I started this review in 2016 and had forgotten about it in my "saves" so I'm finishing it as it is warranted years later or not. Came here with my gf for dinner as it's what she wanted. My dinner consisted of dry chicken & flavorless potatoes however the onions and shrimp were not too bad. Both our meals had small portions. Side salad decent. Now, I didn't mind coming here on occasion because they had my favorite beer on draft even though I never had cared for Applebee's food in any of the four states I have tried them. The food taste just isn't there. Falls short of what you'd expect or tastes like a frozen meal. This night I was informed that they no longer have my beer of choice. I said to the waitress that I want whatever they replaced it with because I know they didn't get rid of it for no other reason. She brought me the crappiest IPA ever! Like the world doesn't have enough of those already. Throughout the evening the waitress just was going through motions. The place was full of very young employees one of which was in the middle of the dining area complaining of another who had thrown water on him and cussing over an argument they had. The middle of the dining area! I have never had good food at Applebee's. Now with getting rid of my one reason to tolerate going there and the completely unprofessional ways of the staff I have not been back nor plan on it ever. read more

Oh Yuma... Cannot expect much out of you. I used to like this chain when I was younger... great happy hour deals on drinks and food.... then I grew up and expanded my tastes while Applebee's just seemed to stay on the same subpar level. But I was driving through the area and planned on meeting for dinner with a friend who lives there, her suggestion was here. First impression... just like every other Applebee's. I can deal, I thought. The menu had expanded and changed since last time I visited one of these... I opted for a shrimp wrap with a cup of french onion (I used to be obsessed with it). Food came, the tortilla was the rubbery kind, eww. Soup was okay, the best part of the meal, but the cheese was not melted all the way which was disappointing. Service? While I understand most people who work at these places are either in school, in between jobs, etc... I mean I used to waitress while in school myself. Meh. Ordered "curbside." We were there at the designated time but the food ended up 20 min. late. Four other people and I ended up standing inside, waiting. It troubled me to see the kitchen staff inappropriately dressed, no hair nets, long hair dangling over plates. I noticed that sides (baked potato, mac & cheese, etc) were not taken from a serving tray. Instead, individual servings were microwaved in plastic bags then put on plates. Is that how it is everywhere now? Food sealed in plastic just "warmed up" and put on plates in restaurant kitchens? read more

TERRIBLE!! We came in at approx 8:20 pm for the "All-You-Can Eat Riblets and Chicken Tenders." Obviously there was some confusion on who would wait on us, we had numerous wait staff and NO ONE could get our food out to us, or hot for that matter. Neither of our 'iced teas' had any ice and getting a refill seemed impossible. It took approx 20-25 minutes to refill our plates every time we asked for more. Keep in mind, they only "allow" 3 small chicken strips at a time. Come on Applebee's, if you're going to serve "All-You-Can-Eat" then be prepared for guests to eat "all they can!" This was in NO WAY worth the $12.99 spent for 6 very small chicken strips, a handful of riblets and an hour and a half spent waiting for our cold food. Very disappointed. I'm a sucker for a good deal & I must admit I'm a huge fan of their 2 for $20 deal. You get an appetizer and two entrees for $20. You'd think that they'd skimp on the quality, taste, or portions but surprisingly they don't. Usually they have this special for a limited time. However, I've noticed it as a permanent addition to their menu, which is a great alternative. For their appetizers I've tried the spinach & artichoke dip, boneless buffalo wings, cheese sticks, and their new spicy queso blanco. All of them are good choices depending on what you're in the mood for. As for entrees my favorite is their steak with baked potato or mash (both great choices) and steamed vegetables. Again, you wouldn't think applebees= awesome steak. However, I've ordered it a dozen times at different locations and it has been consistently tasty! Great seasoning, juicy, and tender. It's crazy that it's coming from Applebees!! I always have leftovers and it still tastes equally as good the second time around. The newest one I've tried is their provolone stuffed meatballs with fettuccine. It's in a creamy tomato sauce and I was pleasantly surprised. In addition to this great deal, they also have great happy hour specials on appetizers and drinks. Went on a Wednesday and they had $2.00 Long Island Ice Teas. They forgot the tea part...lol. But good stuff :) Thursdays they have Apple Martinis for $3.00. My bf drank a bunch of them and blamed it on me :( Sheesh. But apparently they were good! Last reason why I love this place so much...my bf (*sigh* notice a pattern forming already) apparently dropped his wallet under the table after dinner one night. I was not impressed with their Curbside/Carside To Go, The waitress came out without my receipt and did not even know what my total was. She had to go back inside and get my receipt. When I returned to my daughter's house, the item I ordered was not very eye appealing, did not have all the items listed on the menu and was so over spiced with pepper that I couldn't eat it. While waiting for our food a person was using a broom vigorously next to our table kicking in the dust. We asked him to move and he just went over to another table to do he same thing. According to the Arizona Health Code 6-501.12 Cleaning, Frequency and Restrictions. (A) The PHYSICAL FACILITIES shall be cleaned as often as necessary to keep them clean. (B) Cleaning shall be done during periods when the least amount of FOOD is exposed such as after closing. This requirement does not apply to cleaning that is necessary due to a spill or other accident. 6-501.13 Cleaning Floors, Dustless Methods. (A) Except as specified in ¶ (B) of this section, only dustless methods of cleaning shall be used, such as wet cleaning, vacuum cleaning, mopping with treated dust mops, or sweeping using a broom and dust- arresting compounds. I mentioned it to the manager who show concern but did not know the rule. Every time someone came out of the kitchen door it sounded like someone let out a loud whistle. Very, very annoying. On our way through Yuma, we realized that we were hungry, and looked around for a place to eat. We saw an Applebee's, shrugged, and pulled in. We were pleasantly surprised. We've both been to different Applebee's locations before, and were mostly unimpressed, but this one was better than the norm. Carlos, our server, was really nice. The food we ordered was pretty good (a steak and the Napa chicken). The wait was pretty decent, no complaints there. Overall, we were pleased. read more

This is the second and last time we visit this location. When in route to SD from Phoenix, we found that this was a nice halfway point to stretch and eat. Last time the food was not too great, but our server was nice and we enjoyed the visit. This time, the food was again mediocre but the service was terrible. No one was there to greet us; we stood at the entrance for 10 minutes before anyone came around and sat us. Our serve thereafter was never again around unless we waved him down. He and all the other servers gathered at the table closest to the kitchen where they sat and talked. He was rude and forgot to put in my sons order. It was absolutely terrible. My son and I are staying at a hotel next door. We ordered online for pickup. Once the order was brought back to our room, we discovered that the utensils were missing so my son went back to get a package with a fork, knife and a napkin - hardly useful since we ordered soup and pretzels. So we unwrapped the order - soups and the dips were all stone cold - not lukewarm but right out of the frig! When I called to speak to the manager, she offered a credit for next time (we r traveling through for 1 night so not an option)or she would remake our order. So we could make another trip back. We went on senior discount night and they were busy (yes the discount applied to our party of 4) so the wait for the meal to come out was a bit longer than normal but we were not in a hurry. If you want fast food go next door to Carl's Junior. My BBQ hamburger was good and the fries hot, I enjoyed it. My wife liked her fish and chips (we lived in England for a few years and "she knows good fish and chips") the 3rd member of our party got a BBQ burger with out the bun and got extra veggies on it, he said he enjoyed it. His wife got a salad and it initially came with chicken but she had ordered shrimp. They replaced it quickly. The waiter was attentive and offered tea refills several times. He attended to the bill quickly. I deducted one star for the salad mixup. Tables could be kept up better, but really any restaurant of this style usually has issues with "clammy/sticky" tables. Good eats. We had the two for $20. Both of us had the side salad, it was yummy. Hubby had the 3 cheese chicken pene. I had the chicken strips with honey mustard dipping sauce. We went on New Years eve and the place was packed. They told us the wait would be 30 min But if we went into the bar it was 1st come 1st served. We lucked out and got a table right away. This is the second time we have been here, and this is the second time in a row that a steak has been over-cooked. The rest of the dish was good, though the flavor was lacking and the salt was a tad heavy. We didn't see much of our server, and he did eventually get our refills...
