Check management for having lazy, rude waiters that never made it to my table even when i was seated for 30+ minutes with no drink or food ordered, i left and went to Chilis instead and got seated and ordered with appetizers within the first 5-10 minutes I was there and I was happier spending my money at Chilis instead, I will never go back to applebees in tewksbury ever again and I went back there twice to give it another chance but i was lead with disappointment once again, but never going back there again, worst experience yet and everyone that establishment should be fired, I hope everyone that reads this takes this into consideration read more

Well, it's a chilly Friday night and I didn't want to cook. Went onto Instacart and ordered the 2/$26 which came with an appetizer for my son and I. I ordered the 8oz steak with the up charge as well as the French Onion Soup, and that had an up charge as well. The steak was rare. The soup had mashed potatoes in it. The mozzarella sticks look fine, I ordered my son a burger with all the fixings and fries. The entire order was delivered cold. The steak was raw in the middle, I tried to microwave it, but even the cat wouldn't eat it. I don't mind spending the money, but it was a total disappointment. I live across from the 99's and I have never had this issue. This is my first time at an Applebees since the one in Chelmsford closed years ago. Cold chew food is definitely not worth the money. And potatoes in the soup!!!! Good god! I'm all set. Highly disappointed. For my Kitty ‍ carnivore who eats every type of meat I have on my plate to snub steak makes a statement. Went for my sons birthday and it was just an awful experience. Table next to us blasting music and singing. I said i was uncomfortable and overstimulated and waitress said nothing. Burger came out completely wrong so my family was half done before i even began eating. Everyones food was cold. We mentioned it was my sons birthday and there was no singing or dessert. We were never checked on during the meal, and waitress never really even came back so we had to pay with the electronic thing on the table. Ummmm...so I went and ordered a burger. Medium Rare. What I received was a flattened or smashed burger that was well done and burnt on the edges. I told the waitress and she said the cook has been told not to do that over and over. She said the cook is disgusted by rare meat so he intentionally refuses to make anything other than well done. Applebee's isn't really a restaurant I would go out of my way to go to in general, but my sister and her kids like it so we meet up here regularly. We were excited to see that they have mini computers/screens for instant ordering of appetizers and quick check paying. The check paying alone is a perk because waiting 10 minutes for a busy waitress on weekends to bring the check is the worst part of eating out. Food was good, same as Applebee's Chelmsford. The chicken quesadilla appetizer had no flavor and was dry. My dad ordered a beer and didn't get it till after we got the appetizer as she said she forgot. The burger was disgusting as it was greasy and dry it tasted like it was old and wasn't cooked pink like I wanted it. The French fries were also old and stale. It was about 9:45pm when I arrived, first my boyfriends soup tomato basil soup came and it was soggy and warm like it had been sitting all day. Secondly, they got my order wrong and I had to return it and wait even more for my meal. Lastly, I received my order of the 4 cheese Mac and cheese, honey chicken tenders, and my fork had been taken. I didn't realize till I got my order. I waited about 10 minutes, no one came to check on us. I waited another 5 and had to get up myself and go grab one from the host desk. Online order: I tried to place an order online and when I got to the last screen to place the order I got an error (error: We're spry there was an error placing your order try again or contact store directly ; Error validating basket) I tried multiple times and tried from different computers, I proceeded to call the store I spoke with the manager after being transferred 3 times. The MANAGER tells me sorry that's weird you'll have to call UberEats to see why you cant place the order. I'm explaining to the manager that this is on the apple bee's website he said "yes I understand but we don't do deliveries UberEats does" I was upset and told him UberEats are their affiliates its his responsibility to figure out why I was unable to place the order ON THEIR WEBSITE( Applebees.com) needless to say the manager was unable to help and I was unable to place the order for delivery. Horrible customer service. I am 8 months pregnant and unable to leave my house. If you offer a service you should own up to it and figure it out for your PAYING CUSTOMERS. The management team needs a lot of re-training. Or just simple, basic "how to talk to a human being" training. The behavior displayed by one manager (who wasn't wearing a name tag) was very rude, dismissive and disheartening. I certainly won't be back because of him. I know that doesn't matter to him, but if I can send a warning to anyone considering coming to this location: don't waste your time. Wow!!! A group of four of us went to this Applebee's restaurant last night. The waitress knew nothing about the ingredients for ANY of the items in the menu! We asked for salads with dressing on the side and were served salads drenched in dressing! We asked if there was a veggie burger option, she had to go ask someone in the kitchen. We asked what would be in the veggie burger, she had no idea and had to go ask again. She came back to show us a picture she took off the packaging in the kitchen, with her cellphone. We were then served a burger with a SINGLE leaf of lettuce, which was brown and shriveled up. After showing her the lettuce, she said "hmmm" and shrugged her shoulders. We asked for a vegetarian soup and she suggested the onion soup, not knowing there is BEEF BROTH in that soup!! Whatever food that did make it to our table was lukewarm...the plates were hotter than the food that was in them. Everything tasted like last night's dinner, warmed up a second time!! I went to this restaurants around 5pm on a Tuesday. I think our servers name was Loretta. She was very rude and unprofessional. I go to Applebees all the time and order a cheese quesadilla and ALWAYS they mess it up and bring me a chicken one. We first sit down and order drinks that take over 5 minutes to get to us. Then the food comes over 15 minutes later completely wrong and it was another server that left it. It took her 10 minutes after another server dropped the food to even come back to ask how it was. Everybody else was done eating at that point that I didn't want new food. Then after she comes back to tell me I ordered a cheese quesadilla wrong and was very rude and disrespectful to me. She didn't ask if we wanted desert and dropped the check. We wanted dessert and had to wait another 10 minutes for her to come back with a dessert menu. This place sucks something awful! Never in my life have has the word petite ever been associated with me and to that end I have very rarely met a meal I didn't like. With that in mind Apple Sleaze made a me a burger that I seriously had no desire to finish. It tasted microwaved, it was just plain out awful. You can't make this stuff up if I tried. Ready.... We show up here for lunch (husband, daughter and I), they go and seat us the farest booth in the back. Just to let you know we pass at least 5 open booths along the way. We sit at the window where it was clearly freezing. The cold air from the out side was penetrating threw the glass and the heat was on low. After looking around we noticed everyone by the windows had there jacket on. After 15 minutes, the waiter comes to us. We say hey we need to over there (with was a table set up just on the other side of the isle) because it is freezing here. He goes ok and then disappears. We then look for him to be never seen again. 20 more minutes later a waitress shows up to us and now I am ripped I lean into her telling her everything, and how in professional that is. So she take our drink order and food order and tells us she will address this with him. She does come back quickly with the drinks. Then 10 minutes later manger comes and we tell her how in professional he was, the lack of customer service that was given to us, how it is friggen freezing it is over here. She apologizes to us and tells us she wants to make it up to us...she is going to buy us dessert. Dinner comes, it was fine, time for dessert, we all get dessert, then the bill...mmm ya right dessert was on them..mmm ya wrong! Only 1 dessert was...we brought this up to the waitress but she didn't seem to care either. So, here I am telling everyone who reads this. DO NOT go here. Started coming to Applebee's more recently and have been visiting about 2-3 times a month. The burgers are surprisingly delicious and I say that only because I don't think of Applebee's as a place to go for great burgers, but apparently, it is. Tonight my husband and I took our two young children as usual but things took a terrible turn on our end when our two year old had quite an accident. I panicked and turned to wave down any waitress in sight (there were a bunch) when I realized that a few of them were already on their way to me with paper towels in hand. I was of course mortified but they played it so cool, all of them reassuring me that they've all been there with their own kids and it was no problem. Another waitress asked if she could help out and hold my 10 month old who was also crying from the ruckus. She told me she was previously a nanny and I was so grateful for her kindness to distract my baby while I tended to my other child. I can't stress how great and helpful ALL of the waitresses were and so kind to make me feel better about the situation. As we were leaving, the manager came and said he heard about what happened and he felt bad our dinner got cut short and insisted on sending us a gift card to return for another meal! Every time we've been to Applebee's the servers have been so friendly and the food very good, but this time it was outstanding. And on the way out, I heard three customers complaining that they were told by the people taking orders for pickup were giving 20 minutes to get their food ready. Every time I visit this Applebee's in Tewksbury, I feel like I am reliving my high school days. I don't mind it since I didn't have the worst of high school experiences. It feels pretty homey even though I don't frequent it anymore. Writing a review for a place I've visited a lot in the past is kind of difficult since I've had a range of experiences. I guess I'll base this on the most recent visit. I met a good friend here to catch up over drinks and an appetizer. The chicken quesadilla we shared was delicious. I was pretty hungry so it could have contributed that extra "seasoning", but the quesadilla itself had great texture and flavor. (Weird assessment for chain cuisine, but hey, I'm not too snobby!) Our server was both pleasant and attentive. As soon as we finished our drinks, she came back over to check in and offer more drinks. It's rare, but we got service with a smile. The bar seemed to be pretty busy (regulars no doubt), it offers standard fare -- beer and some house drinks. I know it sounds weird since everyone else (all four of them) seems to hate this place, but I think it's a nice everyday-type restaurant to go to. All the food choices are safe and reasonably priced. You could certainly do worse. read more
