One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. We came as a party of 4 in the evening when it was very slow and were sat in a far corner. We waited 15 minutes to even be acknowledged by the waitress, who didn't bring water or anything. We put our drink and food orders in at the same time due to the initial wait, and after 30 more minutes, still without our drinks and waters and our waitress not appearing once in that time, we decided to leave. Management should be ashamed of how bad the service is here. read more

Zero stars! Not even worth of 1! The absolute WORST service ever. Applebees is going down hill. Went in for just an appetizer, it took 25 minutes for them to get there, COLD. Not to mention, the hostess seemed so strung out on who knows what. Zero sense of urgency. OH and the bar was completely out of everything draft, and I heard the bartender say they didn't have a bar tender for tonight- no worry! They don't have drinks! One more thing, the strung out hostess dropped a pile of silverware on the ground in front of us, set them aside. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the staff was friendly. Do not waste your time ! We got to the restaurant at 5:30 . Sat by 5:45 which was good since it was a Saturday and we had 14 people. Didn't get water on the table til 6:20. Apps by 7 only because I asked the manager to help our server whom was definitely in the weeds. Our actual dinner took 45 min to get to the table. Another 45 to cash out. This place has gone downhill. I know that it is difficult to find employees but if you do find them, put some effort into grooming them to be presentable to the public. I appreciate ALL restaurant workers but some things get under my skin when I encounter them like: super-duper slow service, complaining by the server, unkempt server. We arrived at 7:30pm it was a slow Tuesday evening. Our server, a porky lady, literally shuffled/waddled over to us. She was pleasant. Our order for fettuccini, soup and a rice bowl meal ($40.00 bucks for this meal, no dinks) arrived 50 minutes after we put in our order. While passing the time I watched as other servers moved quickly and used trays to deliver items. I watched our server as she slowly maneuvered to a nearby table cradling two large soda drinks with her arm pit, pressed against her chest while she held two other drinks in each hand. What happened to using a tray? I couldn't believe she actually had two drinks pressed up against her body! At 8:45pm a nice slumbering 1 hour and 15 minutes since we arrived (greeted by a frowning hostess) we finally received our bill along with the server saying how her legs hurt, she ached all over and that her shift ended at 9pm and she couldn't wait to go home at which point, I exclaimed, that I too was looking forward to leaving and going home! She didn't get the hint. If she thinks bellyaching about her woes will get her a bigger tip she was wrong. We did tip 18%. I got up and asked the bartender for a box for mom to take home her meal as we didn't want to wait another 10 minutes for that item. We will not be returning. This, however, took another 15 minutes, so we asked for it to go. From the time we sat to the time we left, 90 minutes had passed. Back of house needs a fire under their keisters. Wait staff yelling to each other across the restaurant, our waitress coughing into her hands and not sanitizing or washing afterward, clear dissension between employees (literally heard our waitress say another employee was "about to get on my nerves"), had to ask for napkins, drinks were never offered to be refilled, our waitress was on her phone several times while we were there. It is good for what it is. It's a family friendly restaurant and the server was very kind and attentive. There are some healthy options that include meat but if your looking for vegetarian your options are pasta or fried cheese sticks. Samantha J at the Utica location has been my server twice now and both times she exceeded my expectations. the most recent time I went it was super busy, she was training a new hire and she kept getting tables (literally if one walked out, it was being filled immediately). We arrived here on a Friday night (Pay Day) around 6:30 p.m. for a summer dinner and Strawberry dollarita's. Brain freeze time! To start off the evening meal was an appetizer of 4 pretzel sticks and their tasty beer cheese dip to help with keeping the $1.00 margaritas coming for refills. Alex our server was busy in the area with other tables yet was personal enough to chat briefly then check and chat with us before we ordered. I always wait to order my food once the appetizer arrives to allow time for cooking instead of being rushed. A perfect idea to always use as reference at any place to eat. I ordered the Cedar Planked Salmon with a mustard glaze, chessy mac and cheese with diced bacon bits and crispy broccoli. It was a delicious choice of seafood from start to finish. YES I cleaned my plate. (I am a member of the clean plate club). My spouse enjoyed 3 beef brisket tacos, with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and seasoned salsa from start to finish with a messy plate since the tacos were stuffed well and crispy fries. Besides Alex our waiter checking on us frequently, the evening manager, Jen stopped by to chat and confirm our service and meal was acceptable. She also spoke about the value with our feedback by mentioning to complete the survey on our bill after check out. Yes I did since I also do surveys to the good or bad at a business. I also donated $5.00 for the charity of the month or summer which was JDRF ( Diabetes) therefore, our appetizer was free and $7.99 off our bill. My opinion : Applebee's has always BEEN the perfect place to visit since it was built here in the 90's ? any time of the year or season with a relaxing atmosphere, great service, delicious food, and well blended mixed drinks or other beverages. My first time ever trying Applebees and will be my last. Decided to go in after I saw an amazing review on tiktok. However, this Applebee's was dirty, the waitresses were rude and loud, and the food was disgusting and cold. I went with my sister and my fiancé. I got my food before all of them, my sister got her plate 15 minutes after. At a restaurant, that's meant to sit families I would expect to get all plates at or around the same time. First and last time coming here, came with my girlfriend and her dad for the first time to try, the bartender was really nice and his service was great(was our server) the biggest problem of it all was of course the food, I ordered medium sirloin steak came close to raw, my girlfriend ordered medium too hers came well done, on top of all of that the steak tastes as if it was taken out of the freezer. It started with us only having one pair of silverware, and took us asking multiple people to get another one. when we got our drinks, I had to ask 3 different people to get us straws because we never got them. we then waited almost an hour before we even got our main course, which then came out ICE cold. I didn't even touch my food. the waitress kept disappearing after we asked her for something (straw, refills, etc.) and she didn't have many tables (us and 2 other tables). Food took forever to come out! When the food came out, my mashed potatoes were cold. One grandson had hot hamburger, cold french fries. Other grandson had hot chicken strips with cold french fries. Wife ordered the appetizer platter with the boneless wings plain, they were not plain they were smothered in some sort of hot sauce. 15 minutes went by and we still had not received her replacement boneless wings, when we finally received them, they were cold, had been finished, but just sitting back there. The final straw was when we ask for catsup, twice, from two different servers, finally got what we were told was catsup, turned out to be marinara sauce! About that time, I ask to see the Manager! The manager came out, covered in head to toe with sweat, it appeared she was the one cooking back there. After I vented about how my wife and I honor all Applebee's for so many years, love coming to them to this very day and how after this experience, will never ever set foot in another Applebee's as long as we live! She said: I'm sorry, is there anything we can do to make this right? I responded with you have an empty restaurant? The employees are sitting around playing on their cell phones!!! I pointed at the one waitress and said she wouldn't even go get me a frikkin BBQ sauce for my grandson without assuring me I was going to have to pay for it and proceeded to sit right there playing on her phone, am I in a time warp or something??? The Manager, who I could see had absolutely no control of her employees, the restaurant or anything else, she simply said fine: I will COMP your entire meal and hope you come back again sometime.
