I had signed the one year contract for Aptive to put traps in my Mom's yard for yellowjackets, a couple months in they said that traps were not included in my plan when they had already put traps down. The yellowjackets are still there. I went to cancel my account but they charge so much to cancel. I have been waiting for the contract to be finished and they went into my account, cancelled my plan and put a new plan on my account for another year. They said I re-signed my contract and I did not sign anything. I called and they could not give me a reason as to why this happened and put me back on my original plan that ends next month. Every single time, they just spray outside for bugs and toss a mouse trap in my backyard -- seriously? That's not pest control. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I had Aptive Pest Control for years under a contract I signed and have proof of at the start of service stating that I was paying a quarterly fee of $149 dollars for treatment and unlimited returns if necessary. This worked flawlessly until I noticed numerous unauthorized charges of $160 dollars every 3 or 4 weeks. When I called to question the charges I was told that the plan changed without notice and every visit (scheduled or unscheduled) was charged at a higher rate. I informed that that I never agreed to this or signed any contact with these prices. The District Supervisor conformed that I was never previously made aware of this or signed any contract. He also admitted that my prior contract did not expire or make any mention of a price change. Regardless, after he admitted they made these charges without my knowledge or consent he refused to reimburse me the money they took and told me to cancel if I did not like the new terms which I promptly did. Whatever they were spraying on our bushes not only failed to get rid of the whiteflies (in fact, they multiplied and spread), it ended up causing even more damage than the flies to all the leaves that have been thriving and green for over two decades before Aptive came along. The annoyingly persistent sales rep that showed up at our house also sold me on their products being "safe" and "eco-friendly" but we noticed more and more dead honey bees around the yard since starting treatment. And of course, our dying bushes speak for themselves. Only after did I notice in the fine print that they use chemicals like fipronil, which is banned for some agricultural use in EU and USA. The techs that come by are courteous but totally inconsistent in their experience, some clearly don't know what they're doing, and most are in & out within 10 minutes -- and yet they charge $150 per service, and that's on the "cheaper" end! Seasonal treatments went from 4x a year to every other month - and for months now completely useless. This final one is what really made me call it quits with them...I called to have them come spray for a yellow jackets nest that started beneath the shingles on the side of my house. The guy claimed that because the nest is under my shingles I would have to have my husband remove the shingles or else nothing could be done. Asked around because how do u remove shingles without being stung 1000x? Turns out the shingles don't need to be removed, just need an exterminator that isn't useless. Had to pay another company to do what I had already paid Aptive to do. And when I left Aptive a 1 star review on their own site, the new company head contacted me and was extremely rude. Whatever aptive sprayed, made every kind of pest SWORM my homestead & now we have a TICK INFESTATION!!! I've been PULLING 20+ ticks off my animals DAILY! Just the last hour, I removed 4 ticks from my puppy's left leg. I have a mason jar full of ticks as a result of whatever Aptive sprayed!! A young Salesman Charles came to our house and we wanted to give the nice young kid a shot. Now I regret trusting this wolf in sheep's clothing. Long story short, whatever they sprayed made every crawling and flying pest swarm and invade INSIDE our home AND FARMSTEAD. Ticks have infested all of our animals, The vets came in HAZMAT SUITS! Every one of my animals are now on oral antibiotics, medicated topical ointments and Tresaderm solution drops. Vaccines were administered to prevent infectious diseases like limes disease. Blood test had to be done on every single animal (goats pigs chickens Turkey dogs and cat) to test for disease. The vet bill I received today OMG! The aptive salesmen made all kinds of promises, we didn't even need his service bc our local Exterminater came monthly and we never had a problem! NOW we are up shoots creek without a a paddle & have a HUGE PROBLEM! This is our source of income and I can not believe the nerve these people have! They keep telling us to wait it out another few weeks, queen bees are crawling around slowly dying, fireflies are all dead, butterfly's are all dead and we've been attacked by carpenter ants mosquitoes and ticks !! Everything the salesman said was a blatant lie. They tell you that they are treating all your neighbors and all their pest issues are going to swarm your house. I was told that the agreement is a month to month service with a cancel anytime for any reason. I cancelled the service after a few months because the treatments did nothing and after talking to all my neighbors who were told the same thing to sign up. After cancelling my credit card was continued to be charged for three months. Called customer service and spoke to their supervisor Randy she actually charged me an additional $199 dollar cancellation fee after over charging me $266.13 for treatments I never received. When they came the first time it was raining out so they couldn't do a portion of our yard because of our dogs. I had a new puppy and I couldn't wait until the yard was dry for him to go out so we figured since it was only 20 to 30 days that we would just wait for the next service. I reached out to the company about three or four days short of 30 days asking when the next service was and the response was 20 to 30 days from the last service. It's now been 35 days and I have not heard a word from them. I went on their website to see if I can schedule it myself and as of right now, they are booked for the next week with no available appointments I didn't go any further to check availability. This company approached my parents property to sell their service. They were opened to having services done. My parents received a service quote from this unprofessional company. When the time came for the service to be done, they did not complete the full service as they said they were going to treat the entire property. My mother brought this to the person's attention stating that he did not spray the entire property. He stated that he does not treat the property if it is past the ankles.
