Most places aren't open as late as Applebee's in Spokane; the kitchen is open really late and that's a big bonus, especially if you work late. On the downside, the food is really inconsistent, and often way too salty. The food ranges from good to barely edible, depending on the night. Applebees is a pretty consistent place to eat. We enjoy their food as it's always tasty and cooked well. Service at this location is very good. Everyone me always seems to be friendly and keep up on things. When you put empty straw paper wrappers or empty plates on the end of the table, they always seem to disappear. Not necessarily the person waiting your table, just an employee that see's it. This doesn't happen all that often these days at other places as everyone is so silo'd in what their job function is. Good on Applebees for this kind of 'help each other 'ideal. Our waiter was Gary and he is soft spoken, and very good at what he does. Timing is everything and he always nails it from giving time to decide on dishes, to refills on drinks. Yes, we'll be back. read more

This review is for the Applebee's at 9634 N. Newport Highway in Spokane, WA. We go there about twice a month. Depending on the time of day, it can be quite busy. They have a very reasonably priced (compared to the competition) lunch special (different for each day of the week), and often have evening specials. They get busiest after about 5:00 p.m. and when offering a lot of other specials. Some of their specials include 2-3 different burgers ("smash-style") and those are very, very good, at a fair price. Beats the heck out of the "fast food" competitors' products. Service is about average (I have no complaints about it). My greatest concern is NOT about the quality or the prices, it is about our State's interference with businesses like this, due to taxes and wages. I'm afraid we will lose some really good places. My family loves Applebee's so after my sister's choir concert, she wanted to come here to celebrate. It was our first time at this location and we were pleased to be seated quickly. We appreciated that they accommodated our request for a table instead of a booth. My mom always gets a perfect margarita, but this time around, it came to our table with no alcohol in it. The drink was a potent green and the moment our server poured it into the glass, we knew something was off. My mom tasted it and thought it was yucky and when I had a sip, I knew instantly that they had forgotten the most important ingredient-- the tequila! Our server took the drink back to the bar and was diligent about watching the bartender make the drink. The second one that came to the table was perfect and my mom was happy. My sister loved her kid's Oreo shake, and we loved that she could order a small size instead of the regular size because our fridge could be a graveyard of my sister's forgotten half-drunk bevvys. I ordered a Sex on the Beach and it tasted delicious, like juice. It was my first time ordering one at Applebee's, so hopefully, it had the alcohol in it, but I wouldn't have been able to recognize the difference. For dinner, we stuck with appetizers, getting two orders of boneless wings, the chicken quesadillas, and waffle fries. The wings are our favourite and they tasted just as incredible as they always do. The restaurant was mostly clean (as clean as Applebee's can really get) and we loved the chill vibes. Travis our server was right there to greet us and continued to provide excellent service throughout the night. This location is usually our favorite place but this time I was extremely dissapointed. I will say our server was great but the problem was the food. Normally, the bourbon street chicken is perfectly seasoned and cooked.Just right. This time, however, it was cooked to the point of being a hockey puck and very, very salty. My husband's ribeye was also way too salty. The steak itself was a lot fattier and tougher than normal. I can only assume that because the expense of food has gone up ridiculously, they're using a lesser grade of product. I think the worst part was that both my husband and I felt ill afterwards. As a former restaurant worker, I never send food back.But found it necessary to at least mention it on a review in the hope that the company will reevaluate this location and their products. read more

I ordered a steak dinner. It was ok. I went to use the restroom.....when I came back my silverware was in my glass of water, they put my napkin, coffee creamer and coffee cup in my plate. We quit going to Applebee's a while ago, but were pressed for time and thought the advertisements look interesting. SO GLAD WE DID! Their 10.00 sandwhich/fries/drink special is REALLY good! 4 people in the party and we all ordered "Chickenclukkin" or "Hamburger" and they came out exactly as advertised, quickly, and were served politely. Even the pickles were distinctive and good! Burger was medium as ordered and the fries were plentiful and hot. Great service-refills/water/clean tables. Remodel is nice. From the moment you walk in the door, the restaurant is somewhat of a low key location. They have a large dinner rush and not much inside seating while waiting for a table. The wait staff called our names so quietly that we almost missed it. They seem to be overwhelmed with the dinner veterans and understaffed which could just be a result from Covid. For a fine location with alright service it is an okay place to go. They are well known for their prices which have recently increased. It's about 15 per person. The menu is not descriptive and sadly the 2 for $22 menu was lacking substantial amounts. It's low key for a good conversation but not good for large groups. Eek! Methinks not is 100% right. My girlfriend and I ordered take-out (pretzels and beer cheese dip, garlic green beans, onion rings, and buffalo wings) and it was SAD. It was the saddest meal we've ever eaten. The pretzels were SO SO salty it was unbearable, and the minimal amount of beer cheese they gave (literally filled 1/4th of the cup) was as thick as mashed potatoes with a burnt crust on top. How does one look at a crusty, burnt, butthole shaped cup of cheese and want to eat it? The garlic green beans were okay-ish but definitely way overcooked and just kind of turned to mush in your mouth. The 5 mini onion rings they gave had a dry, crumbly, white substance (I'd guess extra breading but it looked too much like clumped protein powder) that was an instant turn off considering an onion ring shouldn't be lined with drywall. The buffalo wings were probably the only thing enjoyable, but they were on the colder side of lukewarm. Was this meal worth $40? Hell no. Would we order again? Hell no. Last two experiences have been terrible. 2 out of 3 entrees both times came missing half the entree, the burger we ordered with 'no pink' came as a bare chicken burger. We love the to go options that Applebee's offer. It's so easy to order online, schedule a time to pick up and there's plenty of parking for curbside pickup. Just call and someone will rush out and deliver your food!! We ordered 40 boneless chicken wings, spinach dip, 8oz steaks, a whiskey bacon burger, with some mozzarella sticks, fries, and garlic mashed potatoes!! It was a delicious meal for a great price!! Service was so so great but I just can't get past the mediocre food, which is pretty much served at every single Applebees locations, including here. Sadly, my bf and i took his dad out for lunch for his bday, and this was his choice. I cringed but decided to order something simple that they couldn't mess up. Neighborhood Nachos for me! 2 slices of limply fried jalapenos were the most disappointing part of the plate, but the half melted cheese on chips was close behind. No salsa or anything to dip the non cheesy chips in, but Tabasco was fine with me. Service honestly made it a tolerable experience though. I had a curbside order scheduled to pickup at 4:30, I arrived at 4:25 and checked in on the app but by 4:45 no order was brought out to me, cars that had arrived after me had gotten their orders and left so I called inside had to give my name twice but finally got my order which by now was cold. Aside from being cold the food was just mediocre. The dip sandwich my mom ordered came without the au jus, the mushroom burger which is supposedly to have a garlic mayo on it didn't have any and the fries for both orders were cold and all stuck together in their boxes. Is it really that hard??? The last two times my gf and I have eaten at Applebee's, it's been trash food. Tonight instead of dining in, we ordered take out. Our order was supposed to be ready by 5:35 and we had arrived at 5:45. However, we were told that it wasn't ready yet and that it was being currently prepared and would be fresh. It was anything but. We headed home (about 10 minutes) and the fries were cold and tasted like they had been sitting at room temperature for a couple hours. They were clearly old fries. My burger was cold as well and I had to microwave it. I thought the food was being prepared and would be "fresh." My gf's chicken was missing the bacon and the cheese on it was solid. How long had this food been sitting? Both entrees were cold. This is a disgrace and the management and lack luster kitchen staff/wait staff should be ashamed. Don't eat here unless it's appetizers and drinks. They seem to get those right. With such inedible food and no care taken to ensure some type of standard, why do you need your minimum wage to be increased if the employees can't even get food to be served at the proper temperature? Did car side Togo tonight, I think they were running behind & had 1 girl running the orders out & checking in with people arriving so I did receive my food after the pick up time. Once I received the food I asked about my drink and she had to run back inside to get the manager to bring the drink out. The French fries ordered as 1 side with the ribs were missing, and the au jus for the French dipper had a lot of vegetables in it but not enough broth for the whole sandwich to be dipped. Terrible service!!! Never returning again. I've tried giving this place a chance, so many times! The appetizers are always good, and the drinks are cheap/decent. But the entree's, EVERY single time are terrible! The service is always terrible! These young servers/hostess's/busboys, have ZERO customers service skills. They are on their phones, whispering to each other, giving unpleasant looks. Makes you feel uncomfortable as soon as you walk in the door! The entree was gross. The Mac and cheese was watery, no sauce was stuck to the noodles. No seasoning. The chicken was chewy. It looked like noodles in a puddle of soup. Our server, couldn't get our ticket right, after 4 tries! We told her from the BEGINNING. I was paying for ONE kids meal. Everything else was on another check. Nothing was being split. Plain and simple. She kept splitting the bill, adding things on mine, when it was supposed to simply be ONE MEAL. I don't understand how that was so hard for HER to understand? As we walked in, they treated me differently for the "team" sweatshirt I had (Green Bay). The gentleman's joked about it, but it was not funny, to me. It may have been funny but it was very offensive to me. I shouldn't be treated differently for the type of sweatshirt I have. It would be nice if they told us how long it would wait for us to get a table but they didn't. They never communicated to us. Went to Applebee's north spokane. Snowy day so empty. We both ordered the parm steak platter at 17.99 each She charged us 19.99 instead of price on menu. We noticed after we paid the higher price. It was lunch. We ordered the 6 Oz. In small type says you can upgrade to 8 Oz. She never mentioned that and charged us for 9 Oz. She would not refund the 2 dollars each meal. I kept seeing advertising for Applebee's on the television, so I would take my family in and when we entered the establishment one of the servers or managers there said something about my shirt and I felt disrespected , but I just laughed it off and sat down to wait to be served, they gave us no time frame to be seated so we didn't think much about it , but then we waited and waited and waited nobody came over to talk to us nobody ever said hey we're cleaning off some tables it will be this many minutes or whatever and after maybe 25 minutes we got up and left , as a restaurant they spend all of this money on Advertising to get you in but then you go there and their service is poor, their communication is poor and so they lose a possible patron. I won't go there again, there are too many other restaurants that I can give my money to. read more

You know, ever since I became a Yelper I have avoided chain restaurants with my whole soul. Shop local, eat local, be local. But we had a business meeting here at Applebees and I was very impressed. Let's start with service because the decor is fairly basic and chain-y and that is a-ok. Our server was hilarious. Someone I would totally be friends with. She was attentive. Brought me out the largest pomegranate margarita and gave me the bottle it was made it because there was so much left. That is my kind of girl. She knew the menu like legitimately could tell me what I should order. I had the burger and the hardest thing about this is that I am not picky. I will eat it all and will most likely love it, and this burger was delish! Tasty, juicy, all the toppings, yum. The fries, again not picky but very flavorful and the ranch was house made - from what they say. Overall a great experience for not being a local business that I would typically support. Our children pushed the "games" instead of menu on the screen and were charged. But that being said - legally can a child under 18 enter into a legal agreement to pay for a service? Because the answer is no... this is entrapment at the highest level. I am curious, has anyone pursued this legally???
