Sports break is a mix of a whole bunch of themes, the waitresses wear tight shorty shorts. Sports is a theme there, and they seem to support the local school sporting teams. There were also several tv's with different programs on. The location is odd. You either access the restaurant via a side street or drive an awfully long way through a parking lot. The parking lot may look full, but there were open tables on a Monday night at dinner time. The food was good. Not amazing, but not terrible. Sitting at the Sports Break in Greenwood - a couple of long black hairs in my step-son's chicken wings. Not like they were leftover from being de-feathered. Obviously, most of you know, I was in the food industry for a long time. I'm not a dick. We complained. They did replace the meal and then charged us for it. When I complained the manager let me know that they would take it off the bill but that I would never be served again. I attended this establishment on 04/29 around 10 pm. I sat at the bar with a friend and I'm not sure if the bar tender had something going on but she was OBSCENELY rude. She approached us by saying "what do you need." And immediately handed us our checks when they close at 11 pm. It was 10:08. Staff super friendly. Nice looking place. I had my service dog and the manager came outside and politely asked me if she was a service animal and what function she performed for me(the two questions under Ada laws they can ask). We had a nice chat and he shook my hand and thanked me for my service. Food was great and I'll be back simply because they were accommodating and didn't hassle me for bringing a dog in. So..........I walk into Sport Break to meet a friend for lunch today. I greet the hostess and I request a table near the door (there were a couple available) so I could see my friend when he arrived (also I didn't want to mention but I have a painful sprained ankle and didn't want to walk any farther than I had to). For the first time in my 65 years dining out at restaurants, this request to sit where I wanted to was denied. Accommodating a customer's simple request for a table close to the door was too much to ask. The more important priority was getting the tables divided evenly between waitresses. I walked out. The hostess simply smiled and said "have a good day". I steamed a bit outside and went back in and caught the manager on duty and told him I needed a table close to the door. This time I told him about my ankle and he said (paraphrasing), "Since that's the case, we'll accommodate your request." I sat there at the table a few minutes and it just bothered me more and more as I thought about it, that I had to use a temporary disability just to be allowed to sit at a specific table that was readily available. I understand trying to even out the workload for waitresses; it's not a difficult thing to do since most people don't mind and will sit anywhere but on the occasion that a customer wants to sit somewhere (a table, by the way, that was just cleared and cleaned from the last customers so it's not like it was out of the way or not being used regularly that day), I don't think it's too big of an ask to honor that request. In the hundreds of restaurants I've eaten in over my 65 years, although I haven't requested it often, it hasn't been once. Apparently, for Sports Break, it is. I'm done with them. read more

My father and I went here for a nice lunch. I got the fried pickles and wings. I got 12- flying pig and garlic parmesan... they were fantastic! The service was quick and friendly and I like the ambiance of the place and how big it was. They took precautions regarding COVID by having all employees wear masks and gloves. This sports bar is located off a main road in Greenwood, SC. The original restaurant burned down a few years ago so the restaurant is all new. It has off street parking and a full bar with draught beer (+1). When you walk in, to the right is a U shaped bar with a large screen TV against the back wall, probably the best layout for a bar with TV. There are also TVs along the wall. They have booths and tables with both inside and outside covered dining areas. The outside area has another bar along with a pool table and small putting area... kind of unique. Inside has a stage in one corner along with a small dance floor. I had been here before when the "Swinging Medallions" played (for you young folks, they wrote "double shot of my baby's love.") Note: never know where the parentheses go at the end of the sentence, before or after the period. :-) They also have pool tables in the back corner and I think darts. It is very well laid out because the dining area is appropriately separated from pool table inside. OK now the food. Typical bar food and I had the sampler; two types of potato skins, baby corn dogs, and spicy rolls (and they were). The potato skins were great but the miniature corn dogs were over cooked but OK. The beer was great - had the Octoberfest. My guest had a BLT with onion rings. It was very good and they gave you so much food you have to take some home. I have to give it a 5, which I don't do much. But for a sports bar, it was top of the line. I have nothing against lander but as soon as I told him about my drink he explained to me about the doors and how they come in ( which I understand) but immediately asked the rest of the table about lander.!!! Sports break is a (surprise!!) sports bar. Plenty of TVs everywhere, good wings, full bar. They also have some arcade games and a couple pool tables in one corner. The food is good but not mind-blowing. They have a 2 for 1 wing night during the week which is a good deal. (I think it's Tuesdays but call and check before you go). The pimento cheese burger is wonderful. They have fried potato skins with pulled pork which is also really good. The service is typically good. Last time I went the drinks kept getting low and no one filled it up. I asked for a to-go cup and never got it. Not a huge deal but somewhat frustrating. My only other complaint is the lack of beer to choose from on tap. Your regular American pilsners/light beers and maybe two craft brews. With all the craft breweries an hour away in Greenville or Columbia I think there should be a better selection. read more

Just ate here for the first time. Tried 4 different flavors of wings & they were so good, I barely used any dressing! Rode the perfect line between crispy/well but still juicy! (Cactus, lemon pepper, spicy teriyaki, & garlic Parmesan) . Got a basket of half & half & the onion rings were crisp & not at all greasy. My little one enjoyed the chicken fingers & fries however I thought their honey mustard was overly mustardy. My husband & I also got salads but didn't much care for them. Nothing was bad about them, we just must've not been in the mood for salad. In addition to good food, we also experienced great service! Very attentive & we didn't want for a thing! I have been harassed by the bouncer here on TWO separate occasions. I am 22 years old and on the first occasion was accused of having a fake ID. and threatened w being kicked out when a old woman attempted to pick a fight w ME. The second occasion I didn't want to pay the $5 cover charge so I left. I did make a comment but it wasn't to anyone specific. I was then followed out of the bar by the bouncer who started to cuss me out and call me names including the "c" word. Sports Break wasn't on our radar until a few months ago, but we're fans now! They have the best BBQ sandwich around - and great burgers. Two can eat for about $20. The "Break Plate Special" is always good, too! We don't always get the best service (last night we had to wait a while for the check and then wait even longer to get the server to pick it up), but everyone is really friendly. We'll still come back. Don't let the full parking lot make you think there's a long wait. This place is BIG and there are lots of tables. The hubby and I wanted to get away for a little bit and stopped in here. They were carding at 7 pm. We were told we could sit anywhere (since it wasn't full) and every seat has a view of at least 2 TVs. The alcohol selection is very limited, and their food menu was large. I had a hard time deciding what to order. Our server was patient with us. She had to go ask the bartender if they had certain types of alcohol. First off they did not put any utensils or napkins with the order.Nothing worse than getting back to hotel room and finding they did not put them in bag.
