It's sad you order a sandwich the way you want it. It clearly states it on receipt. But you still make it wrong and leave items off. I attempt to inquire about the discrepancy. The server reads my receipt sees I have no Swiss cheese on the burger. And goes to the back and brings me a cold piece of Swiss cheese to take home and warm over my burger. Family came in from out of town and we mentioned Applebees and you should have seen their faces light up. Always a great experience Jacob sat us quickly and Kendra was at the table to greet us just as soon as we got settled.... We got to meet the GM Dave, told him his whole crew was pretty spectacular.... The most magical phrase in history, up there with "here is an upgrade to first class" "We have DOLLAR margaritas tonight" Just rest on that statement for a moment... Honestly, I'm not sure who runs this store but they should consider resigning or giving that position up. I placed an order online for curbside pickup. When I arrived several vehicles were waiting for their food and nobody came outside for at least 10 minutes. When the worker came outside they had someone's order but neglected to ask others waiting if they had been helped! Not to mention when I went inside to grab my order after failing to be compensated on curbside pickup... there was not a soul standing at the ordering kiosk. I called to see if I could speak with a manager but the phone kept ringing and making me wait. Completely pathetic excuse of a restaurant and business establishment. As usual the Bartender was excellent, they had our drinks in front of us in less than a minute. The food was hot and good. Our experience was great as usual. Con: A customer came in with his friend and sat beside us. He was sniffing tobacco and had his spit cup out in the open and was spitting in it every few minutes. This was very disgusting while we were trying to eat our lunch. The employees had to see the spit cup because they came up to the customer and said hi. One employee was talking to the customer while they were spitting in the cup. I thought Applebee's was a tobacco free restaurant. read more

Well, congratulations...I have to say our experience yesterday was a first. With over 50 years of experience in the restaurant business between my wife and myself, neither of us have ever sat at a table for 25 minutes without being acknowledged. I now currently work with many restaurants, both Corporate and mom and pop and I can promise you, this story will be spread far and wide. We were sat at a booth near the bar at at 4:35, we left promptly at 5:00. No order, no water, no hello, no nothing. Passed by several times without a glance, (2) Bartenders, at least (3) Waitstaff personnel on the floor (maybe 2 tables apiece), (1) Hostess (on her phone) and 5-6 Waitstaff personnel within 20 feet giggling and BS'ing amongst themselves. We did flag down a passer by who said she would get us some water, after 5 more minutes, we left. Now I understand the Corporate waitstaff is not the top of the line, but what I do know through experience is Corporate run restaurants have (OR HAD) a pretty decent training schedule for new hires. What happened to us is unacceptable and Appleby's should be embarrassed. Most folks save their money and look forward to eating out one time per week if they're lucky. Either change your training or clean house, your customers are there to spend money and should be treated as such, they should NOT feel as if they are intruding. read more

Applebee's isn't my favorite place to eat, but after going to see an almost 3 hr. movie in Simpsonville, the pickings were slim at 10:30pm. We started at IHOP, at 645 Fairview Rd. I looked on my trusty Yelp app and they have a 1 1/2 star rating, this was a no go. After seeing that we left and ended up at Applebee's. It wasn't that crowded, but there was a decent size crowd, we were seated as soon as we came in. The lighting in this Applebee's could be much better. It was a little to dark for me. I had the four cheese mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken tenders. The pasta in this dish is never cooked as done as I like it, I ate a little of the pasta and the three tenders that were placed on the top of the dish were ok. I'll stick with chicken tenders and fries from now on. The service was good and the companionship with my movie partners was a lot of fun. read more

If Im in an area with little choices, i'll pick Applebees usually because I like the bar and grew up on the rib basket for years. This was mid day, pretty much nobody there so got to he bar to order a beer and set he new menu. The staff was a bit inattentive...hovering a bit around the kitchen, chatting- so took a minute for my bartender to come over and get me a beer .Decided on a new item- salmon-- side salad, had another beer. The place was a typical Applebees, but just didn't see any passion from anyone working there to help people. I was fine sitting and not in a hurry, but if I was , I would have had issues. The salmon and salad came and were quite good. I nursed my beer and water and took my time eating and got the bill and took off. Albeit the staff was "nice", they weren't good servers so taking 2 points for training and hiring the right people . Could be where we were, time of day, but just perk up a bit and make those that come feel welcome, get them fed and set up then go chat and gossip in the corner. Otherwise- food didn't fail me as I started. Will get the salmon again probably in some other part of the country but still a 90s fan of Applebees and always will be!! read more

Horrible service at the bar today! She waited way too long to get our drink order, had to ASK For the bar to be cleared and cleaned. Had to beg for silverware and steak sauce. She moved slow as molasses and was more interested in chatting with two guys at the bar than waiting on anybody else. We have been here several times & not a a bad experience but tonight wasn't the best. Wait time was 25 mins, not too bad considering how busy it was. Our waitress told my husband it wasn't a good idea to order the all you can eat riblets because of how busy they were. Then my cup that my tea was in had black stuff all over the outside. My husband got his bourbon chicken & shrimp plate and it was missing the potatoes. My Parmesan ship & steak was perfect along with our daughter's rib meal. The manager, Doyle, was hands down great at making things right. He gave my husband an extra bourbon chicken & shrimp plate (with potatoes) to go for free & a dessert to apologize for the dirty cup, that our daughter enjoyed. This restaurant in my opinion has very slow service. Waited for almost 10 min for an order to be taken, about thirty minutes for food while we watched people who came in after us get their food before us and the joint was not even busy. My meal pictured did not have much flavor. Even when finished with meal server took my plates while the other person in the party finished eating. When both of us were finished we waited for about 10 - 15 minutes just for the bill. It is no wonder Applebee's is struggling with service and food like this. I will not ever go back as I feel that there is much better for the hard earned money that I had to pay them. The manager came and apologized for the delay and said she adjusted the bill. Terrible service and the servers are THIEFS - I left a $6 tip on my credit card and checked my bank account statement to see I was actually charged $20 for the tip! My experience last Friday was pretty terrible. I don't expect much from an Applebees, just decent service and food that doesn't make me gag. Oh our server...it took so long for him to come to our table that I almost told my husband that I wanted to leave for a different restaurant. Finally he greets us, and one of the first things he does is complain to us about his other job. We order. I went there because I really wanted riblets. I hadn't had them in a few years and they have always been my favorite. It should have been a clue when our food came out almost as quickly as the order went in. The first thing I noticed was that the riblets were scalding hot. They were also tough, had a foul odor, and had a microwaved taste. My husband could see them across the table. We flag down the waiter and he seems very annoyed and doesn't ask what the problem is, just "what else do you want?" I just decide to play it safe and order chicken fingers. Again my food came out as fast as the order was put in. The fingers were lukewarm and the fries were cold. I just ate it anyway. I expected at some point for a manager to come by, ask how we were doing or apologize for the terrible food. It never happened. I rarely complain and typically like most dining experiences, but that was bad. read more
