The wait time is horrible, if the website says 1hr wait... It is more like 2-3hrs.

While I respect that Dr. Vale is a knowledgable, capable, and direct individual, his lack of diligence and awareness to customer privacy is shocking. I went to visit the Appletree Spadina clinic today with a personal/private ailment and he basically announced my issue to the entire waiting room and clinic with the volume of his voice. I am absolutely mortified and I feel like my confidentiality has been completely violated. The support staff and pharmacist seemed professional. read more

If you want your appointments canceled, this is the service to use, otherwise, there are others who do not cancel. I've tried 3 times. Twice doctor did not call, no reason given, no response from staff. and 3rd time, doctor canceled because "form was not filled out" excuse, when website shows it is. Horrible and unprofessional. Waste of time. Did a search on md reviews of half of their doctors and a lot of them have horrible reviews, with everyone complaining of rudeness, lack of knowledge, misdiagnosis and other other issues. Not sure what the other doctors are like, but had a terrible experience with the Asian lady doctor. She was also cold and blunt, and talked to me like I was stupid. I had to take off my pants for my visit, but instead of leaving the room (like a normal doctor would), she just sat in the room while I took off my clothes... then proceeded to ask me all my medical history questions while I sat there with no pants on. Finally she told me to lie down, but my pants were a bunch around my boots, so she said she'd leave the room (which she should have done in the first place), but before I could finish saying "wait, don't open the door yet, I want to put my pants back on first" she had opened the door really wide and everyone walking around in the hall could see me half naked. Which they did. It was pretty annoying. But it was more annoying when she left and did the same thing, except she left the door open for even longer. Terrible!! Why do these half assed clinics even bother existing. First impression: weird entrance, as you have to go down a set of stairs, that go directly into a dead wall, full of condoms. They tried to build floor to ceiling shelves, that ended up looking like a grade 8 wood working project. It also doesn't help that they have basically no inventory, so there are literally just a few strategically spaced items on each shelf, that are already gathering dust. The inventory of this 'pharmacy' is beyond poor. You could find more pharmaceutical drugs on the homeless dudes hanging out outside the door. Walk-in clinic? Whaaaaat?! You're greeting by a computer monitor. And about 6 different posters, all saying different things: 'CHECK IN HERE' "CHECK IN WITH PHARMACIST" "2 HOUR WAIT" .. "MUST HAVE VALID HEALTH CARD WITH MATCHING TELEPHONE #' ... It was just a table with a monitor and a clusterfuck of posters taped all over the table, monitor and walls. I didn't even SEE a physical doctor in this place. No one walking around with a clip board. Nothing. Self check in would be awesome if the computer worked. Need assistance? Hahahaha sorry! You're shit outta luck. The only help is with the "pharmacist" and he's busy chatting on his cell phone, with his back facing the cash. What the hell is this!?! Maaaaan, this place made me angry. Never again. Don't make the mistake by even walking in. I ended up walking out, and going down to the nasty clinic at Spadina /Queen (and waited 20 min to be seen). There's a lot of whining here about what is a perfectly serviceable clinic. Oh the decor isn't what you want? It's a CLINIC. The computer monitor is hard to use? It's a push-button monitor like the one that exists in every Appletree everywhere. Oh there are too many posters on the wall? Again: it's a clinic, not a day spa. What are you here for? Are you here for quality shelving? You're probably in the wrong place. And you may want to reexamine your priorities. Cityplace residents judge this place based on their own ridiculous desires, which includes the staff - who are perfectly fine at their jobs. Yeah the nurse isn't super chatty, but he's your nurse, not your barber! He does a perfectly good job. And Dr. Vale is definitely no-nonsense. He's young, but cheerful and efficient. He asks pertinent questions and yeah he might cut you off if you start babbling but guess what - it's not his job to listen to your stories. It's his job to see you and treat you. And he certainly did that for me. I came in with a cyst in my wrist and he went "sure, let's confirm that by drawing out some fluid". This after a previous doctor made me wait six months for a four in the morning MRI. And to the commenter who complained that the Dr. referred you to an ER - if you have immediate pain, that's EXACTLY WHERE YOU SHOULD BE. The clinic is for checkups and general family health, they can't deal with immediate surgeries or give significant care. If you are actually in pain, you don't go to your family doctor. In short, these reviews say more about the expectations of the kind of people who live around here than it does about the staff and the doctor. read more

Provided a survey like most other doctors, such as whether I drive, what I eat, how often I work out, what substances I take, etc When checked whether I drink, and checked that I drive, he assumed I drink and drive. Threatened to call the city on me if I don't quit my 'bad habits'. I am so so disappointed. I went to the apple tree at spadina ave and before booking an appointment, I made it clear with one of the employer of apple tree regarding the cost of the TB test, since I am an international student, mine was not covered under guard me insurance. So I was told, I will have to pay 77$ for the consultation and 40$ each for the tb skin test. But when I went there, the receptionist told me that I will have to pay $77 for all the 4 visit ( 1st= $77+$40 for doc visit and first injecting And 2nd=$77 just for reading and 3rd= $77+$40 for doc visit and second injecting and 4th= $77 for the reading) I was shocked to hear that. I called the customer care service thrice to ask for the cost of the tb test and each time all the three difft employer told me I will Only have to pay $77 once and then 40$ each for the steps, but when I told them what the receptionist told me, they are saying they don't know and it's up to them, whatever the receptionist saying it's final. Like really!!!!! the one at reception at apple tree at spadina ave was very rude too. very disappointed. will soon be making a YouTube video on this experience and I am telling u guys, be very aware of being scammed by such clinics. read more

Last night, it was 6pm when I decided my eye needed to be looked at. All of the other walk-ins in my area were closed, or full because you needed an appointment. This was the only place that was actually available in my area. In mind, there are only 3 things that matter with a walk in: Cleanliness, Quality of service & Wait Time. 1) This place was very clean (although perhaps a little cluttered in the waiting area), 2) I was lead into a room shortly after arriving, and the doctor was friendly and took the time to actually talk, examine & consider my issue. 3) Yes, I had to wait 45 mins in the room, but honestly, who cares. It's a walk-in. The doctor was alone, and he takes time with every patient. To me, 45 mins is better than a 4 hour wait at emerge. What if the person/people before me had more serious issues that need more time? I'm ok with it. The room I was in was clean and well organised. I didn't feel uncomfortable. Although it helped that I had my partner waiting in there with me. I found this place to be pretty good! I liked that I could sign myself in using their self-hep computer rather than have to fill out paper work or deal with a bored receptionist. Let me say, that I had been to another walk in a few months ago regarding a shot for travelling abroad where the receptionists were actually arguing with each other, and the room where they drew my blood for tests was dirty, and a messy disaster. So I know what a bad walk in is like - THAT place deserves a 1 star. Not this place. I noticed there's alot of people on here complaining about this place and I think most of the reviews are pretty unfair so I felt compelled to share my experience. Because it's in the heart of city place, I think most people that live in city place would never leave a fair review for anything. read more

I want share an incident with everyone about my wife's visit to Apple Tree Medical Group on 4G Spadina Ave. Today when she went to see her family doctor Dr. N Vale for her visit, he shouted at her for missing 7 visits and asked her to pay $120 and never come back to see him again. To her defense she called Apple Tree group and rescheduled her appointment. Now if the apple tree contact center did not update this on his calendar, it's not our mistake and I can prove this by showing phone bill that she did call. She started crying as he was shouting and she called me, I went to the clinic and wanted to speak to the doctor about this. I could hear him saying to his nurse that he does not want to see us. Basically, he does not have the courtesy of confronting us. I am filing a complaint against him for this kind of behavior. I checked the reviews today about him on google and yelp and it seems normal with him and there are plenty of people have said this about him and cutting patients off while they are talking. Beware. Most uncooperative staff I've seen. 1. First time I went in, I signed in and waited a bit for an appointment with the doctor. (The doctor was very nice and professional, this is about the staff). The assistant that took my information down was very nice...until she started mentioning that I had to pay a 15$ co-pay for the appointment. Don't get me wrong, that was not unusual at all. But she mentioned it 5-6 times throughout the 40 minutes I was there. She mentioned it every step of the way, and it was very rude and honestly, stupid. I got fed up with her and said that I would pay after seeing the doctor. She was mentioning so much so that she gave me the impression that she thought I would leave without paying 15 dollars. TERRIBLE.. 2. When calling to get tests results back. I called at 9:00am and the person that answered the phone said it was my responsibility to call the lab and get the results sent to the clinic. I did not know any better, so I did that - to which the lab said they were wrong. So I called back, (around 9:30am) and they said: "OK, we will call the lab after lunch". AFTER LUNCH. It was 9:30AM and they wouldn't even dare to their job. It was appalling. I was extremely disappointed because I really needed to know the results urgently. However, they were SO uncooperative and just plain old rude. The doctors are good! Change the staff. ASAP. read more

I went to see Dr Vale for a nasty cough that kept me from sleeping at night and non-stop coughing in day time due to a cold that I had for more than 2 weeks. The cough got so bad that I couldn't breath when it starts and caused a huge headache. So, I got a spray for my nose, an appointment with a neuro specialist, a heart monitor, a referral for a heart x-ray...wait a minute! Do any of these related to my cough? No! Can I still sleep at night after what he recommended? No! This is the last time I am going here, I felt like I ask for a simple cup of coffee, and all this place did was showed me how to grow the coffee beans, how to pack the beans, what marketing strategy is good to use to sell the coffee beans, how to do JIT and the stock up for merchandizing, and yet when I ask where is my coffee, the answer would be "Go find your own!" I went to another doctor a day after, sat down for 5 minutes, he understood the whole situation was a lung infection because of the weather, cold that I got, and I previously a smoker and now the body is taking this opportunity to heal itself. Come here if your life is in danger, then they can recommend you on what movie is good to watch for the holidays. read more

I selected Dr Noah Vale as my family doctor because Apple Tree Medical was close to me. What a terrible mistake. This young doctor doesnt want to listen to patient's problems. He will only allow you to state one problem per visit, even though he's your family doctor. If you have an upset stomach as well as an infection on your scalp...sorry, but you need to make two trips a week or so apart so this clinic can swipe your card twice. This tendency of Appletree's, and especially Noah Vale's is so extreme that after just 2 minutes of dealing with a patient, Dr Vale will cut you off, even if you are speaking...and he will tell you he has to see the next patient. The entire visit feels like you're sitting in a drive through at Tim Hortons at 8am with dozens of cars behind you blowing their horns....except, Appletree doesn't even have to be that busy to make you feel rushed like that. Without getting into my specific issues.....I asked Dr Vale to perform some blood tests on me which he said were unnecessary....even though I repeatedly told him that I had been suffering for a few years. In 4 visits to Dr Vale, I was not able to convince him to order a blood test. I went to another doctor who order the test, sent me to a specialist and we diagnosed the problem in less than one month...while with Dr Vale it took me 3 months of back and forth to get nowhere. The only thing I achieved during my visits to Appletree was to learn that some doctors are there to take advantage of the system and make money...not to care for your health. We tend to trust doctors and clinics and just assume that they're not like that...but go to Appletree as a patient and you will see the franchise model in action...its all business and money....your health is not an priority. At the end of this experience, I have changed my family doctor from Noah Vale to another doctor who is also very busy...but will not rush you out the door or refuse to look into your health issues because you already used up your "one complaint of the day". Ridiculous wait times. Unhappy with the doctor. Simple renewal of prescription turned into full on monitoring from scratch when I have been seen regularly by another doctor for my condition. Also lectured on birth control prevention for no reason (prescription renewal had nothing to do with it), I'm in my mid 30s, this wasn't a simple question it was a full on lecture, I wonder if the men get that same lecture. The other reviews hold accurate. Others with booked appointments were 1.5hrs later than the time they had booked. Don't waste your time at this location. read more

Worst place ever!!! Came in for a doctors note and waited for 3 hours. The doctor spends about 30-45mins with each patient. This is a walk in clinic not a family doctor. There should be a time frame for each patient. When I finally got in the room I waited another 25 mins. When the doctor walked in he spoke to me for a good 20 mins before I could even tell him what I was there for. Like I said before, WORST PLACE EVER!!! read more

Vale brought me from severe life long self injury and major depression into a new age of enjoying life and being smoke free for the first time in over a decade. Patient and kind and funny and very honest. Takes ample time to address all individual issues in one visit and works like a dog to make sure that specialists actually get back to you. Couldn't recommend him more. For the first time in my life I felt I was being taken seriously and not being patronized. 12/10 best doctor I've ever had hands down. I really hoped the other commenter was exaggerating when I went here. I live in Cityplace, how convenient right? WRONG! First, I just moved to Ontario so I had to pay $70 to see the dr for 5 minutes. This became a huge hassel. The guy couldn't make me change, sent me over to the pharmacy counter (3 steps, he couldnt go?) She couldn't make change, I wound up being shorted a few dollars. Whatever - I knew exactly what two prescriptions I needed and informed the Dr once inside. She then told me to go back around to the pharmacy to purchase them. I did so. Once I paid the pharmacist (more like girl at the counter) then told me that she was actually out of one of the prescriptions entirely and to come back on Monday. She then also informed me she "owed me two pills" in the other box.... Seriously? I just came back to Canada after 7 years in a third world country and TRUST me when I say this was below 3rd world service. So, I return on Monday for my prescriptions. The Dr wanted another $70 to actually give me the injection which I should have received had their stupid pharmacy not informed me AFTER purchase that they didn't have it. Also, she forgot to give me my "owed pills". In addition to this, the only two other customers in there some sketchy halfway-house types. Considering this is in an area filled with young professionals I'm absolutely shocked they are in business. read more

I had a sore throat that lasts for almost a week so I was concerned and went to this clinic near where I live. The wait was not long but I have to use Telemedcine (video calling another doctor from somewhere else). The nurse examined me and wrote down some notes and sent it to the doctor. The doctor did not ask any more questions and just prescribed me with Amoxicilins. He said the symptoms sounds like baterica infection so no further exmination is necessary because that will just waste time. I took the pills and later at night I got a rash all over my body. I went to the other clinic on Sunday at Queen and Spadina, the doctor there patiently took sample saliva from my throat and run tests showing that it is not a bacteria infection, instead, a cold caused by virus. If it is not bacteria infection, Amoxicilins will give you a rash. The rash will go away after I stop taking the medicine and she recommended me to come back for further blood test (they don't have the lab available on Sundays). All I am trying to say is: the doctor I saw (Dr Malistic) is being very unprofessional and irresponsible. The test for bacteria infection is very simple to run and only will take less than 10 minutes as I observed in the other clinic, but he just said it's a waste of time to run any tests and just prescribed me with a wrong medication and made my situation more complicated. My sore throat was just a small illness but it has now turned into a full body rash. This is what this clinic has brought me. If it has been a bit more serious, I will sue them for sure. read more

Convenient location but terrible clinic. I live in Cityplace so unfortunately I have frequented this clinic for the last two years. However, I am fed up and am looking for a new clinic to go to. The medical assistant is cold and often very short with you. I have only seen the one lady there and never had a pleasant experience. I see the regular doctor here on site, Dr. Vale is a young doctor and probably knows his stuff but again very cold and not friendly. Even when the clinic is not busy he is always running out of the room leaving me wondering "are we done?". He makes no effort to listen to anything you have to say and often cuts you off and dismisses your concerns, which is not what you look for in a doctor. As well, it is very evident that he does not want to spend another minute in the room with you and he hurries out without as much as a "have a good day". I have seen many doctors in different clinics as a student and have never been treated this way. I will be finding a clinic further away just to find a new doctor. Other reviewers are correct about the awkwardness of the clinic entrance/decor/whatever. However, I have alwyas had good service at the pharmacy! read more

What a terrible experience. Firstly the place is super cramped and uncomfortable. The receptionist was coughing up a storm and really shouldn't have been working. My parents are from out of town. They are staying with me while my mother receives cancer treatments at Princess Margaret. Dr. Vale expeditiously took her on as a new patient and has followed up with her program with her home Doctor. This is a tonne of work in itself! He also believes in exercise and diet as a path for better health. That's rare even in this day and age, most doctors want to prescribe pills! Anyway everyone there has always been courteous and fast. I had my father transfer to Dr. Vale since he is here as well and he had a complete blood work up. The results were in, in two days and Dr. Vale saw him immediately and started adjusting medication appropriately. The space is tight as you are in Downtown Toronto. space is a luxury. The clinic is operated as efficient as possible and considering that, I am quite impressed. He is young, he is investigative and he is passionate about medicine. I have read some of the responses here and it is too bad people post this stuff. An emergency on your part does not constitute one for someone else! If you would like the pageantry of provincial medicine in a hospital go there. If you plan ahead and take care of your self and would like professional treatment go see Dr. Vale. Leave it to a guy to completely degrade a woman after she expresses being uncomfortable in a situation that required her to be nude. Samuel, I feel sorry for any women who have to interact with you on a daily basis if your attitude towards a lady telling people she felt vulnerable is "it sounds like you are a liar and exaggerate to no end." How do you know?! You don't know what her experience was. You're also an idiot for asking her if she always takes her pants off in front of doctors - obviously her appointment required her to be undressed. It is general etiquette for any doctor/nurse to leave the room when someone is removing their clothes - even in the emergency room! Isabel, that sucks. I would feel the same way as you in that situation (I think many WOMEN would) She definitely should have left the room. I also had a terrible experience with the Asian lady doctor. We went because my boyfriend was having intense stomach pain, he hates the doctor and it took a lot for me to convince him to go. When she came in the room she told me - not asked me - to leave. She did not ask him if he cared or wanted me there; which is the professional thing to do. He's not the type to ask a lot of questions, so it would have been more constructive had I been there, and he was displeased as he would have preferred I stayed too. He ended up leaving with ZERO answers or advice. She stood there coldly and asked him a bunch of questions about his eating habits (he's a pretty athletic guy mind you), she never made eye contact, he said he couldn't even understand what she was asking half the time. Example: "apejiui?" "Pardon?" "DO YOU DRINK APPLE JUICE?" - are you kidding me?! There must be a better way of interacting with patients. The conclusion of her visit was stop eating yogurt.... no insight, no advice, just "Don't eat yogurt" and walked out. I go every now and then as Dr. Vale is my GP. He's nice. I find overall since it is a Walk In clinic/regular clinic combo you are always going to be rushed. Not that I need 30minutes with my doctor but the interaction is always so in & out I always feel like I left forgetting to ask about something I meant to. He does know what he's doing though. If you think you are going to be visiting here often I'd recommend becoming one of his patients so you can actually book appointments and such, not always relying on walking in. read more

This is by far the worst medical Centre I have ever been to! Upon check in, even if you have an appointment, they will tell you to sign in with their automatic sign in system. This system is continuously glitchy, resulting in my waiting 30 mins before someone says "oh wait, who are you and why are you here"? Which reiterates why their online system completely redundant. Even with an appointment, expect average wait times to be 45 minutes. Front desk staff and nursing are absolutely terrible. They do not answer the phone. When you do receive assistance, there is little communication, with regards to wait times, expectations for your procedure or test results. Usually I have to peek my head out of the room and ask for clarification of what is happening for fear of being forgotten. Significant language barriers between staff and patients. Nurses trying to sit patients in rooms where other patients are already sitting. Complete disorganization. Physicians are kind and thorough once you are finally seen. However they spend most of their time with their heads down looking at their iPads, so confused by their nurses disorganization and people management. Facility is not particularly clean either. If you have to use the facilities, then bring your own sanitizer with you. Once you finally get a prescription, don't even start on how long you have to wait for it to be filled. All in all your trip to apple tree medical will take up to two or more hours. It's worth leaving the city or altering your plans to attend another clinic. Worst. Clinic. Ever. There are rarely real drs here. It takes 30 minutes for a "receptionist" to come out from a weird pharmacy with nothing on the shelves. She then says you can see a "online doctor" and points to a computer. She didn't notice my disgust that I had a three year old with me who I thought had chicken pox... How can a computer diagnose that?! When I angrily left she refused to work the lift for my stroller and made me carry it up the stairs! A full size stroller. What in gods name is going on there? Why would they no have real drs, but signs out front saying they do? Never ever go here if you are actually sick. During pandemic, I wait somewhere between 7-10 minutes to get my phone call answered. When answered their receptionist - Kimberly - says I cannot book you appointments. We have 3 portals, you have to go through a portal, I will show you to book an appointment. You have to open Google Chrome, not use your phone, and put in all your information on your computer ... by the time I figured this all out 20 minutes had passed. The very helpful receptionist, Kimberly, who was chewing loud while I was struggling to book an appointment on my computer, just stood there and said I book appointments but I can't help YOU book appointments other than walk you through the process. SHAME ON YOU Appletree. During pandemic, using our tax dollars / OHIP and treating us like this. While there are some good doctors working for Appletree, the corporation has gotten too comfortable using our health care system and treating patients like this. I should not have to go through hoops and a passive aggressive employee to get what I am entitled to. Shame on you! read more

Dr Noah vale referred me to a genetics clinic when I explained to him that I needed an endocrinologist. I waited 6 months to find out I had been sent to the wrong place. This is a follow up comment to my previous one a few days ago... Further to the wait time and not taking time to examine fully... Dr. Noah misdiagnosed me... At the session he said it was nothing of much concern and sent me off... After days of increased pain to the point I had to go to the ER where they treated me, ironically enough quicker then I had waited in the doctor's office... I repeat DO NO GO SEE THIS DOCTOR... Stupidity and arrogance are bad qualities and Dr. Noah has both... Bad combination. read more
