm sure he saw my daughter's RBF I told her relax. She's like me but I was trying to be optimistic I had a long day at work so he comes back said it is coming out in 2 minutes but it was the wings that came out not the food. Took 35 minutes for the wings and by this time I was like I'm just paying for the wings let's leave if it's not out in 5 minutes. I should've left already at this point but my daughter was hungry. Boom food came out 40 minutes later. She said you called it mom. Now at this point it is 8:58pm. I told my daughter eat cause now I am not hungry and it is too late for me to eat I have to be in bed in like an hour for work. She scarfed the food down so fast cause she was hungry upset stomach. Now I know he forgot to put the order in cause I was also looking at the tablet and I couldn't click it to pay until after we got our wings. We left I paid he is lucky I tipped still cause I saw the look on his face and I have a soft spot I used work food 12 plus years before I went office. I made my fair share of mistake's dropped glass forgetting extra sauce or some extra napkins but I got on it checked on it. Apologized ext..... I took the food home and now I will have it for lunch right now but how do you forget to put in an order? This generation I just don't understand what motivates you. I was an exceptional server went way beyond what was asked for. Ask by bosses. I am only 35 I'm not a Karen but my goodness! We will still come here it won't stop me cause this experience. You have a great steak and good drinks. Just a little acknowledgment would have been nice but I guess I need to be more assertive with some not all servers because I have that soft spot. My daughter's first trip to Applebee's. Our waiter, William, was fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant from the moment we sat down. He somehow always appeared right before we needed something. That's a talent. The atmosphere was another pleasant surprise. Cozy, family-friendly, and comfortable. Even with the World Cup on, it never felt loud or rowdy. We could actually enjoy our dinner and conversation. Here's what we ordered: - Hot Tea - $2.99 - 8 oz. Top Sirloin (rare) with broccoli and green beans - $20.99 - Blackened Cajun Salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli - $22.29 Everything was cooked exactly as ordered. The steak was perfectly rare, the salmon was flavorful, the vegetables were fresh, and the portions were generous. Then came the biggest plot twist. Two delicious entrées, a hot tea, a water, excellent service, a cozy atmosphere, and we still walked out spending just $61.50 including a 20% tip. In this economy?! Can't ask for more. I had a very disappointing experience here today. I was scheduled for a job interview at 4:20 PM and even called earlier in the day to confirm. I spoke directly with Susan Sanchez, the manager, and received verbal confirmation that the interview was still scheduled. I arrived about 10 minutes early and let the host know I was there for an interview. After waiting about 20 minutes, no manager came out to greet me, acknowledge me, or provide any kind of update, so I eventually decided to dine at the restaurant instead. Once I realized who Susan Sanchez was, I noticed her looking in my direction several times, but she never approached me to apologize, explain what happened, or offer to reschedule the interview. From what I observed, she seemed more focused on tending to her son and making sure his food was brought out. I completely respect taking care of your family, but a simple acknowledgment would have gone a long way. Even a brief apology or letting me know the interview needed to be rescheduled would have shown basic courtesy and professionalism. I do want to recognize Lorena, the evening manager. Throughout the evening, she was making her rounds and eventually approached my table. I explained what had happened, and she was very apologetic and understanding about the situation. The hostess, Ariel, was also extremely kind and even brought me a small dessert to cheer me up, which I genuinely appreciated. Their kindness was a bright spot in an otherwise frustrating experience and showed the type of customer service and professionalism I would have expected from the beginning. I understand that restaurants get busy and schedules can change, but basic communication and respect go a long way. I made the effort to confirm the interview, arrive early, and be available at the scheduled time. I recommend Applebee's (Azusa). The food is fresh, cooked well, and affordable. Currently, the main deal is the "2 for $25." That's one appetizer and two full entrees for $25. At that moment, I realized that I'd be bringing a lot of leftovers home. No regrets! I selected the Crunchy Onion Rings, Chicken Parmesan Fettuccini, and 8oz USDA Select Top Sirloin ($5.50 upgrade). The Parmesan Fettuccini came with a breadstick and fried chicken filet. The Sirloin came with two sides. I selected mashed potatoes and "four-cheese mac & cheese with applewood-smoked bacon." The mac & cheese was a $1.99 upgrade. In total, the base cost is $32.49 for this feast. It's a lot of food! I arrived at Applebee's (Azusa) on Thursday (around 7:25PM). Parking is plentiful. This location is located in the plaza across Azusa Pacific University. I waited a few short minutes before being sat down. My server (receipt said Alejandra) is professional but unmemorable. She spoke very little, and she vanished a lot. However, it's impressive how Alejandra memorized my order instead of jotting it down. As mentioned, I ordered the "2 for $25" deal with several upgrades. I selected the Crunchy Onion Rings, Chicken Parmesan Fettuccini, and 8oz USDA Select Top Sirloin (Medium Rare). The Crunchy Onion Rings arrived within 13 minutes and 33 seconds. The Chicken Parmesan Fettuccini and 8oz USDA Select Top Sirloin both arrived in 29 minutes and 36 seconds. The food's pace felt quick. Concerning the food, it tasted absolutely delicious! The food arrived beautifully plated, hot & fresh, and well-cooked. The chefs are exceedingly talented for an Applebee's. The Crunchy Onion Rings arrived hot, crisp, and freshly made. Its light crust was buttery and crackly. When dipped into its smoky and savory bbq sauce, its flavor blossoms. The Chicken Parmesan Fettuccini is also presented well while containing good flavors. Although the noodles felt a little mushy, there's a pleasant gentle cheese aftertaste. Its sauce is creamy and cheesy. Unfortunately, its fried chicken is a little chewy and dry. Most surprisingly, its breadstick tasted phenomenal. That simple breadstick had a light buttery crunch while keeping its insides very fluffy. The 8oz USDA Select Top Sirloin is the showstopper. My medium rare steak arrived juicy, buttery, peppery, and generously seasoning. For a USDA Select Top Sirloin cut, this slice of meat is a good quality. My knife easily sliced through, and its meat had a firm but tender bite. Next, the mashed potatoes tasted hot, buttery, hearty, and fresh. Absolutely delicious! Unfortunately, the "four-cheese mac & cheese with applewood-smoked bacon" was my least favorite. This macaroni had a strong "fast food" bacon bits flavor; its pasta was mushy; and its cheese tasted dry. Regarding ambiance, Applebee's (Azusa) is clean, well-ventilated, spacious, and well-decorated. The tables are smooth and shiny. The wall artwork are also very eye-catching as it uses photos from the Azusa community (ex: Azusa Drive-In Theater; Azusa Pacific Athletes). This location also has many flat screen TVs playing football and baseball games. On its speakers, upbeat music also plays in the background. Overall, Applebee's (Azusa) serves delicious food at very affordable prices. It's also mind boggling how such an innocuous business offers such sumptuous steaks. I left full with a lot to-go boxes. We ended up at Applebee's after changing our plans for the day, and honestly it was exactly what we needed. The host was so kind and welcoming to our family and made us feel completely at home. He even took a photo for us with our baby Theo, which was such a sweet gesture and genuinely made our day. Whenever someone mentions Applebees we all think it's okay food. This experience really surprised me on how they are back with quality food. Plenty of parking in plaza with grocery outlet. I was greeted multiple times. Waitress was super attentive and friendly. Manager (male) checked in on us a few times. Came in for happy hour today! Was quickly seated in the bar, which was a good sign. However, we had to sit there for over 10 minutes, with nobody acknowledging our existence. More than one employee walked by us, even the manager refused to acknowledge our existence. Bartender was busy making drinks and didn't even look our way. One of the servers looked to be completely stoned. The table behind us had asked for their server, as their drinks seem to have been forgotten. "Stoner boy" was kind enough to get their server, however, I noticed, that that server was just as high as the other one. I have no problem with that! Do what you wanna do. Just don't do it at work! Seems to be that there's no management. Even though the restaurant has been redone recently, and it looks nice inside. Can't comment on the food taste or quality. Because we had none! I love coming here for their happy hour specials which happens everyday after 9pm. They have discounted drinks and half off appitizers! My favorite appetizer that's half off is the wonton chicken tacos. I also love the chicken tender salad. This comes with honey mustard dressing which tasted great! Overall the drinks taste good too for a chain restaurant. It's not the best drinks I had, however for the price it's good. Came to pick up food ! The doors were locked it was 11:50 pm I made an online order. I'm kinda knock and one of the employees starts waving and smiling at me I point at the door he continues to now laugh an wave like it's some kind of joke! Listen, I know its Applebee's- but I've never been to this Azusa location. We went in Friday jight and good thing got there early- before 6pm because we wanted to try the Halloween cocktails. That we did and for only $6 each they were Huge and Hit The Spot! I loved the Zombie- inspried blue/green one (the melon liquor on top was "chefs kiss") and companion preferred the frozen margarita-esque Vampire! Got a spinach-artichoke app snd you just can't go wrong. Applebee version is like a very creamy and smooth white wueso with some spinach and a few artichoke pieces thrown in. It is delicious. Tried the blackened salmon, accompanied with mashed potato and steamed broccoli. On point! Portion was perfect- not too large but certainly filled me up. Companion had the chicken/shrimp I forgot the name but its their signature fish. Darn if those shrimp were sweet, tender and perfectly cooked. Chicken tender and yummy. Didn't save room for dessert. But you know all the dishes were solid. With happy hour you can certainly get put with a check for two that is very reasonable. Again, I highly suggest early seating because towards the end of the meal, service deteriorated considerably. Took awhile to get the check and the dishes cleared. This is the 20 minute mark after being sat. We watched as a table across from us who had been sat after us had their orders taken and their drinks served. Finally a server came up and said he would be right with us. But then another 10 minutes went by and nothing. Finally almost an hour after we had arrived we gave up and left. And no one noticed. The hosts up front ignored us as we walked out. Didn't offer to hold the door or ask us how everything was or tell us to have a good night. It was very confusing because half the restaurant was full and the rest was all empty and dirty tables. In summation: 4 Stars. Came to this location on Monday afternoon (3:30pm) for a late lunch after a movie with my friend. The restaurant wasn't busy at the time we arrived. We were sat at a table immediately. The restaurant was nice and cool inside. A big relief from the 100F degree heat of late. The waitress arrived in less than 5 minutes and took our drink order. Brought the drinks quickly and took our orders. My friend had the chicken tenders with French fries. I had the Fiesta Lime Chicken with rice. Overall both entrees were good and tasty. However, the chicken tenders could have been made with less batter. The French fries were good. The Chicken of the Fiesta Lime was tender, juicy and delicious. The rice that came with the Fiesta Lime Chicken was very dry. I couldn't eat it. Waved the waitress to come over. Asked her if I could substitute something else for the dry rice. She was very helpful in suggesting alternative sides: fries, mashed potatoes, or steamed veggies. I chose the fries. It came out almost immediately hot and delicious (only complaint is that it had a bit too much salt). After the meal, the waitress asked if we wanted desserts. We declined. We were full. Paying for the check was very convenient by using the tablet on the table. Overall, the restaurant staff were friendly, the restaurant was clean and well laid out.
