I could not even eat it., the waitress was kind enough to send it back to the kitchen, neither head chef or sous chef check tasted the shrimp mixture to verify my complaint, they just remade the omelet filled with the same SALTY mixture and sent it back out to be served. read more

Thanksgiving dinner, definitely wish our experience would have been better. Our service was not great our server clearly was new. Basic things were forgotten, were we had to micro manage our own service. Our herb crust prime rib came out rare, as we were not asked how we wanted the steaks cooked, plates were taken back, then when the plates came back out, they were inconsistent, it looked like good was just thrown on the plates,no gravy on the mashed potatoes, we asked for the the gravy and it never came out, presentation of the plate was not the same we asked for water and 15 minutes later our server asked if she ever brought the water out. I think the lack of training is the blame for tonight's dinner. Wish we could have gotten a discount for all the inconveniences and inconsistencies I'm leaving out additional details. An hour later our meals still hadn't arrived and when they did.... I realized we should have just ordered tacos like everyone else. We just hadn't planned on celebrating our multi decades Wedding Anniversary eating off paper on a plastic basket. My entree was barely warm. What was Ironic is that the potatos beneath the dish were very freshly fried and hot and delicious. His Gumbo shouldn't have arrived tepid! Gator Bites were okay. First time on our anniversary and the service by "B" was spot on. She is so very nice and very professional. The ambiance was as well nice because well, we were the only ones there besides one other couple on this New Year's Day. I had asked for a tv to be turned down as I was not interested in it he football game, but would rather hear their nice music playing. And, they turned the tv off altogether. What a nice surprise! As far as the food, we started with the gumbo which was a 5/5 as well as the appetizer of fried shrimp and coleslaw. 5/5 Yummy and for dinner we had the (1) Shrimp and Crab cakes which rank a 2/5 - had a hard time finding the crab and the binder was not holding together well. Disappointing... as it fell apart. And, (2) we as well had the Ribeye (5/5) with mashed potatoes and mushrooms which was very delicious. I was here today for a birthday lunch. There were 9 of us total, and only 2 actually enjoyed their meals. I ordered one of the more pricey items on the menu. One of my favorite things, and something I frequently order is crab cakes. These were shrimp and crab cakes. They should have called them bread crumb cakes. There wasn't even enough shrimp and crab in these to hold them together. I never saw any shrimp, and there was only a few small strings of crab. The flavor was great, but seriously it was ALL bread crumbs. One other person at our table ordered the same thing, and agreed that it was all bread. Very disappointed, especially with that price tag. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we will not be back. read more

This place changes names more often than a lot of people change underwear. The new owner is trying but it isn't as successful or as good as his two other ventures. We went for a birthday party. Service was slow even for a week night and the place wasn't busy. Food was ehhh at best and I was able to sample a little of everything. Way too expensive for what it was. Might give it a shot again if it manages to stay open in a few years. Give them time to work out kinks. read more

Yelp asked if I would recommend this place. This is from my Facebook post on a local page from July 2023: The empty parking lot should have been a warning sign. First time trying this place. Both of the entrees we ordered were meat and potatoes. Any kind of vegetable had to be ordered on the side. My husband's steak was nicely seasoned and cooked to the requested temperature. They set the steak on top of his crispy fries so the fries were mostly a soggy mess. My short rib was supposed to have Cotija cheese but it didn't. They used Queso Fresco instead because they were out of Cotija and that explains the lack of flavor overall. The short rib was tender and had decent flavor but then I got to the middle by the bone and the meat wrapped around the bone and the bone were refrigerator cold. Mashed potatoes were flavorless. I ordered corn as a side. Zero flavor. Tasted like water corn is boiled in but some of the corn was charred. That's when I asked for Cotija only to be told they were out and had Queso Fresco instead. The poor waitress told us about their promotion and repeatedly said "if you come back" like she knows people don't come back. She did the same to the couple next to us. Then she handed us the red envelopes explaining a promotion. And that's when I realized why this food was sub par. Takos and Beer is the only good restaurant out of the three listed in my opinion. Rave to the waitress doing her best. Very polite young lady. And rave that they did discount my cold short rib meal by 50%. But, I won't be back... We absolutely love The Hills! This cute restaurant is tucked in a country club, right in front of a golf course. The staff is so friendly, especially Mena! The food is FANTASTIC and the patio overlooking views of the golf course is our favorite place to sit. It is a bit pricier for the Yuma Regional area, but you get a bang for your buck. I've been here before. (As per my previous review on this restaurant) Starters: Nachos - it's not Nachos. It's thin sliced Potatoes. With canned Cheese sauce and Chili. With diced Tomato & Onion with Feta. Pretty low cost plate that is over charged for canned ingredients. Mains: Hubby had the Platter. Which consists of deep fried items. The cat fish tasted like soap- not sure why. Could have been the oil. Not sure if they have a separate fryer dedicated to fish as most of the items on the menu consisted of Catfish. (Had to have this item taken off the bill as it was just no good) I had the surf and turf burger. It wasn't bad. Yet, over priced. $16.95. With no side. Waffle fries could have been included as a side with any other side as an option for an up charge. The Mac and cheese. Was so salty. Also. Only half the bowl was full. For $5.99(give or take) I had this removed from the bill too as it was just too salty. The gumbo: I am still trying to figure out if this dish is made in house or boil in the bag. Either way it is on the menu. If other ingredients comes from #10 cans, maybe this comes in a bag. It wasn't bad, but from all the other food being not so great. I didn't feel like eating that. It's winter time. It's cold. I don't drink. I think Hot chocolate would be a good option. They can turn it into Cadillacs for mornings and add Baileys for the nights for the evening drinkers. I had to order a coffee (which had to be brewed) for something hot to drink. Eddies older menu was better. It was more elegant and it was the only restaurant i didn't have an issue with. He replaced his old menu with a plastic laminated menu with deep fried options and over priced sides and mains, without sides. The menu does not work for the kitchen as we had waited 45 + minutes for our food. There was no expo either which is not good for a restaurant on a Friday night during winter season. I will not complain about the service. Our waitress did the best she could with all the large tables. Her section was too big for her to run alone on a Friday night without any bussers to help them or any food runners. Every good restaurant has bussers to help turn tables quicker, not leave dirty dishes on tables and for waitresses to focus on their service. Eddie arrived late, with propane for the outside heaters. Everyone rejoiced on the patio when he showed up. I expected him as an owner to step into his kitchen and help out the cooks. More like the Gastro Dud ... went to dinner last night as part of a large group of 15. Ordered fish and chips ... adequate nothing to write home about. Husband ordered NY Strip rare and was served more mid rare. The outer grilled area had a grey look which was not appetizing ... grill marks were so-so. Other party next to us also had a NY and didn't seem that pleased either. We had to request steak knives as they were not brought immediately with the meal. Person who had the shrimp tamale was pleased with theirs. Their comment on the masa for the tamal was that it was more like a polenta consistency and taste. Definitely not a place on my list to return unless forced via other circumstances such as a group event planned by others Of course sitting on the patio overlooking the golf course is always a plus, especially in the evening, but we were inside. Maybe burgers and salads were better, although I did not hear any good comments elsewhere from the group regarding their meals. Waitress was friendly. Regrettably did not take photos. It's always a nice experience eating out on the golf course. We decided to try the new restaurant and was pleasantly greeted by friendly wait staff who ushered us to our table on the patio. Drinks arrived timely, but food took a while. Pastrami sandwiches were not impressive whatsoever, in fact, one was burned to a crisp and flipped over on the plate 'decent side up' so we wouldn't notice. Burger and fish tacos were good, but two tacos for $15 with no sides seemed overpriced. The menu items summed up in one word: underwhelming read more
