April Mae is an amazing photographer!!! She was so responsive, flexible, and efficient! She was a joy to work with from beginning to end. We received our photos only days after each event and we absolutely love them all! She is so experienced as a wedding photographer that she made the photos run as smoothly and painless as possible, especially the family photos! Actually, she really help make the whole day run smoothly! She was like our second wedding coordinator and our third mom! She helped apply my veil and made an impromptu bustle when mine broke! I don't love being in front of the camera but she always made me feel so confident and comfortable. The photos look beautiful, natural, and effortless. I wish I could give her a million out of 5 stars! April strikes exactly the right balance of being your BFF and a true professional! We found it so easy to relax around her, which shows in the photos. She gives easy-to-follow instructions that make the photos look great without feeling overly posed or unnatural. We had great vendors for our wedding, but April was by our favorite by far! When booking with her, she shared multiple galleries with me so I could see the flow of a whole day and get a sense for her style. She was also a preferred vendor for our venue, so she was able to even help us decide on a wedding date based on past weddings she'd photographed there (and when the greenery was most lush without being too hot). She was very flexible about rescheduling our engagement session when I had a ring disaster that required repairs. We were able to do two locations for the shoot that allowed us to get a more park-like feel with our pups and some downtown vibes, too. April is organized, well collected and a source of calm on an otherwise hectic day. Really led the flow of the day (despite having a planner), and I am SO grateful we had her as our photographer. She is also very competitively priced for the level of service she provides. Besides her absolutely amazing work, another thing that stood out was that she did not have an hour limit of on her time with us on our wedding day. It was nice knowing she would be there for everything we wanted captured. We were also SO impressed with how quickly we got our photos for both engagement and wedding galleries. We received 600+ of our photos within 48 hours of our wedding and got a several hundred more within a few weeks! It was so wonderful getting to see them so soon after and made me even more grateful we went with her after hearing horror stories of other couples not getting photos back for 4+ months. Hiring a photographer for our wedding was a daunting task for me because I absolutely hate having my photo taken and I get rather impatient when taking lots of photos, which was something I knew I wouldn't be able to avoid on my wedding day. After meeting April for the first time I felt such a sense of relief because I knew we chose the perfect photographer- she's patient, kind, and easy going. My fiance (now husband) and I don't take many photos, so we're extremely awkward and have no idea how to pose, what to do with our hands, where to look, etc., but April was up for this challange and was amazing at guiding/directing us. Along with being painfully awkward, it was also difficult for me to articulate what I was wanting photo-wise. April worked with me to hone in on the style of photos I was wanting, what locations we wanted, what poses to do, and the perfect balance of posed versus candid shots. On our wedding day she was incredible- she kept us (mainly me) on time, was extremely communicative, was patient with our families and wedding party, and made it all fun! Something I was dreading turned into a fun, quick, and memorable part of our wedding day! And when I say she was quick, she was QUICK. We were able to take couple photos, wedding party photos, immediate family photos, and extended family photos and were still able to attend the last 30 minutes of our cocktail hour. The photos turned out absolutely stunning. I have never loved this many pictures of myself, ever. April provided a sneak peak of our photos nearly 24 hours after our wedding ended, and she provided so many more photos than I expected. One of the best vendor experiences I've had! It's important to find a photographer that matches your desired aesthetic and jives with your personality. I'm so glad April was a part of our wedding day! She helped us manage our time so that we weren't taking group photos for too long and she was great at directing us for more natural shots. And after seeing our wedding photos, I can also say that we LOVE these photos and her talents shine through in catching all the special, candid moments. She's calm under pressure (from unexpected issues with our guests), she's speedy, and she makes it all fun. April is so beyond amazing at what she does. She did our engagement, bridal, & wedding photos. Not only are her photos phenomenal, but she goes above & beyond her job description to make your special day go smoothly! Choosing her was the best decision I made through this entire wedding process. My husband & I aren't the most natural people in front of a camera but she puts everyone at ease and makes the whole thing completely comfortable.
