He was very helpful and reached out to me before the wedding to get a feel for my vision for the photos. I wish I would have researched shots that I wanted more in advance to the wedding to ensure all of the ones I wanted were taken, in the moment it is easy to become overwhelmed and forget. There was maybe only 2 or 3 poses I would have included and we had over 600 to pick from so we have plenty of choices. DW was kind and fun during the wedding. His use of light in the photos were genius and turned out beautiful in the photos. I ordered several photo books from DW and they were wonderful. He even included hand written holiday cards for the people I was gifting them to. That was such a thoughtful and special detail! I definitely recommend using DW for a wedding photographer. We truly cherish all of the lovely photos and the memories from that day. In hindsight, I would have added more time because 2 hours were not enough to include pictures of the dances and some other important moments of us and our guests.

I loved the fact that the photos were artsy/colorful and not just the typical portraits. But what really sealed the deal was when we talked to Josh over Skype. He stated he doesn't charge by the hour for weddings because then he would be too focused on time, and also because it's a (hopefully) once in a lifetime experience that shouldn't be limited by time. He definitely followed through - we had an almost 10hr engagement session followed by another the next day!! How many photographers can you say would be ok with that? He really uses his surroundings to strengthen the photo as well. Andrew is his partner that did our 2nd day of engagement session and he was just as passionate, and just as friendly. During the wedding they really made sure to capture some of the best moments. I couldn't have asked for a better team!

We found it so easy to relax around her, which shows in the photos. She gives easy-to-follow instructions that make the photos look great without feeling overly posed or unnatural. We had great vendors for our wedding, but April was by our favorite by far! When booking with her, she shared multiple galleries with me so I could see the flow of a whole day and get a sense for her style. She was also a preferred vendor for our venue, so she was able to even help us decide on a wedding date based on past weddings she'd photographed there (and when the greenery was most lush without being too hot). She was very flexible about rescheduling our engagement session when I had a ring disaster that required repairs. We were able to do two locations for the shoot that allowed us to get a more park-like feel with our pups and some downtown vibes, too. April is organized, well collected and a source of calm on an otherwise hectic day. Really led the flow of the day (despite having a planner), and I am SO grateful we had her as our photographer. She is also very competitively priced for the level of service she provides. Besides her absolutely amazing work, another thing that stood out was that she did not have an hour limit of on her time with us on our wedding day. We received 600+ of our photos within 48 hours of our wedding and got a several hundred more within a few weeks!
