My dryer wasn't heating, I called Sears.... they weren't available for a week, the young man on the phone was nice enough and tried to accommodate my schedule until I declined a appliance maintenance membership, then the conversation changed. I've never called a appliance repair person other than those from a big box store until now. I called Appliance 911 due to the great reviews and I'm so glad I did! Mario answered the phone immediately and was extremely professional. Mario came by the next day and assessed the problem, explained to my husband and me the different reasons for what possibly could be the reason the dryer wasn't heating. Mario wanted to try the most obvious repair first, unfortunately, the dryer worked for just a brief moment in time then stopped heating again. I called Mario again, he again was very pleasant and professional. Mario ended up replacing a group of fuses, that was the answer! Even though it took a couple of trial and error visits, I didn't mind. Mario never seemed flustered, was determined to fix our dryer. I offered him more money for his time, he refused. Our convection oven started making a loud, distressed drone after using the self-cleaning mode. I called Mario on Monday based on his location and 5 star rating. His outgoing message said he was on vacation and would return calls Tuesday morning. He called me back Monday afternoon and we set an appointment the next day. My wife said he was prompt on the appointment and explained the problem and the cost. If we had chosen to not complete the repair the call would have been free. The oven needed a part that would need to be ordered and Mario returned Friday. He quickly replaced the part and explained how to prevent the issue from happening again. He requested payment for the exact amount quoted on Tuesday. From the first call on Monday to finishing the job on Friday, Mario was friendly and professional and delivered on everything he promised. He is extremely accommodating to our schedules and tries to get out to help us as soon as possible. He is the consummate professional -- knowledgeable about his work, prompt, reliable, and quite a fun guy on top of it. When we spoke, he scheduled an appointment for the next day to confirm the make and model of our washing machine. Showed up when he promised. I called Mario based on yelp reviews because my Samsung oven went out while on self clean. He answered immediately, asked a few questions and made an appointment to come out the next day. It snowed the next day, so I called to confirm and he said to expect him on time. He arrived timely, was very personable but no nonsense and got straight to work. Luckily it was a fuse replacement and was fixed in under an hour. I've not had to call anyone for appliance repair so I can't compare his rate of $125 flat fee just for coming out (not including parts). That seems a little high, but then again I couldn't have asked for a better repair experience. I recommend him. read more

Our refrigerator went out the other night and we needed someone to come out as soon as possible. I called several companies including Appliance 911 first thing in the morning. No one answered when I called so I left them a voice message (around 9am). Didn't get a call back until 1pm when I had already scheduled a repair with another company. Mario left me a voicemail that I could barely hear - which I thought it was the company that I scheduled with. I called them back and whoever answered was extremely rude, and wouldn't listen to me explain that I had a voicemail from that number. He kept saying I called the wrong number and wouldn't let me explain why I was a little confused. I'm surprised this company has such good reviews when the discourse I had with their employee was so ridiculous - could have been resolved if he explained that there wasn't an appointment scheduled for me, but a company with a similar name in the area. read more

Called Mario for a drainage problem with my washer. He arrived on time for his appointment and did some troubleshooting on my machine. It started working again and we thought it was fine. However, two days later I encountered the same issue. He asked some specific questions and did his research before coming back to my house. He knew what was wrong and was quick to make the fix. It's the day before Christmas Eve, and the refrigerator has finally expired. At 4 years it was a short lifespan, but we wanted to make sure that it was time for a replacement, and not a repair. We also had counters piled high with meats, cheeses and (gasp) egg nog, all slowly expiring before our eyes. We called Appliance 911 based off of Yelp reviews here and Mario reported he could come by within the hour. About 35 minutes later Mario (who, I suppose looks a little like the video game character of the same name) was bright, chipper, courteous and engaged. He took a peak at the refrigerator, dug deep into its bowels, and resurfaced with bad news: this particular refrigerator's vitals were dead, and the repair would be very costly. Our refrigerator was one of the cursed brands (Kenmore), and it was a wonder it lasted this long at all. Mario doesn't mess around with whatever part was fried on our unit, so he recommended we ask a friend of his (who also has great Yelp reviews...Colorado Appliance, I think?) and then he was off, sorry to see us without a refrigerator, but leaving us with good, honest advice that, against his personal enrichment, helped us out. read more

Mario, the owner just finished fixing a heating element on my stove. I called him yesterday, which was Sunday, and left a message. He called me back the next day first thing in the morning. He told me he would show up in the afternoon and take a look at my oven. I told him what the problem was and how I tried to get the needed part for repairs. He took the part that I had purchased and got it to work! He was very polite and spent less than 30 minutes to make the repair. I am so pleased that I will call him for all of my appliances for now on if needed. I can't recommend him enough!!! What a diamond in the rough in this day of crappy customer service. By the way, my wife suggested that we just get a new stove. Mario, said that would be like buying a new car to replace the water pump. I called him to report my Kitchenaid refrigerator was leaking water out of the bottom and he knew right away what it was, how long it would take to fix it, and how much he would charge me. After finding that the previous washer's owners had lost the diagnostic code paperwork, my repairman went to his house and scoured the Internet to find the appropriate paperwork and then came back to my home to run evaluations at no extra charge. I was referred to Mario by a friend who had good luck with him. He was able to get out to look at my refrigerator in a timely manner. When looking at the refrigerator he did not do any troubleshooting, but decided to order a part based on what may be causing the issue. He asked for, and I gave him, a $75 deposit for the part. When the part arrived he came back out. At that point he tested the existing part and found that it was working fine and that the new part was not needed. He then told me that he needed to look up the wiring diagram for the refrigerator and that he would get back to me shortly. I never heard back from him. I called him a few times and even left him a very polite message asking him what his schedule was looking like and if he had figured out what the issue was. I never heard back from him and I was never refunded the $75 for the part deposit. That was several months ago. After a few weeks of not hearing back from him I called another appliance repair company and they were able to quickly troubleshoot what the issue was and repair it. read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about Mario. We first used him a couple of years ago to fix our oven after reading the numerous positive reviews on Yelp. He was amazing!! He identified the problem right away and fixed it. He was knowledgeable and also gave us many tips on maintaining our oven better. He was so friendly and his prices were very fair... In fact he doesn't charge very much. I was pleasantly surprised! We called him out another time to fix our washer. Turns out there is a trap that needs to be cleaned... Who knew!!! Well he cleaned it all out for us and once again showed us how to better care for our washer! The cost was again very very low. This week I called Mario again because our washer is so loud. After leaving him a message he called me right back and told me he could come out to have a look but ironworks cost the service fee. He didn't want me to have to pay because he thought it was going to be too expensive to fix (the bearings) so instead he talked me the through checking it over the phone and sure enough there was no need to pay for him to come out....All I can say is that Mario is so incredibly honest, friendly, and very very knowledgeable.
