I first went to the Outlet store and the three male employees ignored me. Finally I hunted them down and had to get them to stop talking to each other to pay attention to me. They were very rude. I would NEVER buy from them. If this review was only from them, it would be a one star. Next I went over to the regular store. All the associates were in the kitchen section with none in the couches. However, the one who helped us was WONDERFUL! If I ever buy anything from this store I would ask for her every time. Super respectful, not pushy. read more

Mis-leading sales practices, lying salesmen, rude management. Management is patronizing and unwilling to work with a customer, even if the fault lies with their own employees. I was sold 3 floor models and was offered 10% off if I would accept the floor models. Since they didn't have these products in stock, I agreed to the salesman deal. A manager named Kevin M, then told us as we were finishing up, that he wouldn't sell me the couch, as it was his "most popular" couch. Now, being his most popular couch, he didn't have any in stock, but refused to sell me what his salesman and I agreed to. He said "I would rather lose you as a customer, than possibly lose more sales later on." Apparently he just ordered more of this couch that day, so they wouldn't go long without it on the floor, but that doesn't matter I guess. Also, for being their "most popular" couch, they didn't have one on display in their main Maumee store, wouldn't that be costing them sales? Kevin never offered me one of the new couches he ordered that day, he simply offered $150.00 gift card to go away. I spoke the next morning to Jim Grzywinski, who did offer me to order and wait in a new couch, but backed Kevin that they don't sell floor models. Oh wait, yes they will, if the reason is good enough, but apparently being LIED to by their salesman and told theyd be willing to lose me as a customer, in case they MIGHT be able to sell a whole bunch of their "Most Popular" couch in the future,(I later found out the couches would be in in 10 days, I wonder how many couches they think theyd sell in that time frame) even though they don't have any of the couch in stock or on display in their Maumee store, isn't a "good enough" reason to honor the agreement made by their employee to the customer. read more

Terrible service! I ordered a new Kitchen appliance package back in December 2019. So many issues from the beginning. Just got a Speed Queen washer delivered today and it came out of the box with a dent in it. This family owned business only offered me $100 credit or I could get a new one but the kicker is they'd take the washer and I'd be without a washer for a week. They're very accommodating as long as you're buying but drop the ball after your items are delivered. Never recommending and never purchasing from them again. read more

If I could give this store a minus grade I would. I ordered an $800.00 dining set from Appliance Center. The sales person, though not personable, did an adequate job. As usual i was passed off to the "closer" who took payment and advised me that. Would have to wait about 5 weeks for delivery. Eventually the store allied me and told me my set was in but that they had processed my credit card wrong and that i owed $2.00 more. I had to laugh as I thought she was joking......she was not. The following week the delivery men....both very nice....delivered my dining set and asked me if I wanted it assembled. What???? Assembled? Of course I want it assembled. They said t would be an additional $69.00. WTF!!!!??? I sent the set back and made a mental note. "NEVER BUY FROM APPLIANCE CENTER AGAIN." (It should be noted that earlier this year I purchased a $2800.00 love seat recliner from Appliance Center that was supposed to take 3-5 weeks to deliver and was listed as "in the warehouse". My wife and I purchased a Bosch dishwasher on November 26, 2017. We paid extra for delivery and installation waited a week. Once installed ran the unit 1 time and it died no power nothing. Called Appliance ct they said it would be a week before they could get a repairman out, unacceptable for a brand new machine in my book. We wait a week repairman looks it over and said a board is bad will take another 2 weeks. Again new machine , appliance ct acts like we are being unreasonable for wanting it fixed. They finally came out today, 12-22 and guess what they ordered wrong board another week. They say they can't bring out different machine. Will never buy from this place again. read more

On July 15,2020 I ordered a couch and loveseat and because of covid19 I was told I would get them mid September. I said that was fine. Mid September came and went -no furniture. My daughter called and was told that the furniture was made and would be put on the truck September 28 and would arrive 1st week of October--still no furniture. I go to the store and was told they have the loveseat but no couch. Delivered loveseat on October 7th after talking to a lady and was told the couch would be delivered 1st week of November--still no couch. Went back to store on November 8th and was told couch would be delivered on November 12th--still no couch. Now they tell my daughter it won't be delivered until after Thanksgiving -we shall see. Doesn't take anyone else 4 months to deliver furniture even with covid19. Tired of being lied to. I will never ever buy or step foot in this store again. We have been customers of appliance center since 1997. And sales and service was always good till today. I had a salesman argue with me that my measurements for my double oven were wrong and when I walked out I was finally given a salesman that I thought helped me get the best deal. Of course it wasn't the brand I wanted but it was a good price. Now I just discovered the one I wanted was available and $300 cheaper than what they said was available. Do not use this service dept!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were out ten times and were unable to repair my dishwasher, which had a problem with the door coming ajar. When I would call them back, they would NEVER return my calls! This includes the service manager and the store managers. Finally, just got my money back, but the dishwasher still is not repaired. Had to get a plumber to install it because the installer from AC couldn't do it because it was not right next to the sink. Supposed to be free installation and haul away. However, had to pay the plumber $150.00 to install and haul away. After reading the reviews I see there is no use in talking to anyone else. Have talked to service manager about reimbursement to no avail. Had not gone there in years but, thought we would support local business. I plan on letting friends and family know and directing them to the reviews. Their ploy is to try to sell damaged appliances. Also they will tell you the one you want will take several weeks to arrive but they would give you the one on the floor for a little less- and then you find it is an old model. Or they will bring a damaged /scratched appliance to your home and claim it was damaged after installation. There is very little honesty with this company. Such a shame. Had a great experience in store and easy purchasing experience. I booked and paid for all the appliances(microwave, dishwasher, and stove) to be delivered and installed(along with the old ones hauled out) on the same day. The day before they are suppose to be getting delivered, we called them because we had not heard from them about a time frame. They informed us that it was only for dropping it off, even though my recipes I was looking at said it was install, delivery and haul out. Said they would call us back when they figure it out. When they did, they told us only the stove was being delivered and the earliest we would get the dishwasher and microwave would be in another week. They offered no solution or refund or compensation for their mistakes. I had to ask for the refund on the install and delivery. And then had to waste the remainder of my Saturday(since the delivery was 45 mins late) driving to their warehouse and picking up the other appliances myself. Now going to have to ensure I get my refund, and install all these appliances myself. Was looking to buy a new couch but I guess I'll go somewhere else. Very dissatisfied with the customer service at Appliance Center. We visited the store on May 26,17 and purchased over $4200 worth of appliances. None of the items we purchased were on sale or eligible for any rebates. They were delivered on June 5, 2017 and everything was fine. We came back on June 19, 2017 and purchased a garbage disposal which was not on sale or eligible for any rebate. When we got home there was a Key Shoppers News with a front page ad for Appliance Center the ad said there was a special of 20% off any regular priced item up to $50 discount. I called customer service and talked to Savannah I believe, she was very nice and said to come in and bring the ad and they would make a price adjustment. The next day as I was getting ready to go to the store I was getting my recyclables together and noticed a Key ad from the same week that we purchased our major appliances with the same ad. When I got to the store I asked about the previous ad and they would do nothing about that, I was told that the sales people don't know when those ads come out. As far as a price adjustment for the garbage disposal they couldn't do at the front desk and the person that could do it was too busy to help me. They told me it would be taken care of, I asked for a receipt and was told they would not give me one. I said how do I know when I will receive the credit, do I just keep checking my credit card for a credit on it. They would not give me an answer. It's been a couple of days and still no credit. Amanda did offer to send me a receipt when they did the credit. I have never been to an any store where I went for a price adjustment and left with nothing being done and no receipt. We try to support our local businesses but the big box stores have better customer service. We purchased a new Bosch dishwasher from Appliance Center and had it installed on March 14. This morning I called for service due to an error code for a clogged filter (3 1/2 months into owning this model.) I was told all the techs were in a meeting and they would call me to schedule. 3 hours later no call back so I called them. I was scheduled for a service call by the same girl who answered the phone at 930 for the next day between 3-6. Highly unsatisfied with this dishwasher and the service at appliance center. After 2 years the seams are pulling apart, leaving big holes and the springs have collapsed...and this is from normal wear. I purchased an Electrolux Induction range on 9/29/14 and purchased the extended warranty from New Leaf, which I have on all of the other 10 or so appliances I have purchased from Appliance Center. Well, it died on 9/26/19 so we called for service and asked if we were still under warranty and were told NO. So, still had them come out on 9/27/19, and were charged 85.00 for service call and told it would be 1700.00 to repair the unit. Needed a moment to think about whether or not to spend the 1700.00 or just buy a new unit. Called again on 9/30/19 just to make absolutely sure we did not have the extended warranty only to find out we actually did have coverage, but guess what?? it's expired now, and there is nothing we can do to help you. After about 10-12 calls to service, and New leaf (warranty company) nobody wants to make this right. We have plead out case to many employees in service and nobody seems to care that they made a mistake and said we had no warranty. Several employees have admitted that there was a mistake made when we were misinformed about the unit being covered, but management stands by the fact that this is our problem. I have spent a lot of money on appliances and furniture with them over the years, and am extremely disappointed that they would screw over a good customer, but after reading these reviews, I can see we are one of many. Word of mouth is a powerful thing, and I intend to follow this through. read more

I'm very pleased. I bought my new refrigerator on Black Friday and they held it for me until February 18, 2015. That was nice. The two men who delivered it were extra helpful and took care that neither my doorways nor floors were scratched. I had no high pressure sale experience and as I said, they were nice to keep it in their storage for so long. I would recommend them as good as it gets! We've bought washers, dryers and refrigerators over the years. My last purchase some years ago the business refuse to put purchase in my name. Reason address had father's name which he was deceased at the time of purchase. Office staff refused or had no clue on how to update the files. Refrigerator lower sticks like it was poorly adjusted. We have purchased appliances there for 20 plus years. Recently purchased a Speed Queen dryer ($900). Dryer gets too hot. Appliance Center came out, ordered parts - took 3 weeks for them to get back to us. This was after we called them back. Dryer still did not work correctly. Made 5 calls to Appliance Center to discuss. Scheduled another service call (3rd one) -- Appliance Center NEVER SHOWED UP. Called store & talked to a manager (Mark)- he claimed they had no record of this!!!! We called Speed Queen directly explained the problems having. They told us Appliance Center not close to diagnosis the problem correctly. Sending us the correct replacement part & recommended several other authorized repair centers. Going to Appliance Center for new appliances is over for us. We will patronize retailers that value our business & STAND BEHIND their products & service. When we moved from out of state, we bought all new furniture. Dining set, large butch block cart, living room set and a bedroom set. Literally every piece has had something wrong with it. They have been quick to come check the furniture out the first time and quick to agree that the condition is not acceptable, but they've been slow to resolve. You're a fool if you buy anything from here. I bought a wall unit AC a couple years ago and the guy that sold it to me told me to take the metal case off before I put it in the metal wall sleeve so I did. It didn't work right as soon as I put it in because it would raise the temperature to 90 on it's own and I would come home to a sauna. I called them and they sent someone out to look at it and after 2 visits all he said was I would have to spend over $100 dollars for a new metal case, I didn't have $100 because I just spent over $600 on the AC. When I called them back all they said was it was my fault for taking it off and they wouldn't do anything else for me even though their salesman told me to take it off. Now I'm sitting in my living room on the hottest day of the summer sweating my ass off like I have for the last 2 summers because I cant afford another AC. I cant even have people over to hang out all summer because it's so hot in here that nobody can stand to hang out in here. Don't buy from them! Appliance Center Sucks Bought all new appliances from them in NOV, Frig is whirlpool brand new out of the box , installed it my self. Bins for the right side of the door not the ice dispenser side don't fit. The parts diagram show one bin fits all 3 spaces. WRONG ! The bottom fits the other 2 no way. Called Whirlpool, they said they would send a repair person out to install them and if it wasn't a warranty call I would have to pay for the service. No problem, the tech came from ACE appliance repair , very professional and agreed that there was a problem and he was going to order 2 new doors. Appliance center call and said the got it all corrected and the new bin would be here soon, cancelled the doors. Bins came 2 , for the WRONG side again. I have 4 replacements bins they sent that don't fit. I have screwed around with this for a month, appliance center don't give a shit now. They said deal with Whirlpool and Ace, Hey Appliance Center maybe you should read some of the other dissatisfied complaints on this sight, there is plenty of them. After being faithful customers for well over 20 years and spending well over $20,000 there over the years we were treated like garbage and told not to come back after trying to rectify a mistake made by the Appliance Center. The appliances were purchased the 27th of May and we JUST now got the issue resolved on October 6th after much prodding. And yes, the "management" was involved and he was incredibly unprofessional and clearly doesn't have the customer's satisfaction in mind and is literally running customers away (if you consider telling us to never come back into his store over the phone). Sales - top knotch! Services...not so sure. Our fridge was delivered at the wrong time. We were told 12-3pm, and it was 10am. My husband wasn't home at the time, which would have been more helpful to troubleshoot a faulty water line. When we called the service department to get help, they said they would need to call back. It was hours later and said they couldn't have someone help for 4 days. My husband was running to Menards to try and get the parts himself, although they don't fit. Disappointing. read more

I bought a washer and dryer from a plant center April the 29th. finances were delivered within a day or two. The first time the washer was used it's filling up with water and then emptying without doing any washing. I have had to call them twice for customer service. After reading some of these reviews, I'd like to share my experience with these folks. Over the last 20 years we'd purchased quite a few appliances from the and had always had good luck. Then we decided to by a new refrigerator and a new freezer. Nothing special just basic units. We were told they will NOT sell a fridge with an icemaker in it! (because of liability reason) but they would sell the icemaker separately. Fine, I can install it myself. Freezer was a Frigidair 20' upright. Freezer lasted 11 months and died. Came home to the alarm going off. Called them and they sent an independent repairman out. Diagnosed it as a bad control module. Said it's a VERY common problem. Ok. Fine. 11 months later? It goes out again! Called them and was basically told. "Oh well. Not our problem". I visited them in person and was told the same thing. I called Electrolux (their parent co.) and no help. I bought my own module and installed it, and you guessed it, bout a year later it too died. There's a main switching transistor on the board that burns out. ALL the bad modules had the transistors with the same build date. I'm now on my 5th one. This transistor has a later build date and so far is still working... I won't buy from them again.. read more

Horrible place to buy furniture and bad customer service. My family has been long time Appliance Center customers but since they expanded the business, the quality of service has gone downhill. We purchased two theater seats and was told they'd be delivered in 8 weeks, took 11 and then was delivered with a puncture hole in it. Had repair guy out twice and ended up needing a whole new seat. Then had a problem with the other seat. Took 6 months to get everything resolved. My grandmother just bought a couch and on the week it was supposed to be delivered they called and said the fabric is no longer available and that the style of couch she ordered was discontinued. Have had two other family members have problems with recliners and had a family friend buy a t.v. and upon delivery, the wrong model was brought. Delivery guys talked them (elderly couple) into keeping the wrong model. Customer service is awful. Every time you call the person you need (repair guy, manager) is "not available" and "will call you back." They never call back. We will never buy anything from here again. read more

I give up, Appliance Center wins. I made the mistake of getting a Frigidaire stacking Washer and Dryer from Appliance Center in Maumee but it just won't start a wash cycle. It beeps and locks like the instructions say, but it just sits there and does nothing. The instructions are worthless and filled with suggestions like "...make your selection..." and '...if equipped..." Well, if I already knew, I wouldn't need the instructions. Today, it still wouldn't start and after waiting an hour for it to start, I phoned Appliance Center and was put on hold. I was finally connected to the Washer and Dryer Department where the salesman wanted my phone number and when I'd bought the equipment. Eventually saying he'd give me to Drew, their "troubleshooter" After holding some more someone came back and said Drew was selling to another customer. I gave up and hung up, unsatisfied with my Frigidaire combination, but satisfied (from holding) knowing John Oswald has the biggest appliance store in Ohio with free delivery. We recently purchased a new washer, dryer and refrigerator from Appliance Center and couldn't be happier. The buying and delivery process went off without a hitch, but it's the service we received after the fact that made our day. The Whirlpool dryer has a sensor in the drum that was snagging some of our clothing and it ruined a few items. Appliance Center was super quick to get their repair people out to my house and isolate the problem. A new part was ordered and we were back in business within a couple days. That ladies and gentlemen is service! The kind of service that comes in dealing with a locally owned and operated, family business. I was already a fan of Appliance Center, now I'm a customer for life. read more

My wife was talked into purchasing a washer a grade higher than what I thought we needed- on top of that, the price was much higher than similar (nearly identical other than label) washers on sale for over $100 less at the big box stores for Memorial Day weekend, while we have nothing to show for it. I want to support locally-owned companies, but I feel that we did not get a very good value and way overpaid while the big-box stores were offering 30% discounts. Shame on me for not shopping around. The only good thing I can say is that delivery was timely, the 3 men removed and installed the washer with care, so I was happy with that portion. So we bought luv seat and couch in dec 2019 when it was delivered the delivery people noticed there was a rip in the couch we thought no big deal they took pictures and said they would send it in and somebody would be able to fix it in early 2020 somebody came out to fix it hit the wrong part and proceeded to show us on our loveseat how to stuff the cushions he accidentally ripped the cushions again no big deal you said you would order them and give us a call when it come in we have been given nothing but the run around with this still here in September of 2020 things are not fixed promises are broken nobody wants to communicate mainly a manager named Jules she does not call at any time to let you know if parts are in or when they will be available we have made several calls and nothing has been done I would not recommend buying furniture from this place due to the service department sucks I am very disappointed in the service department hopefully sometime soon we will receive our ripped parts and get them fixed...... read more
