Okay, so I'm not the only one who used this company (guy?) and didn't have my appliance repaired... We just moved into our new house about 2 months ago, and the dishwasher has been leaking from the front since the beginning. We filed a claim with First American Warranty, who sent out Appliance Superheroes. He replaced a part, it still leaked. He came back out, ordered another part, replaced it, and it still leaked. He came out again, and like Michigan J. Frog, the dishwasher chose not to leak while he was there. To his credit, he did sit through the whole wash cycle. Not a drop while he was there. His final words were, "Just let it run until it dies - then file another claim." Soooo if this dishwasher lasts another 10 years but leaks the entire time, I'm just supposed to live with that? And lo and behold, the next time we ran the dishwasher, it leaked AGAIN (pictures attached). So we reopened the claim. Someone from the warranty company called and requested we send photos, which we did. The photos show a puddle and drips coming directly off of the dishwasher front cover/panel. The warranty rep calls me a day later and says the photos we sent aren't sufficient proof that the leak is still happening, so he told me to get a "second opinion" (on my own dime, of course) who could then send the photos back to the warranty company so they could continue investigating. I asked why they couldn't just send the original contractor back out, and he said, "The contractor is refusing to come back because it didn't leak while he was there." The contractor literally SAID, "It leaks when it wants to." So he's aware that this dishwasher is a POS, but he's instead telling the warranty company that it's not leaking and there's nothing he can do. Who's worse here - the contractor or the warranty company? TL;DR: They came out multiple times to fix a dishwasher leak and it's still not fixed. Don't use Appliance Superheroes, and don't use First American Warranty company. Also I thought this was a company with multiple technicians based on how he talked about it, but it seems like it's just one guy? Edit after reading other reviews: Okay, so I was right. He really is just one guy running his own business, but misleads you to think he works for some company with a bunch of other dudes. What is the purpose of misleading people like this? read more

A lot of misconception about this Juan! He's a little socially different, but all around competent and knowledgeable in what he does. He's done 4 different repairs for me over the years: LG refrigerator compressor, microwave, and heater twice. He was in/out and honest about it, not the type for small talk. A lot of times the warranty company won't cover things - YES WE ALL WANT FREE REPLACEMENTS but that's not how the situation works all the time. If you want a replacement it is entirely a cost-benefit model for the warranty company: if the cost of these calls out weighs the costs of replacing, then they will replace, otherwise they will repair. That's what a warranty company does. Juan used to work locally for a large international chain, but has since gone independent. Don't shoot the messenger, this guy knows what he is doing. read more

First American Home Warranty sent Juan out to repair my dishwasher. I was pleased with the communication in advance of the appointment. Juan was on time, courteous, listened to my concerns, explained to me the possible issues and steps he was going to take, and found the issue - a piece of glass that had lodged itself in the pump. No attempts to upsell, no scare tactics...couldn't ask for more. Very happy with Juan's service and professionalism! read more

He showed up and stated the microwave needed to be replaced and he would report to my home warranty company. After a week no reply so my warranty company contacted him and he told them he doesnt work on that model..an absolute lie. I tried calling him he never responded. Our 12 year old electric dryer started screeching last night and so this morning we put in a request for service with AHS home warranty. We were assigned appliance superheroes, so I sent Juan a text letting him know we would love to schedule our service appointment. A couple hours later he asked our availability and we told him anytime, as soon as possible, and he made our appointment for today. He just left after fixing the pulley that was worn out, and cleaning the inside of the dryer. He was so polite, kind, and explained everything. I highly recommend Juan from Appliance Superheroes. Why one star? Because I cannot go any lower. They were supposed to fix my dishwasher and never did. When I cancelled the claim and requested a refund from my home warranty company, I was told that the Appliance Superheroes had marked my repair request as completed. Avoid them. I would leave a zero if I could as well after reading his other reviews. This guy is no superhero! I had a time frame of 10:30-1:30 and he messaged me at 12:30 he was heading over but had our address wrong so then tried to reschedule after I scheduled my day around his time frame then stopped responding. He Messaged me again at 2:30 that he just got the message and could come now...showed up said it's just me so I don't respond to texts when I'm working & my home is out of his usual service area looked at my built in microwave said I know exactly what's wrong with it but I'm not fixing it because it built in to high. Juan from Appliance Superheroes was assigned to us through American Home Shield warranty to fix the lower oven of our Jenna Air double wall oven and I couldn't be more pleased with his service. He scheduled an appointment for me same day, contacted me again on his way over, and arrived within the promised timeframe. He was knowledgeable, courteous, friendly, and trustworthy. He fixed an issue with the circuit board and then, took the extra time to answer my questions and even made sure that my top oven was working properly before leaving. I was assigned The Appliance Superheroes by my home warranty company and submitting a claim for my Oven and Dryer late Friday night. Juan called me by 10 am Sat. and scheduled an appointment for later that day. Juan arrived on time and was very nice. He inspected the oven and got it working quickly. The dryer needed to be cleaned out. He tried to work with the warranty co. to get the clean out covered though they would not budge. The service for the dryer was a small cost in the end. I highly recommend The Appliance Superheroes! They go the extra mile, has great customer service, are knowledgeable, and fast. read more

I would leave zero stars because after this guy gets your service fee from your warranty company, he will never be seen again. Yet the warranty company keeps calling him. He came here 2 months ago and was very prompt and courteous but now he doesn't answer his phone or return phone calls. Literally dropped out of sight and my microwave is still broken. I have left one at least seven voicemail messages to please contact us and let us know what's going on and still not have received any callback. This company is very unprofessional! I had an appointment scheduled to have my oven worked on. I got a call from a blocked number so I didn't answer it. But it was the technician from Appliance Superheroes. He said he was running a little late but he would be there in about 10 minutes. Then he said to call if I had any questions but he didn't leave a phone number. He never showed up so when I called the next day, I was told that the appointment had been cancelled. We manage approximately 100 rental homes and often have to deal with the homewarranty which can be very very frustrating. This vendor called us the same day we placed the call with the home warranty, he came out the same day, he also fixed the dishwasher which needed a new pump/motor assembly the same day, took about 20 minutes. WOW, BUYER BEWARE !!! While I support local, this one I would stay away from at all costs. The "owner" takes home warranty work orders that he knows he can not complete, just to get the service fee with no intention of fixing the appliance. False reports of coming to my home were filed with the home warranty company without any actual service or appearance. The technician, who now states he is the owner, told me that he would "need to talk to the owner" about fixing my appliance and get back to me. Dishonest much? When questioned, it was flipped about my personal integrity because a prior repair person could not fix the microwave previously vs. the functioning of my microwave. 20 years in Clovis and not one service company issue until running into this company. All I can say is....wow. I'm fairly new to American Home Shield warranty services, but I will say that I'm very disappointed in how Juan from Appliance Superheroes conducted the service/repair process. Based on my attempted interactions with Juan, I get the feeling that Juan IS the business (sole proprietor; no employees). We played a couple of rounds of voicemail tag over the past couple of days. The only information I got from him was in a voicemail implying that the model of dishwasher may not be repairable. Assuming that's the case, I can see why he apparently lied to AHS for the free service fee. Despite never setting an appointment via voicemail or direct conversation, I got three confirmation emails yesterday from AHS that he has an appointment to look at my defective dishwasher. AHS also emailed me that he has diagnosed the dishwasher and that AHS will charge my card for the service fee. I talked to a CSR at AHS who agreed to look into my question of the actual service. The AHS rep called me back today stating that Juan had in fact serviced my dishwasher, but at a different location than the address I reported. According to the rep, he listed the street address as "1700". No actual street name, no time of arrival or departure, and no detail of how he remedied the situation. Kinda makes me wonder if he's pulled this kind of shenanigan with other customers. read more

Appliance Superheroes was assigned by AHS to come out and replace the microwave transformer. It took over a week to get Juan out to look at my problem. I had informed him of the problem prior to his appointment but he needed to assess for himself before ordering the part. Juan came out on July 6, 2020. I contacted him on 7/18/20 to check status. He said my part was on back order and will arrive on or after 7/20/20. He notified me on 7/20/20 that the part came in and he would arrive on 7/23/20 b/t 1pm and 5pm. I texted Juan the day before our scheduled appointment to remind him. The following day, I waited the entire afternoon for him. Juan never showed up! I tried calling him at 4:45pm but the call went straight to his voicemail, which was full, and I was unable to leave a message to inquire about his ETA. I tried texting him and got no reply. I called AHS to complain about what transpired and they tried reaching out to him as well. Several hours later, I received a text from Juan stating that the part did not arrive and that he needs to re-order it. I was livid! Juan didn't have the courtesy to notify me after he made the appointment with me via email and via text. This company's employee, Juan, is very unprofessional and dirty!
