Located in a busy residential plaza, this Applebee's was super busy. We were seated right away at 8pm. Ambiance is nice. Very clean. Booths, tables and bar area were all available for dining. It appears there's two happy hours, 2p-5p and 9p- close for half price apps and all day drinks. Very family friendly, affordable American fare. The kids meals are $7.29, includes an entree, side and drink. The boneless buffalo wings and double crunch shrimp are delicious. Riblets don't have much meat and what's there was really dried and basted in sauce but the sauce didn't save it. It's loud and there's televisions with sports on so it was a tad difficult to have an easy conversation at the table. Server was forgetful but very nice. We're good n the area for the weekend and would probably return for a quick meal. read more

I get it's an Applebees in a college town but jeez. Don't order a drink if you're over 21 but have an out of state license, they'll make a scene about how they think the ID is fake without any actual way of checking. Aside from this, food is about as average as you can get. Definitely worth driving the extra couple miles to Mews instead. read more

Dang right I'm giving 5 stars for Applebees! We actually had plans to go to one of the other restaurants in this area, but the wait was too long. We were seated immediately here. We shared a bunch of apps, all of which came out at a reasonable time and were good (pretzels, chips and dip, buffalo wings, loaded fries). Our waitress was awesome and quick with any accommodations. Looks like a lot of URI kids probably come here, but that's neither here not there. We had a great experience in both service and food, so this was a good option B for us! read more

Time to show some love to this Applebee's. The outdated 1 star reviews should be expired. Their classic bacon cheeseburger, fries, and good ol' Busch beer was a home run. My wifey got the grilled chicken and Cole slaw. We tasted that crisp crunch from the slaw. 5 star also goes to my waitress. Solid work for checking in on us. Went here with my dad for a drink and some appetizers. We sat in the bar area which was clean and had plenty of space, we there was only one other customer at the time. The bartender greeted us with menus and took our drink order, she was friendly and polite our entire stay. We were well taken care of and had an excellent time! Ordered Salmon and shrimp dinner. The Salmon was barely cooked. I started eating the rest of the meal until the waitress came back. When I showed her the Salmon , she took the whole half finished meal and said it would be corrected. At that point I asked if it could just be done to go. The manager apologized and the brought back a to go bag and took the meal off the order. After getting back home I realized all that was in the bag was the same piece of Salmon now cooked and nothing else. Definitely, not the best experience I have had. read more

Wordens pond ladies go to lunch once a month and the food is delicious and the service is amazing. My review is more about how dedicated the staff and managers are. I forgot my folder that has all my information, they put it aside and this is the funny part. One of the staff accidentally picked it up with their stuff and brought it home. Manager and staff hunted it down by calling all the employees and I was going to pick up the next day. The person forgot it, I can understand as I forget all the time. Then a friend was going to bring it in, again no folder but they kept after it and called me saying they have it in the safe. I called today as I thought they opened at 10, they open at 11 and a staff member told me to stay in my car as it was pouring and ran it out to me. I called it the traveling folder. I usually think the take out here is decent, and I assume because they are a chain that they have a nearly infallible system of time and temperature when cooking things. I was finished with a 14 hour shift and due to covid I had to order take out. I was starving and craving a steak so badly. I ordered the ribeye medium rare and when I got home, with plenty of time for carryover heat to continue the cooking process I cut into an almost completely raw steak. I'd like to say it was rarer than a Hornace Wagner rookie card but that would acknowledge the steak was rare, and indeed, and unfortunately it was raw. read more

Solid Applebee's experience. Went in for apps (obviously) and had multiple deals occurring. Happy hour had half price on most apps until 5pm. Additionally the 25-cent boneless wings were a nice treat as well. Food was as expected. Nothing above or below the usual expectations. Service was friendly but a tad slow. Picked up a to go order tonight and used the $20 gift card we were sent from 2 weeks ago when they served my husband cold, frozen shrimp in his wonton stir fry. Ordered boneless wings tonight and a buffalo chicken sandwich with lettuce and drove 15 minutes home. Open my sandwich and immediately see rotting, disgusting lettuce on my sandwich. The lettuce was yellow and brown and smelled so bad. Clearly it had gone bad but whoever works in the kitchen is clearly an idiot and still decided to put it on my sandwich. Clearly the kitchen staff has no problem serving not only frozen shrimp but also spoiled lettuce that could have made me extremely sick had I not noticed. Meh indeed. The bartender was very nice, the atmosphere (while pretty bright) was nice. The drinks were okay. But the food was awful, the chicken on my Oriental Chicken Salad was rubbery and I left most of it on the plate. My partner's Lime Chicken was pretty dreadful too. We've been very satisfied, loyal Applebees fans for years but our experience on Nov 9,2019 has really sealed the deal. After a long day flying from Dallas to Providence, we stopped off at the South County Commons Applebees, in South Kingstown, RI, for dinner before we headed home. Olivia was our waitress and she was excellent! Great meal, service and we bought a $50 gift card with the $10 bonus. The next morning everything was fine until my wife went to get her purse and it was nowhere to be found. We remembered we had last been to Applebees so we drove over to see if anyone was there at 9:45 am even though they only opened at 1100 am. My wife got the attention of the early crew, but they said the manager had just left but would be back soon. We waited in the parking lot for the manager, and when he returned, we asked about the lost and found. The manager asked my wife if her name was Gail & he let us know he had just been to our house to return the purse but no one was home--we had just missed each other. Needless to say, we were relieved and very impressed. First, someone on the staff found the purse, with over $300 in cash plus all the credit cards and ID that would take weeks to replace, and kept it safe overnight. Then the manager cared enough to track my wife down (we now will put her phone number prominently in the purse) and attempt to personally return the purse. He had seen her military ID and invited us back for Monday, veterans' day for a complimentary meal. The entire encounter made us feel that Applebees was a caring, competent, and honest organization that we are proud to frequent. BTW our steak and salmon dinners were excellent! Don't discount them because they are a "chain." Give them a try! read more

Curbside Delivery. I won't ever order this way again. The food was disgusting. The shrimp, flat pancakes at least weren't greasy. The fries were. The steamed riblets resembled formed dogfood on bones. Can they do that? At least drown them in the BBQ sauce. And what was that BBQ sauce? It wasn't the Honey BBQ that I ordered. And the ribs were almost dry. The boneless wings were mealy little breaded plops that had no hot sauce on them what-so-ever. And no blue cheese dressing, I got ranch instead. 3 celery sticks. Its applebees, what do you expect? (For the bad reviews below). I have been stationed all over the US and every Applebees is the same. The only difference is the high schools they represent. I like this Applebees because it is walking distance from my residence. Today is friday and i wanted a drink. I dont drink and drive so this was perfect! The staff is cool. The beer was cold. The food is the same wherever. You really shouldnt expect it to be a 4 or 5 star spot. One of my favorite phrases is, "you get what you pay for". I respect all opinions but its Applebees. Lol this is the place where you would take dates to in high school and even in college. Which this area caters too....and of course families. I am here at 7pm and there are alot of young college students and families. It serves its purpose people. Oh and the food is decent. Lol read more

So typically I try not to write reviews of big chains, unless its something that really would be useful (like, if you can avoid the CVS on this corner and go to the next one 3 blocks away) But I have to say, while there aren't a ton of options down in this area, STAY AWAY. First off, there was like a 45 minute wait. Next, drinks (non alcoholic, mind you) took forever and came out in 3 rounds. The one person in our party who asked for an Angry Orchard was told they didn't have any, the coke she asked for in its place never came. Then, surprise surprise, when the bill came we were charged for an Angry Orchard and a Coke!!! After placing food orders (all sandwiches and salads) it took over an hour to come out, and one of our friends was not brought her sandwich until a good 15 minutes after the rest of us, and after we asked several separate servers to inquire about its whereabouts. To the server's credit, she totally forgot to add the gratuity for a party of 6, and earned herself a nice almost 10% tip. Started off our order with spinach and artichoke appetizer, which comes in a little creme brulee style dish to hold the dip - which was seriously only 40% full. My sister had to run to a movie nearby quickly, so ordered a side ceasar salad. There was honestly more chicken than there was lettuce.
