I was not greeted and multiple employees walked by me and didn't say a word. The portions were small and just thrown together. Ordered a chicken tenders kid meal with apples and BBQ sauce and when I checked it before I left it had honey mustard and cheese sticks. My glass was still empty when she brought this out. 5 minutes later she came by the table going to check on another table and my glass was still empty. I ordered the Cajun Chicken and Shrimp and it was spicy, which I expected but difficult to eat without a drink. She finally did come back to ask how things are we had to ask for a refill on my glass of water. After slowly going to the back and then coming back to another table nearby she stopped by the table to say "I'll get you that water now," several minutes later she brought me another glass of water. I tried to go ahead at this time and pay our bill so we could leave, as I figured it would take her an eternity to bring the check. I was going to use the tablet on the table to pay and click on pay I got an error saying that this tablet couldn't recognize what table I was at and I was unable to pay. So we waited for our waitress. She finally came over about 10 minutes later and gave us the ticket. I had taken our kids to the bathroom and my wife told her about the extra $1.99 charge for playing a game on the tablet which our kids, didn't do because we sat the tablet facing away from them on the inside of the table. She said she would adjust it and walked away, she came back 5-10 minutes later to say I have to get my manager to adjust the bill as I can't take this off. She walked away again. I took our kids out to the car so my wife could wait it took about another 5 minutes to get the bill adjusted. After this experience with a server who didn't really care about her job, we will not be returning to this location. We live 5 minutes from this restaurant and have frequented two other times since buying our house last year in April. **Side note every time she would come to our table, it seemed like an undue burden that she had to wait on us. I am not sure if this was because we had 3 kids, because we didn't order drinks, we only ordered water mainly because I didn't want to spend $12 on drinks for my whole family, or what exactly was wrong. We felt like she provided better service to the other 2-3 tables that she had in the same area. We felt the entire time that the service for our family was not the same. Food: Cajun Chicken and Shrimp with Garlic Mashed potatoes: The center of the potatoes were cold while the outside and bottom were scalding hot, due to the cast iron it was served on. The chicken and shrimp was good, I am not sure why the onions were served on the bottom, with the chicken on top, instead of on top of the chicken but they were okay as well. The chicken was good and cooked well was very juicy. Fiesta Lime chicken: The chicken was good and flavorful, the rice that goes with this was very dry, but had good flavor. WTF, right? A Yelp review of an Applebee's? Bear with me! I recently took a road trip from Chicago to Ft. Myers Beach, Florida and one of my overnight stops along the way was in Valdosta, Georgia. I'd been eating crappy drive through food for the entire trip and really just wanted someplace that had a bar I could sit down at, order a few cocktails and eat something that didn't come out of a paper bag. Hence, Applebee's. It was right across the street from my hotel :uberconvienant after sitting behind the wheel of a car for 10 hours: and they had an open bar. Score! Jeremy was my bartender. Can't believe I remember his name? That's how awesome he was. Friendly, but not overly so. Heavy handed, but in a respectable corporate owned restaurant kind of way. Last night I dined at the location on St.Augustine Rd. Before I begin, I would like to state that this location at this time was NOT understaffed. On multiple occasions, employees were grouped together, conversing, having a great time. I wish I could have said the same for myself. After bringing out our drinks, the server had mentioned he would be back with straws. 10 minutes later and still nothing. I had to flag down a server who was not tending to our area. We had ordered the Neighborhood Nachos as an appetizer, it looked fantastic on the menu. However, when I received the dish, the beef was COMPLETELY cold to the touch. And I mean it felt refrigerated and not reheated. I asked for a remake and for no Pico or Guacamole (as to be sure they made it fresh and not simply scrape off the unwanted toppings). We received back the SAME EXACT plate of Nachos. There are even visible pieces of the left over Pico. The most embarrassing part being it was the manager herself who brought the dish back to us. The bacon cheeseburger I received was, hands down, the driest burger patty I had ever eaten. I was feeling the tip to the server dropping drastically as the night went on. I decided to settle on a 3.00 tip after witnessing my server walking around outside when we waited 20 minutes for the bill. Let's face it. You don't go to Applebee's because you're craving an awesome meal. Food is mediocre at best and when you add tax and tip, you're money is almost always better spent elsewhere. That being said, if you can take advantage of the specials, it may be worth a visit. The deals vary depending on the location but you can expect there to be drink specials and deals on appetizers throughout the week. Monday night was 39 cent wing night with $5.99 domestic 50 oz pitchers. That's $1.50 a beer--hard to beat. The traditional wings are a little dry but the boneless are pretty good. The rest of the week features 1/2 price apps after 10p and a bunch of ladies night specials on Wednesdays. Service was pretty slow. Bartender seemed to know what he was doing. read more

Called the manager who really didn't care. Decided to try a take out order today. I was told that it would be 20 minutes. Arrived and waited another 20 minutes. Finally went inside- 4-5 employees sitting around and having a good time. Had to wait for someone to run my credit card but food had apparently been sitting around for awhile because when I got home the chicken was COLD. We are done with this Applebee's. Although we are not big fans of chain restaurants , I have to say we had the best experience tonight. Our server, Brad, was AWESOME! quick to serve and asked questions before we even knew to ask them. We had the "taste" of the pretzels and beer cheese (yum) , the app sampler , and the peppercorn crusted sirloin (lighter menu- not that great). If I could give negative stars, I would. DO NOT GO HERE FOR SERVICE OR FOOD!! STAY AWAY!! Unfortunately they're the only bar open until 1am in Valdosta. The problem here is that you get a smaller portion. I was fine with paying the regular price for the full portion. This wasn't cool. 2) I ordered garlic fries. These were delivered to me cold, Seriously, COLD. We sent these back to get a new batch made. When they came out, I asked for ketchup and water. Sitting at the bar, I could clearly see the bartender NEVER made an attempt to get either. I ended up going to another table and taking a bottle of ketchup. I was finally able to get a glass of water from another bartender. 3) A friend sat next to me at the bar and ordered buffalo wings. They came with no blue cheese, although it was ordered. He asked for blue cheese and it took at least 5 minutes and asking 2 different bartenders to bring it out. The wings are cold by now. With 3 wings left on the plate, the bartender comes and takes the plate, WITHOUT HIM BEING FINISHED!! He tried to tell her he wasn't finished, by this time she'd put dirty napkins on top of the wings. She then asked if he wanted the plate of wings back. Really? That was a slap in the face. 4) A guy came in just before last call and ordered the 2 for 1 beer. He got 1 beer and the bartender yelled last call. He paid his bill. He asked the bartender for the 2nd beer and she said, we had last call 15 minutes ago. He explained that he ordered on time and she never brought the 2nd beer THAT HE'D ALREADY PAID FOR. The bartender decided to go ahead and get him the beer but this was just unreal. This night was like a scene from one of those fix my restaurant shows where everything went bad, with horrible service. **I know someone who worked there and quit because it was nasty and an awful place to work!!** My friend told me NOT to eat there because of the bugs/roaches in the kitchen. I did go visit her OFTEN while she was working and the managers always looked really pissed off. The other servers shared that same expression while walking around. Their motto is "You aren't here to have fun." (Compare to Outback's policy of "You should have fun while at work.") The food is not that great. The kitchen could not care less how your food ends up tasting like. The type of people who go to this particular Applebees are not people who tip. So, the servers (who make $2.13 per hour) are not the most excited to serve you. Because they know that you probably won't tip but like $2 (which is just insulting, unless your bill was a total of $10) Keep in mind, I knew several servers and they were all good at their jobs. I deliver for Uber. I went to pick up food for my customer from the Applebees on Perimeter in Valdosta. The food wasn't ready so I waited 10 more minutes. When the order was ready the food was practically falling out. Couldn't even carry it without the large order of food spilling out. All I asked for was a bag and the lady at the car-side to go screened I'm busy I don't have time to get you a bag and walked off I asked two other people and they said they couldn't give me a bag because she told them not to and she is in charge of carside and I don't have another order I went to look for someone else to give me a bag and I can hear the same lady in the kitchen cussing and carrying on about me asking for a bag and talking about me. I asked several employees for the manager but was told the manager is making food and can't come out. Finally someone gave me a bag. It's just a bag! I could have easily cancelled this order but I didn't want my customer to suffer. This was the craziest thing I've ever had to deal with at a restaurant. I finally got the attention of the bartender when she saw my card out to pay for my beer. So last weekend being back home, we ask decided to meet there, it had been remodeled so decided to give it another shot. Nope, nothing has changed. Went here last night after attending the Winnersville Classic. I haven't been to an Applebee's in a few years, but I was starving after the football game. Needless to say I was completely disappointed with their menu. Talk about Not vegan friendly at all. I mean seriously, it's 2016, and the only thing on the menu I could order was chips and salsa and a side salad. The side salt was pitiful. A large plate of lettuce, with a tiny splash of tomatoes and cucumbers. Smh...as you can guess, I won't be eating at Applebee's again anytime soon. I wouldn't recommend anyone come to this location. The service started horrible when we walked through the door. We should have left then but my friend was adamant on staying. The hostesses seemed to be annoyed by my request to sit at a booth by the window. She claimed that servers couldn't be double sat...so much for an enjoyable customer experience. Soooo we were forced to sit my a noisy crowd behind us. Our server was Kierstan who was horrible and lacked knowledge of the menu. She also seemed to be annoyed when I asked about some of the drinks on the menu. At this point I was frustrated so I quickly ordered. The chips and salsa were stale, I ordered the salmon entree which surprisingly wasn't that bad at all. Now, time to pay and leave. I was so shocked that kierstan short changed me by .89cents. Okay so it's .89cents no big deal. She called it jiggle change and that no one likes it in there pockets and she walked off!! I immediately walked out the door. I would not recommend this place to anyone. You're probably better off going to chili's right now the road.
