If you have any problem at all with items that don't need to be shipped or bills that were in error, good luck correcting the issues. They will bounce you around to people all over the company and seemingly all over the world. No one will take responsibility and when you try to get a working local number to reach someone empowered to help, they will ask you how you got it and act like you did something wrong. Sales will refer to billing. Billing will refer to sales. It's the classic "right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing". As a result, it can take months to resolve receiving supplies for a device you don't actually have, meanwhile the insurance is paying claims on those supplies. Physicians: Run, don't walk, away from this place. They have no concept of customer service. Initially we were told my father in laws walker would be delivered Tuesday evening but it never came in. We called today to rudely be told it would now be delivered Thursday and that there was nothing else we can do and hung up. Did not work for us as we needed his walker urgently. Due to the matter, I called customer service and demanded for a manager. Luckily, I was greeted by Will who kindly deescalated the situation and was able to send in the walker within 2hrs. If there was an option for zero stars..... I'm beyond DONE with this company. I've been "dealing" with Apria for a couple years, not by choice, but now, I'M THE ONE chasing THEM to return my machine. I was told by billing AND the manager, Joe, 3 weeks ago, they would mail me a return label. Does NOT take 3 weeks, so I called. I literally just hung up with Will. He is ALWAYS rude, condescending and nasty. I'm a stroke survivor, I require a bit of patience. He interrupts and never let's me finish. I'm always promised a call back I never receive. I'm sick of Apria consistently making promises they never keep. The service is a joke, the staff are horrible and Joe does NOT know how to be a manager. Unfortunately for them, I have nothing but time, I will be contacting corporate, BBB, and everyone else about this farce. I'm a stroke survivor, open heart surgery survivor and type 1 diabetic. STAY AWAY FROM APRIA! We needed a wheelchair for my wife who has become disabled. Doctor wrote a script, our insurance gave us a list of options, we took it to Lancaster, CA location after a phone call to them. After not finding it, we called and were given correct address. Took in paperwork and they said it would take 5 business days. After two weeks, called and there were no records of us, then found us, made excuses, then told they needed a credit card for a rental agreement to pick up chair. We don't want to rent. we need to own a chair and our insurance agreed to pay for it. I could have listed the names of the staff we dealt with who were not helpful and indifferent but won't. Just stay away from this place. Based on the experience of others you want to avoid getting into an ongoing rental agreement with them. You are better off purchasing your own equipment. My husband is on Hospice. I called to cancel his account with Apria, Lancaster.I was transferred to a representative in another country. I couldn't understand her at all. I asked to be transferred to a representative in the United States. Well someone answered and hung up on me. I called again and was put on hold. When I finally reached a representative in Lancaster, He questioned my attitude. I told him I had been trying for an hour to get this account cancelled. Will told me he couldn't cancel the account in case the insurance billed something. I told him Hospice was ordering supplies thru a respiratory company and if I received anything from Apria I would be returning it in person...It is absolutely ridiculous that it is this difficult to cancel an account and I still have an account. read more

Our Apria experience was awful. (Mountville Pa Location) Trying to get a prescribed bi-pap for a man with SEVERE sleep apnea. Was told the device would be here in a week. It was not. When we called, the first time, they said it was "back ordered", but had never reached out to tell us such. Never returned ANY calls they said they would follow up on. Became VERY distressed as husband was not sleeping or functioning well. I started calling every 2 hours, requesting to speak with a manager. One employee told me they were under staffed, which I completely understand, but we are now 2 weeks with no device. I offered to send them videos of my husband struggling to breathe. Then was told they put a ticket into their system to request the device (which means there was no back order problem). Stated we should have the device by the end of this week. I stated that is not good enough. Please CALL your warehouse and expedite the process. I will say the ladies were polite during the calls, but there were never any follow up calls as promised, and there was no urgency on Aprias end to remedy the situation. I wish I could give zero stars. Apria sent a person to pick up their oxygen tanks etc. While moving the tanks, he scratched MY BRAND NEW FLOOR!! Response? "sorry" I call Apria BEFORE he leaves. I speak with a "supervisor" (I use this term loosely because she was zero help) named Joy. She states she will write down my complaint and have someone get back to me. Me: Can I get your direct line? Joy: I do not have a direct line, but I will email the General Manager Brandon Payne today regarding this situation. Me: Can you cc me on that email? Joy: No I am not allowed to do that, but I will make notes Me: Do you have a reference number for my complaint? Joy: No we do not have reference numbers. I was referred to Apria in Lancaster, CA through Kaiser when I had a stroke January 2018. It's been almost a year (December 2018) and I wholeheartedly recommend this company. Their explanations were always clear for my stroke addled brain. Customer service was always courteous and patient. Kaiser Durable Medical Equipment did not answer my questions whereas APRIA always gave me correct info. Pick up and deliveries always came when scheduled. It really helped me that they pick up and deliver because I was unable to drive nor carry anything for most of the time. (I got a wheelchair, commode, regular cane and 4-point cane through Apria. I ran over the 4-point cane and APRIA took care of getting the replacement tips right away even though it was my fault.) I found that dealing with APRIA directly after the referral from Kaiser was best to avoid confusion of multiple answers from Kaiser. The Lancaster, CA APRIA office is awesome for meeting my needs! read more

I place an order five days before my foot surgery and this is three days after my surgery and still I haven't revived my walker. I spoke with them in Lancaster and they informed me they send it to the wrong address. I gave them my new address when I verify the order. I spoke with them Thursday after my surgery and they said it would be there the next day which was Friday but nothing. Today is Sunday and nothing. The crutches are hurting my arm pits. After no show we called the next day and they said driver didn't want to deliver that late. So we rescheduled again, after another no show we called and they said there was no order. We had to wait another two days to get the oxygen delivered. After we got the tanks this idiots said that they might be empty and to call to get them filled as we needed only two of them had oxygen. Also they forgot to police to ad cánulas which we tried getting for about a week. To Whom It May Concern Re: Apria Healthcare 43301 Division St. #312 Lancaster, Ca. 93535 Apria Healthcare in Lancaster, California is a company that is run very poorly. This location is ran by one manager that is not managing at all. Up until recently he had an employee from dispatch doing assistant manager work. He hired someone as an assistant manager that doesn't really know anything about the company or even experienced a full day in the drivers shoes. Neither the manager or assistance manager want to help their team/employees when days are busy due to being understaffed. Employees are asked to do things that are out of their scope such as explain to customers about how to work equipment that they know nothing about (RT medical equipment). Drivers are being overworked because the manager won't or can't hire or keep drivers. They hire drivers in at low rates that clearly don't match their work load. Drivers are quickly trained and expected to be up to the speed of a veteran worker once sent out. These drivers are not like Amazon, UPS or FedEx drivers. They are not only dropping items off, they are more than often in the home of strangers assembling medical equipment and providing instruction. This is not only time consuming but hard strenuous work. Drivers are not provided carts to carry their heavy work items such as oxygen tanks or hospital beds and have to carry them to the patients door and sometimes upstairs. Workers are dispatched to unsafe areas at night with no concern of the workers well-being for items such as BP Machine/Cuff, breast pump, wheelchair, or walkers, things that can wait till the morning to be delivered. Apria is not an emergent service but they are treating their workers like they are emergency first responders. If a patient can't breath and needs oxygen, it is not Apria they should be calling. They should be contacting 911. I'll say it again, Apria services are NOT emergent. Apria services are to help possibly improve/sustain a patients home life such as mobility/respiratory or in whatever way (depending on the medical equipment ordered) after the patient has seen their provider whether they have been to outpatient/inpatient (ER) services and have been provided an Rx for any durable medical equipment. When workers have a concern it is not addressed as the management here will simply brush off the employee and often times they are retaliated against if they asked questions. Retaliation usually comes in the form of adding more routes to their load causing them to work well into the night even if they are on call. While on call for 3 days straight workers get no rest and in addition to working on call hours they are expected to also work their regular shift with several routes. Workers are asked to do on call every other week because they have no other drivers because they keep running them away. This is a safety concern as drivers need rest so that they are able to be alert while driving. This eventually will cause a worker to have some type of accident whether it is on the road or even while assembling medical equipment for a customer. The location where the Apria building is, is not secure and workers subjected homeless individuals wondering around and are able to have easy access to employees. The trucks that the employees use are not serviced according to DOT requirements. Employees are being asked to drive to other areas that are not in their service area and male employees have even been forced to go to a female employees home to take equipment late at night. Very unprofessional and not appropriate. I believe that Apria may be a good company but this location is clearly not being ran appropriately. With a company like this you need drivers that you can trust and depend on but at the same time those drivers need to be supported by their management and team. They are out in the community all day doing their job and they are treated like cattle and barked at all day. I believe that everyone that sits in the office should be forced to experience a full day with the drivers and help so they can see what the drivers go through on a daily basis. I also believe that the manager and assistant manager should be wiling to jump in and help when they can. That is what a true team is about. Managing isn't just about delegating and for those that are not aware of this they should go to a management training. Most don't need to be told how to do their job, they just need support. And not only does management not care about their employees but they do NOT care about the patients. A concern individual. read more

i went to the urgent care at Kaiser Permanente in Lancaster due to allergy driven asthma symptoms that happen to me about once a year. The M.D. asked if I had a nebulizer, I told him no. He said they would give me one which I thought was odd since I would only use it maybe once a year. He had the nurse bring me a rental agreement that hadn't been filled out with the costs of this item. I'm saying they wanted me to sign a blank check. I told the doctor that is not going to happen. My mom is going home on hospice today from the hospital so we called to have the equipment picked up from the house yesterday because hospice delivers their own equipment. They tell my 80 year old Dad they'll be there by 9:30 pm, so he waits and waits until 11:15 pm and they never show. So my 80 year old Dad spent this morning trying to take the bed apart so the new bed can be set up before my mom comes home. When it came to delivery they were on it, when it came to calling for payment they were on it. Would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF AT ALL POSSIBLE! My husband was hospitalized 1/2021, and a wheelchair was ordered by the Kaiser case manager, and delivered to our home. We had it for 2 weeks, then returned it because it was no longer needed. We received a bill in March, and I called and said to bill the insurance company. I received another bill in May, and stated it was covered by Kaiser and they needed to bill them. I never received another bill after that, and just received a phone call from a collection agency 1 1/2 years later, stating we owed money for the bill! The collection agency told me to call Apria and resolve it, and I called, and they were SUPER RUDE! They said that I needed to call Kaiser, and I called Kaiser. Kaiser said nobody had ever billed them, and the EID number was sitting on the document. I called back the collection agency, and Apria, and gave them the billing information, and stated I would sue them if it goes on my husbands credit. Apria billing department was too lazy to even call Kaiser for the authorization number! This company is highly unethical, and should be audited for more medical fraud. I just called to see if they carry, the supplies I need. Super rude operator. I was considering, going with your company, for my monthly supplies. All I wanted to know is do you have a online or other catalog, that you can send me, or my doctor. So he can send you the right item numbers. Operator kept talking over me. It took exactly 4 WEEKS and a MINIMUM of 10 phone calls to Apriah just to get them working on the order. A terrible company to deal with. Worst experience with this company! Incompetent personnel, was to deliver wheelchair and other items to the hospital and idiots deliver to a address claims they have a signature when absolutely no one is at home. Driver can not confirm who signed for the wheelchair! Driver can't confirm signature because no one was available to signed for that wheelchair. Don't use this company they are the worst there is in this business. Dealt with numerous people there who still don't know a damn thing there.. Just received a phone call from this company saying they were scheduling a pick up of equipment that was ordered by a physician upon discharge of the hospital. Spoke with Tim who transferred me to a supposed customer service supervisor, spoke to Noel who said he had to look for a supervisor because Tim didn't say why he was transferring the call. I advised him I wasn't getting paid to do their job and they need more competent people working in their facility. Told him when I'm on their "PAYROLL" I'll do the job. Ok, the reason we are trying to work with them is that my wife has pulmonary issues and needs a simple 24 hour oximeter. The doctor's office called them and it was told to us that we would have the tester in 24 hours. It's been two weeks, the doctor's office has called and let us know three time it was coming the next day. Finally after a week some guy shows up at the house to pick up the tester. I have called three days in a row, finally getting through to someone Friday who told me that the device would be there today. Damn if they didn't call and let me know it would be there tomorrow.....now I am trying to call them back after being on hold for two hours I talked with a girl who transferred me to the branch and I was hung up on! We kept getting robo calls that the delivery would be delayed and there was NO way to reach a human being to cancel the order. Finally the driver himself called, and we cancelled (7:42pm). This is truly been one of the worst companies we've ever worked with. They have ZERO customer service and I've filed multiple complaints with their corporate offices regarding this office and have never received a single response. We have had to drive 75 minutes (each way) multiple times to pick up our own equipment. They do not answer the phone. There is no emergency after-hours services. The extremely rude receptionist at this office could not possibly hate her job or the people who walk into the office more. She is rude. She cuts off any time you try to speak. There is no way someone who needs to sit down can receive assistance from this office. I was too weak and had to sit and since I stepped away from her window despite carrying on a conversation with her, she refused to talk to me. The respitory specialist started out trying to be helpful (if my husband would do his job for him which included multiple trips to that office to pick up and drop off equupment we had waited weeks to be delivered) but the past times we've actually reached him, he was rude and uninterested in helping.. The travel department which is through corporate, has flat out lied to me a dozen times on a dozen issues before the trip I took earlier this month. I wasn't allowed to pick up the travel concentrator until the day I was leaving and had been promised a 4 lb over the shoulder one. What i got was 20 lbs and on a rolling cart. The batteries I needed to get me through the flight (they lasted only 2 hours each so I needed 8) weighed even more. He refused to even offer an explanation of what changed or what i was to do about pulling a rolling cart while pushing a walker. The 2 home delivery drivers we have had in our home have been the ONLY positive in this entire company and we have truly dealt with more than 2 dozen people between all the fighting to get the equipment in the beginning and the nightmare with setting up the travel equipment to now today when my home concentrator quit working during the night between this Lancaster office and their corporate office. If you can go with ANY other company, I highly recommend doing so. I see my doctor tomorrow, I am blessed with very good insurance and am going to make a switch within the next week. The funniest part of all of this is that their excuse for their pathetic performance was that they had just moved into new offices but their drivers outed them as that having been an outright lie!!! An Apria customer service person called to advise delivery would be made of 2 items (a walker and a lightweight wheelchair) from Kaiser. This person did not mention his company name until I asked him. He wanted my husband's D.O.B., which I did not want to give to him as there are so many scams by phone. He said "you can give it to me now or call Kaiser to verify and call me back." I called Kaiser and was told that Apria is the only company they use for medical equipment delivery (after checking reviews of Apria and finding them very negative.) I decided to cancel the order as Kaiser stated they could not cancel it. In calling Apria there was no way to speak to anyone ...a recording advised there was a "promotion for select callers if I pressed a certain button for being 50+ - for roadside assistance, etc.... when I would not press ANY buttons the recording stated "please hang up now" and I was disconnected. We have been dealing with Apria for our CPAP and oxygen needs for years. Kaiser DME started us out and Apria was there right away with our first oxygen delivery. They have always been prompt and courteous whether when calling with a question, or checking out equipment, or training us to use the CPAP. i recommend them heartily. read more
