On our way to a play at Theatre by the Sea and we needed a dinner spot. A neighbor recommended this spot to us and we are grateful because it was delish! We had reservations and they were out on their lovely covered porch. The wait staff was both friendly and kind. We had pasta dishes. Servings are generous. They came quickly with ice water and bread while we decided what to order. Our waitress even put a clam shell container full of ice in our bag of leftover containers. We will be back. We came here for dinner and our table, booked via Open Table was ready as soon as we walked in. They offered us a table inside, but we asked if we could get a table outside and they said Yes. The complementary bread was warm and delicious...it came with a nice olive oil dip. We got two glasses of the Simi Valley Cab and they were delicious and robust. Great choice for a red wine. I ordered the clam spaghetti and my husband got the Chicken Rossini. The pasta was very salty...probably the saltiest dish I have had in years...I did not send it back, I just downed two full glasses of water with my meal. My husband's chicken dish was large and good tasting, but also a bit salty...not as much as my pasta dish, but salty. It's easy to add a bit of salt to a dish, but it's really hard to take it out. Based on how salty the food was, I would not be coming back here anytime soon. read more

This has been my favorite south county restaurant for a date night for many years now. Their food is always delicious and their specials are amazing. We usually order a special because they're so good. I wish they would bring back the pumpkin ravioli app in the fall (they had this a few seasons back and did it bring it back after but it was my favorite dish they served there besides the short rib ravioli special). The short rib ravioli special is AMAZING. We also love their strawberry romana dessert. Their drinks are always good. I enjoyed a cocktail and we watched some baseball over the bar from our table. Nice atmosphere, with an upscale feel. My lasagne was complex and flavorful but a little too salty. We had the opportunity to visit the Trattoria last evening. There were four in our group. The interior was easy to access and the ambiance very nice. Our table was adjacent to the bar which can be noisy. This was not even though the bar was full. Once seated we were treated to fresh crusted bread accompanied by oil and red wine vinegar for dipping. Yummy Our server was Jenna who explained the (large) menu, specials and took good care of us throughout. Well done Jenna. We skipped the appetizer and salad options and went straight away to the entrees. Our guests ordered Chicken Francese ($26.95) and Veal Saltimbocca ($29.95). Both reported as delicious and tender. My companion ordered Chicken Sorrentino consisting two chicken breasts, eggplant, mushrooms, Prosciutto, mozzarella in marinara sauce over capellini ($26.95). It was reported as very tasty. I ordered the Chicken Marsala. Two chicken breasts with mushrooms in a Marsala wine demi glaze over capellini ($26.95). Very good. I would be remiss if I did not mention the portions are large. Food was fantastic! Service friendly and attentive. Prices seemed reasonable, but then I'm used to West Coast crazy-high cost-of-living prices. I had one of the specials, an angel hair pasta with mussels, calamari, shrimp with a tomato sauce. So good, and servings were large enough that I got to enjoy it again at lunch the next day. Everything from start to finish was amazing! Our server Kristie was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable and so professional. All of our food and drinks were fabulous. We had house salads and a Caesar salad to start. Four different entrees, veal, chicken, seafood and pizza, huge portions, enough for two or three meals. All of the food was cooked perfectly. We were never rushed, Kristie checked in with us frequently and gave us plenty of time in between courses. We did not order dessert as we were too full. I highly recommend Trattoria Romana. Trattoria Romana in Wakefield has become our favorite restaurant. The ambience is excellent the food always of great quality and the entire staff is friendly, making us feel like part of the Trattoria family, and very professional. I have been there several times over the last two or three years, (as often as 2-3 times a week or at least once a week) and have never been disappointed in the food, the service or the hospitality. I had the best meal here a few days ago but each time I've been here it's been fantastic! Service is very quick and servers are friendly. The ambiance is cute for a small Italian restaurant- I especially like how I can see a little bit of the kitchen- you can tell they are hard working here! Most recently I have to give a big shout out to my server I was in between meals and she suggested I get the pollo saltimbocca alla Romano. I am always a bit hesitant to order any Marsala sauce out as it could end up being too sweet but this was not the case- this meal was so good! It has two decent sized pieces of chicken with mozzarella and prosciutto on top. The Marsala sauce and fresh sage were amazing. Not only that but this was all on top of papparadelle pasta- so good!! I cannot wait to come back here and order this exact meal. I might even try to recreate it at home but I doubt it'll be as good as theirs! Definitely check this place out! read more

Food always excellent atmosphere excellent but today Sunday 630 pm whoever the girl bar, terrible service. She had a bad attitude didn't care miserable not happy. I go there at least twice a week however, will never go on Sunday again,. I ordered my food and immediately said give me a box. I'm taking it with me. I'm writing this review as I'm sitting at home at my table eating the takeout that I've should've been enjoying there with some dessert and after dinner drink but she ruined my weekend wind down. 3 years ago I asked to speak with the manager as I spotted " Tilapia " on the menu of this upscale establishment for $30 bucks! I explained to the manager that this is a fishing town and people won't pay $30 for non-ocean, trash fish, akin to Catfish. He apparently hasn't listened and is still trying to scam people into buying Tilapia, which is a fish raised in ponds, swimming in it's own fecal matter. It's a lower quality fish than Catfish but the management is hoping you don't notice. read more

Went here for a birthday party and was impressed with the delicious food! I got veal parm and was pleasantly surprised that you could order both gluten free pasta and gluten free breadcrumbs (for a fee). The drinks were also great, I got a boozey lime rickey and they definitely did not skimp on the booze! We were able to bring our own cake and they cut and served it for us. My advice is to arrive early, by 5:30 the dining room was packed! read more

Perfect... did not feel rushed or not attended to.. just right. We had the fried calamari, lightly fried and it was spot on, super tender and delicious. For dinner, we had the GAMBERI TOSCANA, and FRUITTI DI MARE POSILIPO. Both excellent. I was especially impressed with the tomato sauce in the Fruitti dish- very fresh tomatoes, bright red. Excellent. One of the highlights to our annual trip to Narragansett is a visit to Trattoria Romana South. This visit did not disappoint. I ordered the Vitello alla Sorrentino which was a delicious blend of eggplant, veal and mushrooms topped with mozzarella cheese. It was served over a bed of capellini. My husband enjoyed his chicken which was served over risotto and stuffed with mushrooms and a sage sauce. My friend happily finished my blood orange martini as it proved to potent for me.I should have stuck to my lemon drop. Our waitress was very helpful in her suggestions and checked in on us frequently . We sat outside on front porch as the inside had the air on high. My only complaint was the chocolate gelato was $10..a little steep for ice cream ... overall, a delightful meal. I can't wait to return read more

The olive oil dip with fresh bread was a nice start... the bucatini was a little overcooked but not a big deal, the Amatriciana sauce was good. Love this place. Located in beautiful South County Commons. The place is so cozy and warm and nicely decorated. The hostess was extremely pleasant, welcoming and personable. The food was amazing. To whom it may concern, I recently had reservations at your Narragansett Restaurant and was very disappointed in your maitre'd/hostess staff. She was extremely nasty after being ten minutes late to my reservation. She indicated that we just had an hour and a half for our table. It was a birthday celebration for a good friend and she very unprofessional. The waitress came over right as we sat down to take our order without us even getting water yet. We hadn't even received the menu at the time. The woman hostess came over to tell us that we had to be out because of other reservations, I explained I had been to many of your establishments and never had this problem. She proceeded to tell us that we could sit out on the patio without having to leave. We did have dinner on the patio which was fine. However, when reservations are made this should never happen that you are rushed out after dinner for another reservation, I have never had this problem anywhere in Rhode Island Restaurants or outside of RI. This restaurant is amazing! Food was OUTSTANDING. Could not ask for better service or better food, the dining experience overall was something you don't get very often these days. We had a reservation and the staff promptly showed us to our table and the waiter immediately came over. The specials sounded delicious but I ended up choosing the Bolognase because it sounded too good! The food came out so quickly and was still steaming hot by the time I was done eating!! The bread was wonderful being nice and soft on the inside and a nice crisp crust on the outside. Make sure you dip it in the olive oil which just makes it absolutely superb. I believe our waitresses name was Montana and she was an absolute delight making sure nothing went unnoticed on our table. Amazing restaurant, amazing service, amazing food. Here we are. It's 2022 and we're amidst a terrible time in the nation. We have shortages on gasoline, baby formula and now, thanks to TratRomSo - a shortage on flavor. In my head, I picture a movie scene. A group of 5 or 6 well trained, elite ops agents hijack the only garlic truck on the way to this place. Spoiler Alert: they steal all the spices and hold the President hostage for an hour and a half in a stuffy hot dining room. What was supposed to be an authentic Italian dinner - was turned into "Olive Garden: With a Vengeance". Food had absolutely no flavor to it - to almost an offensive degree. Service was decent and the place was clean but I've had better Italian food at a S'barros in an airport. Maybe it was an off night, or perhaps I'm being too critical when paying $30 for a plate of over cooked and under seasoned pasta. read more

Drove over an hour to try this location and it was worth it. Our reservation was honored and seated early. The hostess had greeted us quickly and genuinely, with a smile. We had waters fast and our server was fluent with both the menu and the specials. Though busy, we never saw her without a smile. She stayed on point from drinks to app to dinner to coffee. The food was hot when appropriate and tasty. When we were ready to leave, we were checked out quickly and thanked upon our departure. Both the women's and men's rooms were clean and well stocked.
