I visited this bar last night 4/3 around 8:30-Midnight and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. The service was slow from start to finish, and our server made us feel uncomfortable the entire time by giving us an unwelcoming attitude. What really stood out to me, though, was the interaction with the male bartender. My boyfriend placed a $50 bet on Keno and ended up winning $180. When cashing out, the bartender made a comment out loud saying "that's bad juju for not leaving a tip" that felt unnecessary and unprofessional, especially as we were leaving he yelled out "I'll remember that" and repeated it. It came across as if a tip was expected based on the winnings, which felt inappropriate given the situation. As someone who works in the service industry, I completely understand the importance of tipping but it should never feel forced or implied, especially in a situation like this. Between the slow service, uncomfortable atmosphere, and the bartender's behavior, the overall experience left a bad impression. I wouldn't return based on this visit. read more

Tap and Barrel is a wonderful experience that you must try out! They offer a variety of different seating options including indoor and outdoors. They have TVs every where to watch your sports, enjoy a brew, and some delicious food. The service is spot on, they're quick and attentive. No wait. It's not a far drive from our other two attempts at eating Mexican tonight. The tower of onion rings look good, the fried pickle chips sound yummy with the Cajun dip as well. We ordered the 12 piece boneless Buffalo wings with garlic Parmesan, Greek salad with feta on the side, onion rings, fried pickle chips and a Caesar salad too. There's a short hair in my husband's water and it's on the inside of the glass, this is why I always keep my hair back. Another waitress took away our discarded limes and requested for a new club soda water for my husband. The Caesar wasn't worth $11, it's not special and the dressing wasn't anything special either. I think the onion rings were good, nice and crispy, maybe a bit heavy on the batters and some gobs of excess batter on the rings too. The fried pickles were piping hot. The Cajun dip was a good with the apps. The pickled have a very pungent and funky taste to them. We couldn't figure out why they tasted odd, but off for sure. Would not recommend them at all. The Greek salad was blah. Totally not worth $14 for this salad at all. Lots of veins of the lettuce and thick pieces too. The dressing was very vanilla and flavorless as well. The boneless wings was the better part of our meal. The breading was a bit heavy handed, but the meat was nicely cooked and tender. The garlic Parmesan sauce is good. The sauce that comes with it was ranch dressing. I asked for an extra side of Cajun dill, it's an extra $0.50. Yet there's no charge for our waters. read more

This was a last minute late lunch with friends-I had a side Caesar salad and steak frites. I have to say that their steak was the best I have ever had. It was tender -melt in your mouth tender and had a delicious flavor. Dipping sauce was amazing!!! Their Caesar salad was OK. The dressing actually could've been a little thicker and more flavorful -but the steak more than made up for the lack luster salad. My friend had a flatbread pizza and she took most of it home. It was huge and filled with tons of veggies. She said it was really good. I'm not usually in this area or I would definitely be back. read more

I have not been here since they changed owners and renovated. I met a friend here last night. They are located right off Van Dyke between 22 and 23 mile roads. There is plenty of parking. The ambiance is great. The service was excellent. The food and drink so/so. My friend and I were all set to enjoy a margarita so we both bought one. My friend laughed when I complained about the glass the margarita came in. I'm into the entire experience when it comes to drinks and being served in a proper glass adds to the experience. We both agreed the margarita's tasted like water. No flavor at all. I didn't want to play a guessing game on how to improve the margarita so I asked to replace the margarita with a glass of wine. My friend took the server's advice and added an extra shot of tequila in her's. She could taste the tequila afterwards but the actual 'flavor' of a margarita still wasn't there...plus she was charged an extra $7.00 for the extra shot of liquor. I must admit I'm still laughing about her being charged $16.00 for a bad margarita. I'm mean. The taco's were tasty but very salty! The meat was plentiful but very, very salty. I ordered the Truffle Burger delivered, what a huge let down. It had NO TRUFFLE AIOLI and no sauce whatsoever. Absolutely the dryest burger I've ever had and I ordered it 'medium' which was also wrong, showed up well done. This place is alright. I come here a lot but it has some issues. The beer list is terrible. It is dominated by dessert beers and incredibly high abv beers. I look for mid abv IPAs, not a lot of options here. Also, I often receive beers that don't taste at all like the beer that I ordered or are clearly skunked or spoiled. The music can be uncomfortably loud. The truffle burger is very good. They have some very pretty bar tenders. read more

The mango jalapeño one I actually didnt finish because the taste was just off putting. But they have a pretty big tap list, i think like 40 beers. Our server Nicole was really nice and prompt. We got food from the late night menu since we were there late and it was pretty good! The pretzel is gigantic and we couldnt finish it. I like the 3 dips it comes with. Took the dad to T&B for a try of their Sunday brunch, it was a late Father's Day family meal. Definitely solid, same as my dinner experiences here. Waitresses have been friendly and attentive! Plus!! Lately staffs seem uninterested and grumpy. I got corn beef hash and it was made right, I think it needed a little more cooked up onions and peppers cause I wasn't finding it. Good meat tender and flavorful and perfectly cooked potatoes in it. Had a bite of my sister's French toast and that was definitely delicious too.
