    Clam chowda and clam cakes
    Cara M.

Loved the clam chowda. The clam cakes were mostly breading so I took a star off. Service was good. There was only one person tending bar and waitressing. The only suggestion is to be greeted or a sign that tells you to seat yourself/wait to be seated

Our family had lunch here on a Friday afternoon. I ordered the cup of chowder with two clam cakes which I have never had before. The chowder was good and had a lot of clams. I did enjoy the clam cake. It was like a hush puppy with chopped up clams. The dipping tarter sauce was very tasty. My wife got the garlic Parmesan wings that she enjoyed. The rest of the table got fish and chips, fish sandwich, and burger. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Best thing was an ice cold Narragansett draft that I have not had in a while. Overall a pretty good lunch spot.

    Chicken sandwich & fries

My boyfriend and I stopped in for our first time a couple weeks ago. The menu had a few selections that caught my eye but being by the water, I chose to try their fish tacos. I was happy with my choice because they were some of the best I've ever had. They were so flavorful and was loaded with fresh fish, lightly battered. I didn't have the chicken sandwich but it's my boyfriend's go to meal so he has tried many chicken sandwiches he enjoyed his meal as well. We don't drink but I noticed they have a good beer selection (both on tap & bottle).

My wife and I just happened to stop into this café today because honestly I wanted to use the restroom and I didn't want to just go in and not buy anything!... So we sat at the bar and ordered a couple of sodas and these clam cakes. I thought they were just gonna be six little tiny clam cakes that would take me about two minutes to eat, oh, how I was surprised!... These clam cakes were huge and came with a tartar sauce, dipping sauce, and it was basically a lunch meal for us! They were so good and if I go back to Jamestown Rhode Island again, I'm definitely gonna stop in and get these again. They were that good! Our server/bartender was excellent, and the price point was spot on. I highly recommend you stop in and try these clam cakes!

The setting is hard to beat--right on the water--and if you're lucky enough to score a window table, the views make the evening even more enjoyable. Service was friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the meal. We started with the summer burrata appetizer for two, which the kitchen thoughtfully split onto separate plates, a nice touch that was appreciated. For entrees, our table ordered the fish and chips, the fig and prosciutto burger, the fish of the day, and the lobster roll (hot). Everyone was very pleased with their meals, and there wasn't a single complaint at the table. Good food, excellent service, and a beautiful waterfront location make JB's an easy recommendation. We'll definitely be back.

From the moment we arrived, everything just felt easy. Parking was simple, and the waterfront view set the tone right away. It's one of those places where you can actually relax and enjoy the atmosphere without any hassle. The service really stood out: fast, attentive, and genuinely friendly without feeling rushed. You can tell they have a solid system down, which makes a big difference when you're hungry and ready to enjoy your meal. The drinks were decent but nothing over-the-top, still enjoyable and well made. Where this place really shines is the food. Portions were generous, and everything we tried was flavorful and satisfying. You definitely won't leave hungry. The only small letdown was the lobster portion in the crab cakes appetizer. For $32, we expected a bit more, but it ended up being a small, slightly rubbery claw. Just the one detail that didn't quite match the rest of the experience. Overall, this spot delivers where it counted. They had great service, beautiful views, and delicious, filling food. We'd absolutely come back and recommend it for a laid-back meal by the water.

But Beech in Jamestown had me pulling out my phone faster than I pull out my wallet at the end of a great meal. We showed up early like the eager, slightly-too-hungry couple we are. Did they make us wait awkwardly by the hostess stand? Absolutely not. They swept us into a bright, window-wrapped room so cheerful it practically hugged us. Turns out they'd lost power earlier that day. LOST POWER. You wouldn't have known it. These people were cooler than the other side of the pillow. Now. The food. Oh, the FOOD. I got the steak with puréed pomme, asparagus, and carrots, and I need you to understand -- this thing had a sear on it that made me want to stand up and applaud. The sauce? Somebody's grandmother's secret recipe dipped in liquid gold. It melted in my mouth so fast I briefly forgot my own name. My wife had to remind me we were in public. Speaking of my wife -- she ordered the Tortellacci. Stuffed pasta, porcini mushrooms, ricotta, limoncello cream sauce, white truffle shavings. She took one bite and just stared at me. No words. Just stared. That's how you know it was BANANAS. In the best possible way. The rolls came out hot and fresh, which is honestly its own love language. Our water and bread gal? Sunshine in human form. Smiling, attentive, welcoming -- the kind of person who makes you feel like a guest, not a table number. Our waitress treated us like family, which for two people on date night is exactly the vibe you need. Beech, you had us at the bread. You kept us at the steak. We'll be back on this island, and you will absolutely see our faces again. 10/10. No notes. Just compliments.

We arrived a little early for our 4:00 p.m. reservation, and the place was already packed. While we waited by the bar, a very nice waitress took our drink order--a lemon drop martini, beautifully crafted, well-balanced, and pleasantly strong. We were seated shortly after and, of course, ordered another. (Both times, I took several sips before remembering to take a photo!) Our waitress, Mikela, was truly lovely--sincere, sweet, and very courteous. She was attentive throughout the meal without ever being intrusive, which made the experience feel relaxed and effortless. At the end, I told her I wished I could give her 6 stars, but Yelp only allows 5. For dinner, we both ordered the seared rare ahi tuna steak. I had mine with garlic bread, while my husband chose mashed potatoes. I also added the $9.95 salad buffet, which is such a great deal--you definitely won't leave hungry. I especially love their buffet-style salad bar, which offers nearly every option one could want. Both of our ahi tuna steaks were fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Once again, I dug into my tuna before remembering to take a photo! We finished the meal with a cheesecake to share--another delicious ending to a wonderful dinner. We're already planning our next visit--there are still so many dishes and drinks we'd love to try.

Complimentary valet parking available along with street parking. Once we got there we were directed to the outside tent seatings. Once we got seated we looked at the menu and placed order for some drinks and appetizers. We got some oysters and prime rib cheese egg rolls. They were both delicious. Oysters were fresh. I got a non alcoholic drink the country road which was fruity and refreshing. I ended up getting lobster mac and cheese. Lots of lobster meat and cheesy macaronis with bread crumb was tasty. Service was excellent and waiter was very attentive and came to check in multiple times. Overall it's a nice spot for nicer meal. Price is on the higher side but food was pretty good. Outside seating was $100 per group and for 3 hours so not too bad. Downside was that ventilation was poor so it was pretty hot inside and only way to cool down was to keep the door propped open but it was windy day so door kept banging and the next group was doing the same thing. Probably a good idea to put a window on the door or something. Some of the tables were also pretty wobbly which was a but annoying.
