Because I grew up on a farm and when I got bored with grad school I fixed motorcycles and owned a foreign car repair shop, I'm used to fixing just about everything I own (not to mention a lot of other people's stuff). BUT. I've also tried hard to recognize when I don't know enough, and I chose (even with youtube vids) not to dive into a decade old $2500 fridge with an odd cooling problem. The downside with always fixing your own stuff is THEN finding a company that (a) has competent techs and (b) is honest. Scared to daylights picking one out of the dozens of appliance repair companies out there. I know a bit about doing research (statistics and research Ph.D.) so poked around all the availablle ratings data on the internet as well as company histories; after a couple hours landed on these folks. Well, wow. The tech showed up (ON TIME!!!), took onw look, said (which I kinda thought) defrost it for 24 hours. If it works then, you're good. If it doesn't, lotsa bux, but 99% it's just a defrost (a doofus house sitting had left one f the doors open for a couple days). Yup, problem solved. DO NOT FUSS, do not even blink an eyelash at the visit charge. THAT's one reason they can afford to be honest. You're paying for the truck and tools and parts they have to carry ($$$$$$), the guy driving sometimes a pretty long way to you, and all that training and expertise. I was absolutely ecstatic that all that knowledge, expertise and honesty was there for a few bux, and it would have been deducted from a repair had I needed it. I know, long. Sorry. I previously left a bad review, but I'm now providing an update which has turned into a wonderful review about Appliance EMT. I initially was dissatisfied with work done by the company and posted a negative review. I felt the initial technician gave us incorrect information and was trying to over charge us. I was contacted by one of the managers, and I believe her name was Emily. Emily proceeded to tell me that she just did not want us to have a nasty taste in our mouth about the experience and asked what could be done to rectify the situation? She offered the option of sending another technician or a refund. However, she did explain that the issue that the analysis from the first technician could have been correct, it was just explained to us in a way that we didn't understand. I agreed for a second representative to come out, and he did. He did a phenomenal job examining the washer. Turns out that the analysis that we complained about was actually correct. The technician even showed me how to order parts, and gave me recommendations on a new washer. This moved me to pay a second travel fee even though I was told that I did not have to do this. I was so impressed with the integrity of the company, and since they did send someone out who verified that the first technician was correct all along, I was ok with paying a second travel fee because I was in the wrong. I highly recommend this company to anyone. They prove that they operate with integrity and professionalism. read more

these guys were great. They fit me in in just a couple of days and then even gave me an earlier appointment I had the most helpful service person named Dominic troubleshoot and fix our Jenn-Air oven. Additionally, upon completing that if there was anything else that he could assist with, and I remembered that our garbage disposal broken and so I mentioned it to him and he checked reset the thing so that the motor would come on, but then found out that it was still dripped water. So he informed me that we would indeed need to have a garbage disposal. He checked and found out that a nearby vendor had it in stock consulted with me and we decided to go ahead with the repair. very very kind and concerned about our situation. He left to go get the appliance and then returned put it in and everything was working terrific the the garbage to work without a hitch. I really appreciate this company and it's them a try. Our microwave stopped working on a Wednesday evening, displaying an error that the door was open and keeping the light on, preventing it from warming food. Anthony with Appliance EMT came out to troubleshoot my wall microwave/oven combo unit. The main control board was faulty. Replacing it showed there was still a problem causing the board to fail. Anthony refused to give up and worked diligently to find the original source of the problem. Finally found the thermostat was faulty. He got a new one ordered quickly and came to install it. Problem fixed! I wish we could have done it more quickly, but that's the nature of troubleshooting! From start to finish I am so impressed with this company to fix our Thermadore Ice Maker. Andrew and Olga were wonderful. First, they messaged me ahead of time to confirm the appointment and said how far away they were from my home to set expectations. Then They troubleshooted the issue and showed me what was going on with the icemaker and why it broke. Our broken refrigerator was diagnosed with a freon leek by another appliance repair company. Unfortunately, it's really hard to find someone who has the qualifications/certifications to repair this type of problem. This was my first time using Home Advisor, and I was totally satisfied. Home Advisor put me in touch with Appliance EMT and their service tech, Bobby. Bobby came out the same day, diagnosed the problem, ordered the part, and came back the next day to make the repair. Bobby is a total pro and kept in touch with me by phone at all times. I just used Appliance EMT for the second time to fix issues with my refrigerator. For the most recent visit, I was able to get a same day appointment and the tech actually showed up a bit early. He promptly diagnosed the problem (different than the previous time - it's an old LG side by side) and made the repair. Good group of people that have a heart my dryer had broke down and I told him I didn't have any money and they did it community act of love. My husband's not well and he hasn't continence and I've been hanging all of the clothes up on the line thanks to appliance CMT. I have a wonderful working dryer. They even supply the part.
