    Roasted chicken

I'm baffled by all the negative reviews. First time staying at the Davenport Grand. After a long day of traveling and working, I went down to the bar. The bartender was super nice and attentive. I ordered a glass of red wine and started with a Caesar salad, in my opinion, a really great Caesar salad. I ordered my meal to take back up to my room. I ordered the roasted chicken entree, it was absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed the service, the setting was nice, and the food was really good. So overall great service, great food, great ambience- five stars!

Great Service and Okay Food @ The Grand Restaurant & Lounge located in the Davenport Grand Hotel in Spokane, WA. Convenience of food in the hotel on a cold, rainy day was the main motivation to dine-in at this restaurant. Service by Brittany during the weekend dinner hours and by Marcus during breakfast were both exceptional!! Food was less to be desired during afternoon hours. Avoid the flatbread. Breakfast was decent. We'll check out Table 13 sometime and hopefully it's better. The Grand Restaurant itself was inviting with more upscale features. I did have to request clean utensils though, as old food was dishwasher dried on the ones initially given to me. I appreciated the cloth napkins. Comfortable seats at both the bar top and booths.

Stayed at the hotel for 7 nights and ate her for breakfast five times. As "lifetime Titanium Elite" with Marriott I get vouchers for a free continental breakfast or $14 off the menu. I did the menu each time. Loved everything I tried EXCEPT the waffles (they and a thick dough and the waffle iron was not pre-heated properly so they were not crisp). Restaurant is pretty empty in the morning so I always got seated immediately and lots of attention from my servers. Menu is creative and was surprised at how good a hotel restaurant prepared each dish. Plus tor me it was a GREAT value!

The Grand Restaurant and Lounge was the place for breakfast in this hotel for Marriott Platinum Elite and above guests. Anabel was my server both times I went down there to grab breakfast. The first time I was there, I did takeout as I had an appointment that morning, the second time I went, I dined in with Anabel as my waitress. She was nice and friendly and made some good suggestions. Smoked salmon and bagel, porketta, biscuit and gravy were the items we ordered. We ordered the smoked salmon and biscuit and gravy for takeout. My wife especially liked the smoked salmon the first time I ordered it for myself and requested another order of it for herself the next day as she liked the taste of the salmon and the way they toasted the bagel. The porketta was good. It was not what I was expecting. Anabel was great at making sure my coffee cup was filled and that enjoyed my breakfast. Its a good place for a cooked to order breakfast.

I arrived late on a Saturday night to the Davenport Grand Hotel and I was starving. So my quickest and best option for food was at the restaurant in the hotel lobby, The Grand Restaurant & Lounge. The restaurant was right across the check-in desks and the mini Starbucks. It was kind of smallish but the food and service was good. I ordered the prime rib sliders and they were really good. I was starved so it hit the spot! The following day we came back for drinks and they were great! I had one of their signature cocktails, the Terrace Sunset with Lunazul tequila, blood orange, cucumber and habanero. My girlfriend had the Grapefruit Drop martini. Both drinks were really delicious, wish I could go for another Terrace Sunset right about now. Overall The Grand Restaurant & Lounge is a great place to eat whether you are staying at the hotel or not. Great service and food, and great drinks.

    French Toast

I was staying at the Grande for several days; however, I had no intention of eating there. That changed when I had time to kill prior to my first meeting. Pleasant staff, quick seating and fresh coffee in my cup right after I sat down. The atmosphere is fine, you are in a lobby of a hotel. It is modern and designed nicely; however, you are still in a hotel lobby. The menu is really short, especially for breakfast. I ordered French Toast, the menu stated that the Davenport makes the bread. The breakfast was really nice, the bread was excellent (almost too thick). I had a wonderful texture and excellent flavor. Will I be back, sure, its convenient. Recommend: If you are staying there, stop in for a real breakfast.

-----update 9-23-2019-- Ok so I finally got to eat here at the lobby bar. I ordered the tuna roll. YUM. Also, 50% off 4-6pm happy hour on drinks only. I liked the Roll so much, i ordered the beef tips. Yes, hotel prices on food are expensive. BUT- the 50% off beverages makes up for that. So I added a star. Steak Tips - WOW. About $15 too. Small but dang their good!!. ----Old, first review--- added a star since then----- This is for the lounge. I went for happy hour. They have 50% off drinks. That's a GREAT deal. The draft beer was only $3.50 (vs $7). However, I was hungry too. Unfortunately, they DO NOT have any happy hour prices for food. So, I recommend getting some drinks out of the way- then to avoid "hotel prices" on food - go down the street to any other place (Chili's or wherever) to get your deal on food. --------

Gave me my French Toast completely raw. Avocado toast was very gross and bland. Service wasn't terrible but could be better for sure.

Most recently, on a Friday evening around 7 PM, my party was seated near the end of the bar by the restroom area. A server approached me in a confrontational manner and told me to move my chair because it was blocking the walkway. I immediately complied and moved it where he directed. Despite that, he repeatedly pushed and squeezed past the chair in an aggressive way several times afterward and then returned to confront me about it again. The interaction felt hostile, unnecessary, and unprofessional. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. On a previous visit, a female server was rude and controlling toward our table, and on another occasion when we were unhappy with a menu item, the response was essentially, "You ordered it, you pay for it," with no attempt to address the concern professionally. The atmosphere is great, which is why we've continued to come back. However, after several visits involving rude and confrontational interactions with staff, it feels more like an ongoing culture issue than a one-time bad experience. I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect basic courtesy and respect. Hopefully management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve the customer experience.

The Peacock Room was still open right by our hotel, so in we went. Best accidental decision of the trip. You walk in and the room hits you. Dark, moody, eclectic wallpaper, the kind of place that feels like it has stories. Then you look up. A stained glass peacock ceiling, thousands of pieces of it, glowing over the whole room. I just stood there for a second. Wow. The space is big and built for good company. Plenty of room for four couples or a bigger group to settle in. They stay open till 1am, which makes them a rare find for us late-nighters. The bourbon list earned my respect. I went Michter's, Old Forester 1910, and Weller Antique 107, and the 1.5 oz pours were priced fair and honest. No tourist markup. My wife worked through a Huckleberry Heaven, a dirty martini, and an espresso martini. The Huckleberry leaned on real local huckleberry instead of faking it. The dirty martini came cold and briny with a clean bite, just the way it should be. The espresso martini was rich and smooth with a proper foam cap, the kind that wakes you up and relaxes you at the same time. We got hungry. She had the chicken Caesar, crisp and fresh with warm chicken on top. I went prime rib French dip with fries. Crunchy baguette, savory meat, rich au jus. Exactly what you want at midnight. Then we split the chocolate cabernet cake to close it out, rich and creamy and worth the calories. Tyson and David ran the bar like pros. We're not from around here, so Tyson walking us through the local options meant something. Real conversation, no rushing us, just good people who know their craft. If you're in downtown Spokane, do yourself a favor. Walk in, look up, and order something good.

The live performance was incredible and set the tone for the whole night. People were dancing, laughing, and genuinely enjoying themselves. Whether you want a cozy corner upstairs, a lively bar seat, patio vibes, or a big table for a group, they've created a space for every kind of night out. Huge shoutout to Emily, our server, who made the experience even better, and Indy behind the bar WOW. I had the Spicy Jimmy Hendricks and I'm officially obsessed. Hands down one of the best drinks I've had in a long time. Now let's talk food because it deserves its own moment. The Zola mac & cheese? Jamie & Johnii were the cooks that night. Unreal. Rich, cheesy, and completely indulgent. And the burrata appetizer was fresh, flavorful, and the perfect start to the meal. Everything we had was top-notch. What really stood out to me is the crowd such a beautiful mix of people. Couples tucked away having deep conversations, friends celebrating, people dancing... it felt like a place where everyone belongs. It honestly made me wish I could have experienced it with my grandparents it has that timeless, joyful energy. They also offer private events, catering, and even the option to rent out the whole space, which makes it perfect for birthdays, date nights, or celebrations. Just a heads up it's 21+ so leave the kids at home with a sitter, but the vibe is welcoming, vibrant, and full of life. I'm beyond impressed. Zola is more than just a restaurant it's an experience. I'll absolutely be back.
