They had a good selection of nice trees and the prices were reasonable based on our experience the last few years. The people were very friendly. They offered directions around and where to ask if we needed help. They offered to wrap the tree and carry it to our truck if we wanted. They even offered us a complimentary bag of popcorn. It looks like they had a nice area for wreaths if you wanted that. It looks like they had some rides available for little kids and there was a roaring bonfire. Our highlight was meeting with the manager "Smokey"! He gave us a nice tour of the trees and was up for pets at any moment.

Many of the speciality vendors will offer you samples of their products before you buy. I particularly like Cesars Cheese. They are a great local cheesemaker and have the best string cheese I have ever had. And please support the local businesses on main Street while you are there. Get a coffee or a sandwich and keep browsing. If you like locally produced products, then you will be happy that you came to the West Bend farmers market.

There is…read morea home grown rule at this market and if someone complains you are inspected and can be kicked out. I'm a vendor there so know. And yes some people HAVE been kicked out. Personally we buy used boxes we put our zucchini in and often even use them on the display. The boxes fit in our cooler better than the black crates. As far as the fruit, that is 1 exception. There is 1 or 2 vendors that have permission to get fruit from the Michigan produce markets while that fruit is not in season in Wisconsin.

Good food, options abound for those who want breakfast, brunch, or lunch. My weekly purchases are driven by the season, the hard-working vendors, and my fellow shoppers. From berries and lettuce in the spring to squash and kale in the fall, this market never fails me. I do notice that some days I come with the solid shopping list in mind, only to be inspired by the fresh produce to change my weekly menus. Yesterday I got fresh eggs, aged cheese, radishes, green beans, mushrooms, cauliflower, a brisket sandwich, Flowers, and other odds and ends. I'd also make a specific shout out to the Door County fruit vendor that never fails to bring a smile to my face.

We love our little local farmers market! We live just down the street, so lucky for us this one is…read morewalkable. It's held on Saturdays from 8am-noon, mid-June through Mid-October. Though a small market, it offered all local, high-quality products like fruits and veg, jams, honey, cheeses, flowers, meats, and baked goods. Plus, we always grab something from the prepared food vendors on site (which seem to rotate), like a breakfast burrito or churro! On our last visit, they had a nice little coffee pop up and I really enjoyed the latte. At the south end of the market, they have an area where you'll always find live music and a handful of seats to sit and enjoy. There's also various special events sprinkled throughout the season, like a children's reading time, and animal meet-and-greets! Overall, such a great community feel here. Love saying hey to neighbors, seeing all the cute pups that come through, and supporting local here.

Last night was the first Night on the Farm and we made sure we had our tickets. This time there…read morewas a new food truck, Mr. P's Grilled Cheese and La Duc's Ice Cream inside the store, both of which we had to try. the options of grilled cheese are interesting and the two we tried were super delish! They were Mac Daddy Sandwich and Soo-Eee! We 5 friends shared and tried them along with the tomato soup that comes with it. I am ready to try the other flavors at the next event. La Duc's offered the Ice Cream Sandwich which is two large chocolate chip cookies with a delicious custard center. It was solidly frozen and we let it sit for a few minutes to soften up a bit. We then broke it up with spoons and ate it in yummy chunks which is just how it should be eaten, IMHO. The evening was packed with families with infants, children, parents, friends, and all ages. This is what a summer evening should be. Kids have a large sand play area and lots of grassy areas to run wild. And the fresh products for sale inside the store are always top quality and worth purchasing. My only glitch is how loud the music is, which negates the ease of conversations. We bring a table and card games and yelling to each other is needed to converse. We sit away from the band but it is still a bit loud. Last night the music was varied in genre and fun.
