Gave him a call, explained what was going on, and he helped confirm my worst fears (yup, they were in the soffits). 20 minutes later and I could see them noticeably decreased and the nest gone. Checked again the next day (and the next, and the next) and the yellow jackets have disappeared. Kids and I can roam the yard freely without fear of getting stung.
