Went there after watching The Odyssey a second time during the matinee hours, so when we came out it's just the start of dinner hours and there were still plenty of tables. Nothing too memorable in terms of food, but my partner gave a "satisfying (if a bit too salty)" for the Twigs Burger. I also ordered a figs flatbread appetizer; waitress said they use fresh figs but it's obviously dried figs when I got to taste the dish Everyone looked a bit tired that day and I hope they got off work soon. Today my wife and I decided to go out for dinner and we wanted to go early. we arrived to Twigs at 3:40 and seated ourselves in the bar area. We were promptly greeted by a young lady with multicolored hair and she took our drink selection. She came back in about 8 to 10 minutes with my wife and my drink. we had looked over the menu already and have been to this same Twigs multiple times before. we are always a little reluctant to go to this location as it always seems to be hit or miss on the food and service. we ordered our selected appetizer (bruschetta) and also ordered our entrees at the same time. the waitress disappeared to the back of the bar area. we waited for about 15 minutes and we were surprised when the bartender walked up with our entrees. we told him that we had ordered bruschetta as an appetizer and had not received it. He began taking the entrees with him to put under the warmer as he said and he would track down our bruschetta. my wife and I both said no to not take away the hot dinner. we told him to just cancel the appetizer and we would just have the dinners.no apology, just an alright... we had ordered the Truffle Pene with Prawns, and the meals arrived hot. my wife took the first bite and she said that her shrimp were literally swimming in the sauce that is made with it. there was about a 8th of an inch of the sauce in the bottom of her bowl and when I went to take a bite there was zero sauce in my penne, only noodles and a slight hint that there may have been some sauce on it at some point during the process but it all ended up in my wife's portion. there were also 1/2 inch broccoli stumps mixed into the meals that absolutely no one would ever try to chew on . We understand if it was busy, but there were maybe six people in the bar side when we got there and maybe a dozen people in the restaurant. I would not recommend Twigs to anyone as we have seen the decline in service and expectations each time we are crazy enough to think it can't get any worse than our last time we ate there. we spent $87.00 for two sub par dinners a forgotten appetizer and two beers. when it came to the tip at the end of the meal my wife said not to leave them anything because they didn't even check back for another round of drinks . The waitress with multi hair did have time to bust some dance moves behind the bar while waiting for the food to be ready. Had I known that I was going to waste 87.00 on that meal I would have just stayed home. Terrible service, Terrible food experience , oh and there was zero salt in the pasta dishes. My wife and I both had to salt it to taste anything but garlic. We have given them far too many chances and gone home with epic fail experiences three out of the last four times tha we can remember. we left a five dollar tip because at least my beer got to the table cold. We arrived in town and it was time to grab some dinner. Tired, and really just wanted some small plate. We walked in and felt a bit unorganized, it wasn't clear if they were understaffed or what. Patrons were kind of standing around, waiting to be acknowledged. When was our turn, there was no warm greeting. We were just bluntly told that we could just go into the bar and see if there was a table because she didn't see one ready. I'm usually pretty understanding if people are short staffed or super busy. But I've had better service at a fast food joint, but I did when I walked in this place. Honestly, if I wasn't so tired at that point-I would've walked out and just gone to the mall and see what other chain restaurant I can eat at. We found a table in the bar area. One star down due to the cold temperature inside, the Chocolate Torte was not available; notified a few minutes after I placed the order, and when I selected the Text option for receipt I did not receive the text. I waiting for my polite server to return and I ask for paper and she returned promptly. It is always very polite and helpful service when I go. Not too much or little. Although this visit, my water glass remained empty before my meal was finished. I did appreciate the additional thank you to me, upon my exit from someone near the front door. The Pork Ribeye with pineapple salsa was good for the most part. Although it seemed a bit too pink and undercooked at one end, so I did not take the last couple bites. I did like the seasoning and the pineapple salsa added a nice mix and balance to the bites. The asparagus was crisp still and the whole group of "seasonal vegetables" was good. If only my stomach could hold more... :-) I like that the bar and lounge is separated by windows, creating a sound barrier but not a vision barrier. Went on a Sunday evening at 8:05pm. Listed hours of operation state open until 9pm. Sat in the bar. We were immediately told last call at 8:15pm without being greeted. The bartender was rude and clearly had no intention of helping us out. Told us that it was "up to us" if we wanted to order. We left the bar and moved to the dining room. The hostess was great. As was our server on the main dining side. The food was quick and delicious. However, the kitchen started blasting music at 8:30. Again, I thought the restaurant didn't close until 9pm. It was painfully obvious they were trying to remove the remaining guests prior to the 9pm closing. If a restaurant, or any service provider, states operating hours until 9pm, I'd expect business as usual until closing. Guests should not be made to feel uncomfortable or an inconvenience coming at 8:05pm. read more

It has been years since we have eaten here as we moved out of state for a while. We recently relocated back and my parents took me for lunch. We arrived on a Saturday around noon and it was extremely busy. We ended up sitting in the bar as that was the only tables that were open. After we were seated it was only a couple of minutes until our waitress came over and gave us our menus, asked for our drinks and left. A couple of minutes later someone came and brought our drinks and then we didn't hear from anybody for about 30 minutes. No one came over to check on us, no one filled up our drinks, no one asked to provide a refill. No one gave us an update on our food. There was no communication from anybody at all. When our food arrived it looked great. I ordered the fajita salad and it was delicious. The chicken was juicy, well-seasoned and the dressing on the salad was great. My family's food looked good as well, however, my dad's mahi-mahi tacos were dry. I feel like this experience was very similar to the one I had in 2016. When I am in Spokane, this is my go-to restaurant since 1) they have an entire gluten-free menu and 2) their food is so good! (Note they also have a vegan menu) Their regular menu has a great variety of things to order from so their is literally something for everyone. I really appreciate how their specialty menus (GF and vegan) have so many different types of food rather than the basic, safe go-to options. It makes it a real treat to eat there since it feels like I can eat normally again! My favorites are their GF pizza and GF flatbread. The service is typically very good with them being there when needed and them checking on us regularly. I love the ambiance. Very "with the times" but not "trendy." It is really nice and great for a date or a night/lunch out with friends. The bathrooms are always in great shape which I find a reflection of the restaurant overall and what is happening behind the scenes that we can't see. Be sure to try it out - you'll want to go back again for the experience and to try another great item on the menu...or perhaps you will love what you ordered sooooo much, you'll be craving it and want to have it again. I give this place 3 stars although I don't really like it. Many others seem to like it. It has that "chain food" taste, like there are some preservatives in the food. I may just be prejudiced against chains. The two or three times we've been there I thought the food was mediocre at best and I had some degree of indigestion afterwards. Saturday eve and the joint was jumpin'. We met family there for a drink and meal. I'm only covering my visit there as the fam can do their own reviews. Had a dirty martini that wasn't dirty! Crystal clear vodka. It was good, very smooth vodka, but no flavor. I'd rate it a 3. I ordered the osso buco, which I've had on my prior visits to other Twigs locations. It looked like a large dark brown lump on a plate. Presentation does count sometimes. The pork itself was good, but the demi-glace was too thick and overpowered the pork, garlic mash, and random mushrooms ect. I never did really identify or taste the mashed potatoes. Compared with my prior experiences I'd rate it a 2. Our server was a lovely young lady that did a superb job on our table of 7. Sadly, in my opinion, I'd opt for the Twigs on Regal or the one at Columbia Center in Kennewick. read more

Perfect Spot for a Business Lunch!!! I had the pleasure of visiting Twigs while in the Spokane Valley area for business. Twigs just happened to be on my list of Foodie destinations to try. I was very fortunate that my customer who I was taking out for lunch, recommended that we go to Twigs. Twigs has a few more restaurants in the Spokane area and is a small chain of upscale casual restaurants. One of the key elements that lead me to Twigs was that most of the locations had very positive reviews on my big 3: Google, Tripadvisor and Yelp. I did notice that most of the negative reviews were based on bad experiences with service or simply, someone got their feelings hurt. Being a recognized Foodie and Food Blogger, I always look for the info on the food, and most of the food reviews for this chain were four and five stars so Twigs was a no brainer. When our trio arrived at Twigs Spokane Valley location, we were greeted warmly and seated at a very nice table in a good location to see the decor of the space. Twigs is very nicely decorated with a tasteful design. We were there for lunch and it was busy, but our server took very good care of us and helped me with recommendations as I told her it was my first time there. The first recommendation was the tasty and delightful Kalua Pork Tacos with Kalua pork, House-made slaw, Creole remoulade, cilantro served on flour tortillas. This was my first experience with the Hawaiian-style Kalua Pork and twigs pulled it off with a great tasting starter. Next up was the main course, for this course, I tried the Tuna Tataki salad, made with slices of Smoked pepper-seared yellowfin, fresh romaine lettuce, shredded cabbage, cucumber, pear, ginger, bell pepper and a light a refreshing ponzu vinaigrette. This was a great dish for a lunch meal as it was not that heavy and yet still filling and not a huge portion. The tuna was fresh and the salad itself not overdressed. We all had a round of Reed's All Natural Ginger Beer which was a perfect match to a Tuna Tataki. What can I say, lunch was a hit and everyone was very pleased with the food and service. Twigs is a staple for us when we are in town and I have to take a moment to rave about the incredible service provided by our waitress, Sydney. Beyond her expertise, she had an amazing energy that lit up the room, balancing professionalism with genuine warmth and friendliness. She was just a sweetheart and we were very impressed. The drinks are amazing here- I got a lemon drop and it was done perfectly - fresh squeezed lemons - my husband got a Cadillac margarita and it had fresh fruit in it- very smooth . I then tried their huckleberry dip and they use real huckleberries! The bussel sprouts for an appetizer were good-not crispy - almost sour, but bacon, chunks of garlic and bacon made it very flavorful. This is great place for people who are gluten free. They have amazing pizza gf crust, they substitute all burgers with gf crust as well. The vibe is very hip for Spokane Valley admid lots of bar and grill joints. Our waitress was amazing. I had the prime rib dip with a gluten-free substitute they tasted just like the original. I added horseradish to the au juice and it was divine. I got the beet salad and although it was extremely tasty with Apples apples, walnuts and Gorgonzola there was not enough seats and they were a little hard. Even though is full I was convinced into getting the crème brûlée which was the best I've ever had. Not only was it to the perfect temperature and the crisp on top was perfectly done and torched, but they put fresh whip cream and caramel on the side. I was in heaven!
