I am a regular at this Applebee's. I love the drinks and the food. I normally dine in, but the last couple of times I chose to use the curb side service. My dine in service are good for the most part. The waiters are normally friendly and the wait time for my food is always short. However, my curb side service has always been a disappointment. I always order my house salad without bacon (bacon always managed to get on my salad). So I have to spend majority of my time picking the bacon off my salad. I would give them higher stars, but the curb side service is their down fall. read more

I went to this Applebee's with my girlfriend last night and I will NOT be going back ever again. They didn't get a single thing correct, to include the following: 1. The music selection was terrible. I don't know if most people realize it, but this is a major part of the experience in going somewhere. As I sat there and waited for my food, I started to get really annoyed with what was playing in the restaurant, and at one point, my girlfriend said, "It's like I'm sitting in a teenage girl's room, this music is annoying!" 2. The host wanted to put us at a table directly in the middle of groups of the extremely old and the extremely young. I am a foulmouthed person and this would NOT end up working out good for anyone, especially when they had 2 dozen booths available at the restaurant with no one in earshot. 3. We both ordered sweet tea and what we got in our glasses was neither sweet, nor tea. How do you screw THAT up? After we returned home, my girlfriend was so upset she had to make her own sweet tea because she wasn't satisfied. 4. The waitress took our order, we ate, and then took FOREVER to come back to both ask for and deliver the check to us. She kept asking if we want desert, like if she just would mention it 4 or 5 times we'd suddenly become more hungry and want desert. This quickly became annoying. 5. We both ordered Quesadilla Burgers and asked for them well-done. The inside of the burgers were beyond pink and barely cooked at all. I'm actually surprised I don't have diarrhea right now. 6. The Quesadilla Burgers came with french fries, and what goes good with french fries? Ketchup. It's too bad their bottle of ketchup at our table had none in it. 7. This is weird, and might seem nit picky, but my girlfriend and I were having a conversation about wacky license plates we'd seen, and she mentioned that she had recently seen one that said "IGETSMONEY." I was like, "I gets money?" and as soon as I said that, our waitress was passing by and that caught her attention. She immediately stopped what she was doing and asked me, "What did you say?" I said, "Nothing" and she went off to screwing up someone else's food. For some reason, this incident really set me off. I don't know what kind of "restaurant" they're running over there, and I use the term restaurant loosely; but I'm not going back there again. I'll have to try the one on Portsmouth Blvd if I feel like going to Applebee's again. read more

WHEW. So where should I begin? Let me paint a picture for you, if you will. Sit back and relax a bit. Does anyone remember how good Applebee's used to be like 15 years ago (my goodness I'm telling my age, not quite but really) Being that I grew up as a foodie before the term foodie was ever invented, I have experience some good food at a number of restaurants when I was coming of age, shall I say. So I can recall a time that Applebee's was SO GOOD. I remember getting the Applebee's signature hot club sandwich with that had warm, thick sliced ham and turkey, cheddar, tomatoes, mayonnaise and bbq sauce on it (absolutely scrumptious!) the chicken fingers were really good, the quesadillas, the wings, the fish and chips - all of these things used to be so good at Applebee's, I would BEG my parents to take me. Fast forward to 2014 and IDK what has happened to this this place. I mean this is as boring and as basic as a chain restaurant can be. I have TRIEDDDDDD to like it. It's also 3 minutes away from my house (2 minutes if the light is green) I would actually prefer going to Burger King than Applebee's. The food just isn't good anymore. Now at this particular location, the staff are excellent. Service prompt. Restaurant is clean to include the outside areas. Ambiance is actually okay - JUST THE FOOD IS BLAH. I do like that on Tuesday's at this location they have KARAOKEEEEEEEEEEEEEE BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, with a DJ. It's so much fun! The only thing that I come here for is to sit at the bar and have some drinks or karaoke. read more

Extremely poor service! We waited 15 minutes for our drinks. Food was barely acceptable. Fiesta lime chicken was ok. Rice was really dry. Tortilla strips were soggy. Store was out of mozzarella sticks so appetizer sampler sucked. This will be last visit. read more

Second carside to go order, second disappointment. First, they didn't get our order right. We got supreme fajitas, which is $2 more for queso and bacon. The queso and bacon was not there, so we had to wait for them to get it. Then the person who brought out our order literally put his hand out for a tip and stood there! When we got home, our steak was overcooked (well done when it was supposed to be medium rare), we were missing a side of fries, and everything was cold. They have the worst containers for to-go food. They retain no heat and we live just around the corner. The food wasn't just room temp, but actually cold. We will not be returning. read more

Who ever took the photos for the menus is the real MVP of this place. Service was good. Server was prompt and attentive. The downfall of this experience was the execution of the food. Maybe it was partly because we got there at 1120 and they opened at 11, so maybe they didn't have time to prep or get the grill hot. However my club house sandwich was not like it was pictured on the menu, I almost thought that I ordered something else by accident. It came out not toasted but soaked in butter, like maybe they just turned the grill on and it wasn't hot yet. On top of that I upgraded the fries to their garlic fries, don't do it. Fries came out and there was what looked like a spooned dollop or garlic sauce just placed on two frenchfries. Dollar wasted. To sum it all up, I wasn't expecting such poor execution from a big chain. read more

The food was the general Applebee's fare, but the service here was terrible. Incredibly slow. Took our server forever to get our drinks after we ordered, and once we received our food, he basically forgot about us. As a former server, I am generally forgiving - but he had three tables! I haven't been to Applebee's in a long time so my sister and I said why my friend and I decided to do the 2 for 25 she gets the 4 cheeses Mac n cheese and I get the half slab of ribs her Mac n cheeses was cold we sent it back it was fixed my waitress Tasha let me change my side because it was nasty so I ended up getting fries they brought the fries out they were cold and dry I also got a too go order of wings to go they were try looking and looked like they have been sitting for a while smh they need to do better read more

Applebee's use to be our I don't feel like cooking let's go get a meal and dessert place. Not happening on karaoke night don't even try it. The the food was extremely poor in the wait staff disappeared for the majority of the time. The 8oz steak was ridiculously small and pretty tough the baked potato was good the nachos were horrible in the three cheese mac and cheese had a little dob of cheese on it and the rest had nothing. read more

This experience was awful. We entered and immediately asked about the half priced apps. The host said yes several times to this question. We were seated and server took a while to come by a time or two. Our check did NOT in fact have the half priced apps on it. The server said things such as "Go to an ATM" or "There is nothing I can do about it." The server also blamed the server for informing customers about false information. They only took $5 off our bill to cover 4 Apps! Totally UNACCEPTABLE!! read more

Decent food and cheap drinks. The drink specials have gone up from year to year which is only natural, I guess. I find that different Applebees sometimes charge different prices depending on the city your in. I can't complain about the food here too much. It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing either. I come here with my children from time to time and we get our money's worth. I never had a bad waitress but once I had a waitress who I had to track down to refill our drinks...she had many tables to wait on so I can understand. Would recommend if your just looking for a decent priced casual outing. read more

CarsideToGo doesn't do any good when you get there at the designated time, wait 15 minutes, no one shows, you call the restaurant, no one answers and you have to go in anyway. Especially when they don't have your order, tell you they never received an order from us (placed online, with an email receipt and bank charge), then find out that your order has been sitting on the counter for 30+ minutes. My husband had to insist that it be remade because your employees apparently thought we were going to pay for cold, gross food and melted desserts?? Tasha was the employee who said they didn't have our order and was very rude until asked for her name as I'm sure she heard my husband saying he was going to email corporate.The manager, Chris, had no response other than to apologize. I'm sorry, but that doesn't cut it. He was nice, but totally ineffectual. When I screw up royally with my clients, they always get something free or I go the extra mile in some way to make sure they leave my business happy and with good things to say. Applebee's should learn this lesson. It took over an hour from the time we were supposed to PICK UP the food and when we got home, the order still wasn't right. read more

When will you learn...this is it! This place is the absolute WORST when it comes to service.Today I really believe I've learned my lesson and I am vowing to never go back to this place again. I spent the entire 30 minutes of my lunch waiting on my food but to no avail. I ordered from the lunch menu so you think this would be something that is routine and very easy to prepare. Don't know who the chef; I'm sorry but lead cook is in the kitchen but you should be disappointed in your crew's service or skill-set to prepare easy meals. To think that you're cooking these same items more than once a day, this type of service should not happen often. I thought it was a one-time thing from before but HELL no, this place SUCKS BIG TIME. This by was the worst service I've ever had. I came in with my friends and we didn't receive silverware until we received our food. We had to ask for silverware. Our waitress took our order and never came back. We ordered drinks and it took forever to get them. The food wasn't that good either. Visited Labor day evening between 6:05 and 7:30 waitress was pleasant. We had a problem with our caesar salads which had wilted romaine lettuce mixed in it. We overlooked it but we ordered our son the kids cheese burger that was supposed to come with lettuce tomato and pickles as per the menu. It came with just cheese so we told the server and the waitress and the waitress returned with the lettuce, tomato and pickles on a plate. We asked her to please remake the order. Then the manager came to our table and ask "is something wrong?" (more like confrontational than helpful or even apologetic) We explained the problem and he said okay and sort of walked away while my husband was still talking. Then my husband asked him was there a problem in addressing that they had made our order wrong since that was the impression we had. He replied no and refused to make any eye contact with us afterward. Not everyone can be a manager and that is probably the problem with this place as attitude reflects leadership. We will not spend our money at this place since they cannot make their own products correctly nor are interested in fixing it without making the customer feel like they are at fault. read more

I never leave reviews, but my service and food were so bad that I wanted to warn others. The evening started out well enough, but once our order was taken the waitress sat down with another waitress and started eating. This wouldn't bother me if it didn't take 45 min for our steak and chicken. When the food arrived, it was stone cold, steak was gristly and chicken (which arrived 10 minutes later) was shoe leather. Went to Applebee's (on 26 APR 2014) after being told there would be a 30 minute wait at Ruby Tuesday's (across the street). Apparently nobody showed up to work at RT (it was a beautiful afternoon!) - reason they couldn't seat us was they had almost NO staff!. Anyway, on to Applebee's. Started out great. Staff very friendly (perhaps too friendly??). Appetizer out fast. Then it goes downhill. Wife ordered a Caesar salad, I ordered a club sandwich. Restaurant is about 1/3 filled. Thirty minutes later an employee arrives at our table with someone else's food. Ok, it happens. Waitress comes by about five minutes later (working on 35 minutes for a salad and a sandwich in a nearly empty restaurant) - tells me they are waiting on fries for the sandwich. Fifteen minutes later, wife isn't happy with her salad (tastes funny), and my food hasn't arrived yet. Manager comes by and asks how things are. Well, of course it wasn't good. I asked the manager to bring the bill, and I'd pay for the app and salad. They ended up not charging for anything - even though I was more than willing to pay. Great job by the manager (Meagan?), kitchen staff FAIL. On the way out I asked the waitress what happened - as she had stated that all she was waiting on was fries. Her response was "they put the fries on someone else's plate" - huh? Call me skeptical. I worked in restaurants (years ago) - this is extremely far fetched. Something else was going on in that kitchen is my guess. They could have made 10 orders of fries between the time the waitress said that was all that was needed to complete my order. With so many choices of restaurants of this caliber, I highly suggest that that management repairs whatever is wrong - or they are going under (and people will lose their jobs!). Unfortunately probably will not give them another chance - it was just too disjointed. read more

I have a pretty healthy hatred of Applebee's restaurants from various experiences throughout the years. About 8 months ago, I found myself at this particular location. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. I couldn't believe it. I went again next week. Same result. It was, by far the best Applebee's I had ever been to. Fast forward to two visits about a month ago and tonight. Somebody quit or got fired because the kitchen has become a joke. Both times I ordered a steak medium. Both times it was 40 minutes to the table and well done on par with jerkey. This seems to be the norm here because my daughter had the same issue on her plate. In the time I spent waiting for my food, I watched the wait staff apologize to patrons about all kinds of assorted issues, most dealing with food quality. The one good thing about these visits was that, for the most part,the wait staff knows they are fighting a losing battle and do their best to make up for it. I wasn't so lucky. My waiter acted like I expected to spend two hours eating a $15 meal. He would roll by and swap drinks every 20 minutes or so. It's not like the place was packed. It was about a quarter full. Once again, Applebee's has fooled me. The only reason this one got me twice was because the second time was a gift card. Never again. read more

I honestly have to say this was by far the worst customer service I have ever received. I have to give props to the hostess she was awesome greeted us right away and sat us immediately. We sat there for a good 5 minutes before anyone said a word to us. A good amount of employees were sitting around the back of the restaurant looking around and not going to a single table while making the hostess do all the work I felt bad for her. Once we got a waiter he took our order and tried walking away as I tried to order for my son so I had to chase him down to get his order in. Soon after he brought us our appetizer he threw it down on our table and walked away never did he once make sure we were good or needed anything. We had to get another sever to get us silverware and napkins. Our waiter disappeared for over 20 minutes and then finally came back to our table with the food he once again dropped it off and walked out without asking did we need refills, sauces, or whatever else. At this point I was over our server. I had to ask yet another server to please get is bbq sauce and more drinks. After we were done eating our server had the Right nerve to come to the table and go so ready for ice cream. We said no we want our check. When he came back to the table with our check I couldn't believe he told us about the survey and told us the last table he had messed up on there's and put all negative for him when he was clearly a good server and told us to make sure we read the survey correctly. I use to like coming to this particular Applebee's when ever I came to visit friend, but my last visit was HORRIBLE,..it took 10 mins for our waitress to come over, she messed up our drink order and to top it off someone else brought out ALL our stuff the whole night...it wasn't that busy, she was nowhere to be seen...the manager was very friendly as we're the other waitresses but I am giving this place one star because of the waitress we had...the fastest I saw her move is after we paid and left...she went right to the table to get her tip only to find we didn't leave one...that what you get for ignoring you customers JEN...o yea I said her name... read more
