Ordered carry out from here for the first time since 2023 after moving back to Michigan. Waited 40 minutes from the time I called my order in for a single order of wings (10 minute drive there and 30 minutes of waiting in the restaurant). My sister came in after waiting 20 minutes in the car for an order that was placed beforehand on the phone, asked the hostess (who was previously helpful when taking my payment) what was taking so long because we had already been waiting 20 minutes at the restaurant and she just dismissed my sister said sorry and walked away. We had to get who we think was the manager and he voided the order and we left without getting the only thing we ordered. Thankfully we drove down the road and stopped at Black Label Tavern and ordered wings to go and received them within 10 minutes of placing our to go order, granted they weren't as busy, but the service at Black Label Tavern was amazing compared to Art & Jake's. We had a party of 14 yesterday and Markie, our waitress was a 10 of 10, the food was great hot and ready, we have never had bad service or food. The kids loved the 3-cheese bread and mozzarella sticks. The salads were also very good, the steak bites were a big hit also. This was one of the worst carryout experiences I have ever had. The Bavarian pretzels were rubbery and chewy, with very little salt or butter. I honestly would have had better luck with frozen pretzels from the grocery store. The chicken tenders and fries were just as disappointing as the pretzels. The soup was advertised as stuffed pepper soup, but it had the thin consistency of plain tomato soup, with very little rice or beef. The most unacceptable item, however, was the village salad. The cucumbers and tomatoes were clearly not fresh and tasted as though they were several days old. Overall, I spent $50 on what felt like reheated leftovers. This was extremely disappointing, and I will not be returning to this establishment. read more

Love the options of outdoor seating. Good food variety. My only complaints are 1. The garlic sauce in the Mediterranean bowl (maybe called Schwarma chicken bowl?) is NOT the original garlic sauce that they had or what you find served with Mediterranean food. It is more like a modified salad dressing. Big disappointment. 2. The Maurice salad is not chopped and you get 5 whole sweet pickles stacked on top to chop up yourself. The dressing is NOT anywhere like the real Hudsons dressing - another disappointment. If you are going to sell it as a "Maurice" Salad then do it right. Small things but it is sometimes the details that make it or break it. Service is always consistent and good. read more

Service was good- friendly, quick. Some of the booths had their own TV so you can enjoy your preferences. Menu selection is huge so I would say most can find something to their taste. I had the Bang Bang Tacos and a Mudslide to drink. My other half had steak and a Moscow Mule. Art and Jakes is on the higher side regarding price, but the quality makes it worth it. So if you want to grab an adult beverage and watch a game or spend time with family watching on your own TV in the booths Art and Jakes is the place. I would definitely recommend. read more

This is a nice sports bar with ample seating and a lot of screens to watch sports. There are some booths with their own screens as well. The service is great. Our waitress Samantha was super friendly and had a nice inviting smile when answering our menu questions. The food is pretty good for bar food. It is a bar so I set my expectations appropriately. We had the boneless chicken wings and the egg rolls for appetizers. The wings had a ton of breading and not much meat. The egg rolls were decent but a little too mushy on the inside for me. For main entree, I had the chicken shwarma bowl and that was good. My coworker had a light beer on tap and the steak and he mentioned it was ok. All in all I'm giving a 4 because it's better than you can expect from a sports bar. read more

If you are looking for a family friendly menu at family affordable prices, I highly recommend Art & Jakes. from pizza to pasta and everything in between. The fish & chips are hot, fresh, and very well done. To complement that is good service, each time we have gone the attention to servicing the customer is evident. Worth trying them. I've never been to this restaurant but I've ordered takeout at least 30 times this past year. This location is consistently good with take out orders. I live near the WA location but they are horrible so I make sure I use UberEats to get food from the Shelby location. They are profoundly different with regard to preparation and ingredients for some reason. The meatloaf is great! The chicken Bella, fish and chips and Turkey Reuben are my go to favorites. The fries are always fresh and delicious. I always order the carrot cake, which is huge and worth the price. It's enough to feed 4 people! Home made for sure. I don't like the hand dipped chicken strips, delicious crunchy batter, but not much chicken. It's a challenge to rip them apart searching for meat. The kids tenders are a frozen product and mostly breading, much worse. You can't lose with the hand battered Cod. I started out LOVING the Cubano sandwich but it changed, and I'll never order it now. It used to have pulled pork and ham, expertly prepared and pressed with melty cheese into a true masterpiece. Now it has a pile of ham with cubes of pork belly that is loaded with blubber, every bite is different and just a horrible Cuban sandwich. The Italian grinder tastes like pinesol, must be the vinegar peppers. The Mexican bowl is delicious and well thought out into a healthy, tasty, but not very spicy for a Mexican dish. The sugar cookie dessert is uncooked dough, just an FYI if you order it delivered. Uncooked and swimming in ice cream. The salads are blasé unless you get a fresh Caesar with shaved cheese. The coleslaw is the worst item on the menu and it actually scares me, like it's spoiled or rancid every time. The easiest thing to make and they fail with that one. The vegetables served with entrees are always freshly sautéed with garlic and sometimes I order extra as a side Everything I've ordered has been pretty decent, minus a the few I just don't like! It's standard bar grub unless you order an entree like Chicken Bella, which is a delicious chef quality dish. I'm always ordering when I see the online specials, and they also deliver late at night! read more

The food is pretty hit or miss! Our pizza is usually super overdone, so we ask for it to be not so over cooked to where the cheese is dried out. The nachos are the same way where the cheese is usually a little too over cooked! The fried pickles aren't breaded well so it tastes like a regular pickle out of a jar with no fried crunch. I met a friend here for happy hour and didn't realize there's more than one Art & Jake's. I'm used to the one at M-59 and Mound, so I'm familiar with their set up. Walking in, this place has plenty of seating. I reviewed the menu before hand, and this one has different food than I remembered? Or maybe the menu changed since I'm not there frequently. Prices are higher than I remember. I ended up getting a burger with fries since I wasn't feeling interested in trying anything new. (I was tired and hungry, so we had to go with something that I'm familiar with.) My friend got the buffalo chicken wrap, which was super spicy! She had to send it back since they really over did it with the spice. She did say it was good though. I thought about getting an adult beverage, but passed since I was half delirious. Food was great and our server was very attentive. I wish they had the TV on at the table, but it probably would have been a distraction to us if it was. Cool sports bar atmosphere, great service, tasty food, and drinks can be found visiting Art & Jake's! I visited last night with two friends. My friend who raved about the place enjoyed pork belly tacos that looked amazing. I and my other friend ordered lobster sandwiches, which was pretty good. The lobster was prepared just right. However, I would have liked more of it. The side of fries seemed skimpy, but overall, it was a tasty combo. There are at least two locations. I actually ended up at both of them...long story... My first warning was the size of the menu, rule #1 if the menu is too big, the food is likely no good. well, this place has a huge menu. First, parking here is a complete nightmare. This place is so large, and the Macomb/ Shelby crowd loves mediocre food so much, the place is always packed and the parking lot is a zoo, The lack of carry out only spots near the front seems like a bit of a mistake. Next, service. The order was 15 minutes late, was told that food would be ready at 7:15, finally got it at 7:32. I get there are staffing issues everywhere so I'm not unreasonable. I'd rather be told an accurate, if longer, wait time than sit in a packed restaurant lobby with blaring music and and Detroit Mercy basketball game on the TV. Now the food itself, nothing to write home about. My son got a pizza, the inside of the box looked as thought the kitchen was playing frisbee with it, toppings and sauce all over the box top and sides of the box, definitely didn't look like it was handled with care. I got a steak sandwich, the protein was tough and gristly and generally unpleasant. The fries completely sucked, you could tell they were straight from Gordon's Food Service, nothing fresh or hand cut about them. My wife enjoyed her mushroom burger, maybe this is their strength. My family (table of 8) came for a memorial dinner. We never had a waitress/waiter come up to us after sitting down for almost 20 minutes. We placed orders for appetizers and dinner. We got our drink orders pretty fast after placing them. Some of us drank them all before we got our food. The appetizers came, one of us asked for a Diet Coke. It didn't come for 37 minutes when they started bringing out our food. The waitress asked how everything went, we mentioned we needed more beers. She interrupted us saying "just about the food". When she got to the other side of the table we politely said "we need a few more Labatt Blues" and she cut us off saying "I know what you are drinking. What about your food!?" The food came. Hoping it was better...it wasn't. The nachos were ice cold. The turkey burger had no sauce on it. The pizza had no sauce. One of us went to a manager to talk about it. Nothing was done to our bills at all. When the one couple that paid in cash, she literally threw their change in the table and left without saying anything. This was the only time in my life I didn't leave a tip. I normally start at 20-25% and adjust from there. It was absolutely ridiculous. I hope no one gets "Steph" for their service here at the 23 mile road location. read more

Came here for lunch with my coworkers. The restaurant was not too busy but there were a good number of groups of people that were seated and eating. Our waitress was very nice and took our drink orders right away. I'm not a big fan of American bar food but, I was hungry, so I started to browse the menu. There were a lot of choices listed on the menu which made it hard for me to pick and choose what I wanted to eat for lunch. I eventually settled for a chicken wrap with French fries because I didn't want to be too bloated going back to the office. My coworkers ordered similar dishes. The order came in quickly, which was good. My plate was well served. I was surprised the wrap had enough protein and it was tasty. At first the amount of French fries I was given was a little questionable because I thought it wasn't going to be enough. Halfway eating through my plate, I was glad at the amount of fries I was given because I was getting full. Overall, the food was good, and the service was great. Our waitress made sure our drinks were full. The restaurant itself is huge with a lot of TVs playing different sport channels. I used to frequent at this location a lot in the past. My family decided to come to this location recently on a Sunday to eat. We got in when they first opened so it was not very busy. We had quite a big group with two younger kids. Our waitress was on top of it, by bringing out drinks and appetizers out quickly. She brought a ton of napkins. She was really quick at refilling our drinks right away. All of our food came our fresh and did not take too long. She made sure to get the little kids their food fast which was super awesome. She had an amazing personality. She checked on us quite a few times as well. She was very understanding when we had to all split the bill as well. She brought the checks quickly, when usually it takes a lot of people a lot of time. The only thing that kept me from giving it a five stat was the food itself. My wings were good, but they barely had any sauce on them. Some of my wings had a good amount though, so I tried to mix them up a bit. I am sure they would have fixed it if I asked but I didnt want everyone to wait, so I ate them and they still tasted good. I just noticed that the wings do not get really any sauce on them. Hopefully it was just a fluke, but we were the first ones in and experienced this so it makes me wonder if this is the norm. read more
